What more could you ask for in a Dive bar? My grandpa took my dad here when he was about 11 years old. My dad took me here when I was 12(no not bad parenting at all so suck it). Ever since that first time I’ve always loved coming here. You get treated with respect, you don’t ever have to look over your back for a fight, and the beers are always cold. If you’re looking for a place to just kick back, enjoy a drama free night, and only have a couple bucks then this is definitely the place to come. The drinks are cheap and the times are great.

Had never visited this pub prior and was brought here for the Whiskey Tacos Bingo event. You can’t start drinking whiskey at 1pm… said no one EVER! This was a fun event. The bartenders were helpful and friendly. The whiskey was smooth and delicious. Sadly my luck stopped there. Played a few rounds of bingo with no luck but those that did win, walked away with some awesome goodies. One winner left with a bowling bag containing three bottles of whiskey, another had a selection of bartender delights, also with a bottle of whiskey. Someone else walked away with a snuggie and bottle of whiskey. You’re getting the theme :-) It was so much fun, glad I got the chance to go and it was fun playing and enjoying different types/ages of whiskey. Good times! Also this place has pool tables, though space is limited it works.

Found this place while driving around downtown looking for a bar that’s open on Christmas Day. True dive bar, but very charming as dive bars go. Pool tables, darts, big screen TV, and full service, not just beer. And omg, somebody was playing Irish folk music on the jukebox… amazing!!! Domestic beer is $ 2.00, so prices are reasonable. Don’t know about mixed drinks prices, fancy myself as more of a beer drinker. Anyway, great little hole in the wall in the downtown area. My only complaint is that there was no lock on the ladies room door, and no way to lock the single stall, so basically anybody could just barge in while you are taking care of business.

Nice place. Good service, selection, booze and occasionally street parking is available. Has a vending machine for food and a decent jukebox. A place to put a bicycle too.

This place is awesome. I am not from here and was treated as a regular. No credit cards, a true off the beaten path place.

THEDEFINITIONOF A DIVEBAR. Which I absolutely love and seek out. Two pool tables, one dollar each. Zeigen on draft for $ 8 per pitcher. Super close to downtown. A little shady but super fun.

I’m only knocking down a star because, as a woman, I was harassed at this bar two times in a single visit. Sad, because that was only my last time coming here and it was because I was in the company of all females, whereas previously, I had my boyfriend with me. Whatever, patrons are dicks, but a tallboy and whiskey will only set you back 4.50, and that nice old woman behind the bar even came by to check on us. Open, empty and always playing the latest sports? This bar is perfect for me to just sit and hang at all night.

Great little dive, cheap prices, juke box, plenty of bar sports(pool, darts, etc). Nothing fancy, but comfortable and fun. if you’re looking for shitz and glitz, not the place. But if you already have good company and are looking to chill, you won’t be disappointed.

Awesome. This is our dive bar hangout downtown. Cash only so you know its good! A wide selection of interesting people at any given time. They have two pool tables, a dart board($ 0.75 a player… booo!) and a touchtunes jukebox. Good people watching on the inside and out. frequented by bar and kitchen staff from the area. We love this place.

A great place to slam back mad $ 2 Lone Stars and #LSLs. If you are a fan of dive bars that will never be popular because they are massively flawed, then Texas T Pub is the place for you. There is one bartender, a kind older lady and owner who often takes forever with the drinks. But she’s so sweet, it doesn’t matter. Great place to escape from the ‘trendy’ bars(mixology or curated dive experience). Just some pure San Antonio(even the dark side). They have a TouchTunes jukebox and plenty of TVs. Yes, you are more than likely to get depressed by some of the clientele, but in a way, you can lose yourself in the masses of people drinking to forget. 0% pretension at this downtown gem.

This is for sure a dive bar, so please, if you’re looking for something trendy or hipster like, dont bother. My BF and I have a love for Dives. No pretensious A-holes, no groups of broads stinkin up the place with crappy attitudes and no rediculous beer /liquor prices. We found this place while waiting for The Texan to open. I’m assuming the bartender that day was the owner. She was super friendly and very informative about the going-on’s in San Antonio. We were out of towners and she was a great help. Made us feel right at home. The place it self is reminicent of a pool hall. Banquet table seatng and 1 or 2 pool tables. A great juke box that we put to use. We went durring fiesta so the place was decorated for the occasion. Everyone in there seemed to be a reqular and basically paid no attention to us, lol. We have a few cups(not glasses, since they serve thier beer in the 16oz clear plastic cups, not sure if it is beause o the fiesta crowd that I’m sure was to come in later) of Dox XX, running us 3.00 a pop. All in all, a great place to come to if you just want to hang, have a few drinks not have to bother with the crowd. If we’re ever back in San Antonio, we’ll definitely be back.

This place is definitely a dive, but it’s great! It appears to be a local hangout, not tourist-y. I think my companion and I were the only out-of-towners there. The staff was friendly, the Lone Star was cheap, the air conditioning was cold, and the bathrooms were clean. Perfect little place to stop in on a hot summer afternoon.

This bar is old(the owner told me this bar had been there for about 25 years) but I love that kind of vintage-taste atmosphere. It seems to be mainly for local people, but the owner and customers were very friendly and the owner treated a few glasses of beer although maybe because I am a foreigner(Japanese) and the owner was a little drunk. A can of the Lone Star(local beer) was only $ 2.

This is, without a doubt, the worst bar I have ever been to. It’s worth visiting this place if you’re feeling sorry for yourself, because all you have to do is tell yourself, «Hey, at least I’m not the washed up Marine who loves to talk too loudly about how great Pink Floyd is» or «At least I’m not the bartender who wears faded golf shirts and says ‘fuck’ a whole lot» or «Hey, at least I’m not the 60-year old female owner who tucked her dress into her panties when she left the restroom because she was too drunk to realize it.» Seriously. I only ended up here because I was in San Antonio waiting for my friend to arrive and finally found parking and didn’t want to venture too far. My God. This place is fucked. I can’t even believe they stay in business. Oh, they only take cash and their ATM machine will tack on a $ 3.50 fee. Whatever.
