Valero Corner Store

Great location, right off of 410, open 24 hours. Though they will occasionally close to restock for an odd hour at late night. They have some hot food and snacks available with shake maker and slushy. Also they have a walk in cooler for beer.

OK… so some of you may be wondering why I am reviewing a Valero, let alone the fact that I’m rating it as a 5 star establishment… but seriously, stick with me on this one, and read on my fellow Unilocalers…
First of all it’s brand new… as in built from the ground up and opened only 3 months ago… it’s brightly lit, safe, and clean. But that’s only a small fraction of the reason for the 5 star review. It’s almost like a mini grocery store in here as well, with an expanded food section vs. most convenience stores, including bacon, meatloaf, an extensive fresh produce section including all sorts of fruits and vegetables, and a ton of dairy products. Also they have an on site bakery that produces fresh breads, rolls, and cupcakes!!!
Next we move on to the drink section… sure, there’s your typical soda, beer and wine coolers, as well as your fountain drinks, but it doesn’t just stop there. They also have an Icee machine with Dr. Pepper and Big Red Icee’s, a milkshake machine, and a smoothie machine. Of course they have about 12 different types of coffee available as well… fresh brewed or powder. your choice.
Also, and this is a big bonus for cheesy me, they have an awesome gadgets isle. …lol! Every possible cheesy gas station gift you could possibly ask for can be found here. Elvis lighter? Check. Flip Flops with a beer opener in the soles? Check. Annoying giggling stuffed animal? Check.
Ok…so if you have stuck with me through my excited description of Valero, then you get it. I love this place. If you are ever on a journey to the southside, take a break… stretch your legs, and stop by. You won’t regret it!
