The Montecristo Apartments in San Antonio, TX

I wrote a previous review about this complex, ranting and raving about how great it is, but I would like to update it due to a recent bad experience.
My roommate and I lived here for about 2 and a half years, and we great tenants: clean, on time with payments, pleasant, and didn’t cause any trouble.
Upon move out we not only scrubbed our entire apartment down, but we tried to set up a walk through with someone from the office so that they could give us the «OK» in order to avoid any charges.
My roommate called the office and spoke to one of the representatives about setting it up. He said he would pass the message along to a manager so that they could come and check out our apt, and to expect them the next day mid-​afternoon; no one ever showed.
After a few weeks of being moved out, we both received a letter stating that we owed $ 150+ for carpet cleaning charges. I was and still am furious! Our carpet was not excessively dirty or stained, we didn’t have pets, and the only areas that were a little «soiled» were the walking paths (which tends to happen if you LIVE somewhere. Especially after 2+ years). When I called the office to speak to the manager, I was directed to an assistant manager who walked me in circles and beat around the bush.
After re-​reading our lease contract, I could not understand how this charge was legitimate, let alone fair. Our lease stated: «if you don’t clean adequately, you’ll be liable for reasonable cleaning charges – including charges for cleaning carpets, draperies, furniture, walls, etc that are soiled beyond normal wear (that is, wear or soiling that occurs without negligence, carelessness, accident, or abuse).» Our contract also suggests to meet with an apartment representative so that they can do a walk through (which we tried to schedule).
In conclusion, I do not recommend signing a lease here unless you are prepared to pay unreasonable and expensive charges upon move out. My roommate and I both feel taken advantage of, and are disappointed with the treatment we received once we were no longer residents. It seems that the business relationship we had developed with the complex was completely forgotten about as soon as we weren’t residents (aka weren’t giving them our business). CWS Apartment Homes will never get my business again.

Definitivo, si buscas un depa desde 1 recámara, ésta es la opción. Te rentan desde 1 mes en adelante. El precio es súper competitivo para la zona.
Inmejorable ubicación; todos los comercios y servicios que necesitas a menos de 5 minutos.
Lo único que falta es que el inquiino contrata por su cuenta los servicios (electricidad. cable, internet), así como amueblarlo (hay muchas opciones para esto: nuevo de tiendas, renta, o mercado de pulgas). Todo es muy económico.
Excelentes e impecables áreas comunes. Gimnasio, alberca, business center, área de juegos, parque para perros, asadores, café y thé (GRATIS!), y el personal, súper amable y comprometido para apoyarte.
Si regreso a San Antonio por una temporada, aquí me quedo.

I lived at The Montecristo for over 9 years, I moved in pretty much right after it was built. One of the first things I will say is that there is not much difference in the condition of the property from when I moved in to when I moved out. The ownership and staff does a fantastic job of keeping the property in great condition. Second, the staff is well above any other apartment staff I have ever came across. From the Property Manager and Leasing Agents to the Maintenance Staff, they are all terrific. Every time I had any kind of request or issue, they made it a top priority to take care of me as soon as possible. The staff would always have events to reward all of the tenants for choosing The Montecristo. Everything from brunch on Saturdays to barbecues at the pool on weeknights. The property has fantastic amenities like a great fitness center, business center, conference room as well as a huge pool. There is access to 1604 and 281 as well as several great restaurants and bars in the area. I was sad to leave a great place that I called home for almost a decade and I would definitely recommend The Montecristo to anyone looking for an awesome new place to call home!

We have lived here for two years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We have had only a couple maintenance issues but they were quickly taken care of. The pool and grounds are well maintained. The only real downside is the noise at night from neighboring restaurants and the lack of parking. We often have to park outside the gate… and we have handicap plates. The noise from the restaurants is only a problem when the weather is nice enough for them to open their patios and ends promptly at 2am.

You can tell the front of house staff cares when they know you by name and the facilities staff is out at 8am sharp every morning (unheard of!). They provide a monthly brunch and dinner for the residents, the grounds are well kept, the pool is spacious and inviting, all of my maintenance requests were taken care of same day. It’s mostly yuppys and families here, so noise level isn’t ever a problem. Parking is adequate depending on which building you’re at. I’ve been here since 2012, and I can’t imagine leaving as this complex has the best value (square footage and $/​sq. ft.) of any place I’ve lived (5 complexes over 11 years).
