On busniness for a week, asked my San Antonio co workers where to eat. All they kept saying was Burritos. I contacted the BBQ Snob/aka Daniel Vaughn and he sent me here. WOW… glad i made it, Brisket was perfect, Food was so good i purchased a TShirt to remember the place. I will be back

Tried this BBQ place yesterday with three other people. I had a pulled pork sandwich. The meat was soaking wet, so the bun end ed up soaking wet This made the bun a waste as there was no way to pick the sandwich up and eat it. Totally soaked bread is nasty. I ordered slaw. The slaw was on the vinegar side. They had three types of BBQ sauce, but all were runny and way too much vinegar. The Fries were OK and my soda was fine. But, I can’t get over the bland, wet pulled pork.

This can’t possibly be a true representation of real TEXASBBQ??? I liked the outdoor patio. I liked the pits smoking… Links…too fatty(almost as bad as those Farmer John links). Brisquet…tasted more like it had been boiled. Spare ribs… Tender but lacked flavor. Didn’t even have a pork taste! Pulled pork… No pork flavor. I LOVEBBQ… and I will admit to preferring dry-rub over sauce. I have a joke with my family & friends, «Go ahead and insult me by adding the sauce» BECAUSE the rub alone should be more than enough for the meats to have a great taste. If I had not witness the«pit boss» applying the rub, I would have to say that no rub had been used.

This place is pretty good. Drive down to SA from Austin for a scenic drive on 281 and some new ‘cue. The beef rib on special today was the best ever 5+* seriously! It weighed 1.5 lbs was huge, super tender and juicy. I easily killed it with a plastic fork and knife. Not overly seasoned or charred, just right. The brisket was decent but not my favorite, maybe cut too hot and releasing the juices. The sausage had nice snap and smoke but was ground a little fine for me. I was happy to see chicken thighs on the menu. They were super smoky, probably a little too much but the meat was well done. Other items such as turkey sandwich were good. Sides were decent of cole slaw, cream corn and Mac cheese. The free whole jappys, onions, pickles serve your self were great. At least 3 sauces for variety. Teas and other non-soda drinks were self serve from large Iglo coolers were cool. Outdoor seating is great atmosphere, heavily treed with kid play area. Only one fan not adequate though for summertime. This place is 4.5 with the most magnificent beef rib, 4 without it. Desserts were pretty decent, would definitely return.
