I ordered a lobster bisque and the rissoto. Well I was disappointed with the food as well as the service. First, after having served the bisque, it took them another 5 mins to get the bread, which should be on the table before the soup or at least at the same time. Second, the bisque was very salty, probably the worse bisque I ever had. Now come to the risotto, this dish had a strong smell of rum or Cognac, not sure what it was. At least the portion they served was ok!!! Ok to wrap up, I knew it they call themselves a high scale restaurant or maybe high scale for San Antonio standard, and I was expecting the price to be high, but man… I could eat better food at a cheese cake factory… Will not visit this place again, was a waste of my money and time.

I love the food here and the guys were so sweet, however food takes too long Last night we got inside at 8:20 but we only at 9:40 I guess it was a Saturday … The tuna with the avocado mousse was fantastic! Sooooooo yummy My main was ok, I ordered the NY strip… The sauce was too oniony and floury gravy

The Sandbar is great. In the land of beef, it’s a great respite to have very fresh, very well done seafood. Yes, you pay for it, but it’s worth it. Some menu highlights include fresh oysters(that are as well done as some of my favorite places in Boston), great daily specials of whatever the freshest thing they’ve got, ceviche with plantains, and a whole friend snapper(my personal favorite). The food is phenomenal. The ambiance is good, as it’s a balance of a casual with a somewhat higher end feel. I think that comes a lot from the professional and intelligent staff, which is another highlight. Bonus: parking in the Pearl Brewery area is always pretty easy. Overall, this place hits a lot of what makes a restaurant great, but it’s the food that is the star of the show, and that’s why I give them 5 stars.
