Walmart Supercenter

I recently shopped at this location and have been to just about every 24 hour Walmarts. I only base my reviews on my visit and my individual opinion. I went in to Walmart like I normally do and I headed straight to the young men’s section and the graphic t shirt section. I also head to the automotive section because I love to clean and detail my car. Like always at the times I usually go the automotive department is either closed or they are stocking the shelves and the employees are in a zone.
This particular time a Walmart employee had just come back and was helping a customer, didn’t think much of it and when he was done he went back to his business. I am not sure who engaged who in conversation but this gentleman made an impression on me that really says wonder for that branch/​locations hiring process and screening. The gentleman that helped me was named Jose, I wanna say mid to late 20’s but can go either way as life can sometimes make us look wiser than our years or vice versus. Well I asked Jose if the window tint that they offered was worth a shit or not, it was wrong of me to assume that it was crap, but Jose knowing and quite possibly not knowing he sold the hell out of the product. He told me that his mother had had it and she loved it and it last X amount of years. We started talking cars and everything under the sun. He wasn’t pushy or in your face. He knew a ton of information on all the products. I asked him about something else non car related and he gave great advice and detail. This gentleman is a gem. I hope Walmart knows what they have with this gentleman. His character is 5 stars, and his ability to connect with customers is most def 5 stars. If you get a chance to visit this Walmart make sure you seek out a gentleman named Jose, very common name for a very phenomenal person. Automotive and home repair and decorating is where you can seek him out and gain something from him. Thank you again Jose! Bravo Walmart.

Update: this place still sucks on so many levels. Walmart makes so much money but can’t hire more workers to open up cash registers. Idk what’s the point of having 2 entrances open if there’s only registers open on one side.

This walmart is a mess, and their automotive center is even worse.
I took my car for an oil change, and after waiting about 15 min to be acknowledged by the one guy who seemed to be doing anything (of the 6 I counted), he told me it would be about two and a half hours before they even STARTED on my car, and when I asked him why it would take so long, he FLAT OUT told me, «it’s almost impossible to get any of these lazy people to do anything»!
WTH???

I was visiting the area and needed to stop by Walmart. This Walmart was the closest. I did not have any issues with the appearance of the store or the selection of items. In addition, the two employees that assisted me were professional and courteous. I would have given it 5 stars but this Walmart is like the others: 9 checkout lanes but only 2 cashiers. This of course causes a long wait to checkout.

Store is horrible. .1130pm. so called managers standing around while the check out line is basically to the back of the store. … not 1 register is open and only 4 out of 8 self check out lanes is open. Managers just chatting and walking around.. store has 30 something registers and not 1 is open.

So people wanted to call the San Marcos Walmart «Ghetto». You haven’t seen ghetto if u haven’t been to this Walmart. It’s like Hurricane Katrina hit it. Dirty ass rest rooms and rude ass employees. Plus this Walmart is in 1 of the most dangerous areas in San Antonio. So it’s best to go before 10 PM or just don’t go to this 1 at all cuz it’s straight up ratchet as hell.

This Walmart literally scared me. Always dirty and there are always people begging for money outside. AVOID at all cost!

I finally just gave up on this location. It is closest to my home. But, now I drive to the HEB in LaVernia. The associates don’t even acknowledge you, much less, offer to help. And, if for some reason you have to ask for help, for paint, fishing license, or ship to store… GOOD LUCK! Restrooms are filthy. The registers have a habit of double ringing items. I had to get a refund for the umpteenth time for a double ring. Waited, no exaggeration, 20 minutes for the Manager to approve the refund, that was their equipment error. I was told, no lie, that the Manager was with «The Big People», and that was why I had to wait so long. That’s when I informed the poor clerk, «I am the big people, I’m the customer» How disgusting that even the visiting executives don’t care about their customers enough to release the Manager, to do his job. Whoever is responsible for their pricing tasks should be replaced. And heaven help you if they have to call a CSM, with that ridiculous/​useless flashing register light. I don’t care how cheap they are, my time is more valuable.

Although there are some exceptional employees here, most are not. Upon entering, I usually encounter greeters that are not friendly or avoid any communication/​eye contact at all. There never seems to be enough lines open to serve the amount of customers present. Also, some of their meat products (especially the chicken) had a foul odor even though the tag says it wasn’t expired. I experienced that on two separate occasions. Needless to say, I don’t buy most of my meat products from this location. Management is nonchalant and cashiers don’t really greet customers. When they do, it is often as if they really don’t want to. Like I mentioned earlier, there are some exceptional employees. I attempted to compliment two in particular to management. The manager’s reply was, «Ok??» –as if to say «What do you expect me to do about it?»
I only go to this location most of the time when I don’t feel like driving to La Vernia’s HEB and when I need non-​meat products. It’s sad that the store is this way. I hope that it will improve soon.

I absolutely HATE this Walmart! It is beyond dirty and the staff is absent and NOT helpful when present. I will add a pic of the dirty men’s restroom.

Worst Walmart I know. Only stop here if I have to! Nasty parking lot with baskets everywhere, people driving through the parking lot too fast, total disregard for anyone… Then when you get inside — nothing is stocked, no order, dirty floors and shelves, rude employees… What more can I say???
DON’T SHOP AT THIS WALMART!!!

This is the closest location to my house so I usually go here. Walmarts pharmacy carries many $ 4.00 generics which is great for a person without health insurance. They carry cute baby clothes and have great prices on diapers. If you need it chances are they carry it.
