Studio 55

First time at studio 55 but I must say what an experience. Tiffany scheduled me for 8 am but did not touch my head until 12PM. I was getting frustrated the entire time while sitting and sitting and sitting. She finally calls me over and she tells me the hair style I want is 250! If I would have know that I wouldn’t have even started. Nevertheless I continued with the service because I dropped the ball and needed my hair done ASAP. Then she told me
A price for the hair of which she did not say to me over the phone when asked. Her assistant was able to talk to her to give me the price of which she told me originally.
I began talking to her to see where here head was. I asked her if she took cash and she proceed to tell me about the way people steal service when using cards. Then she says «and who does having a card service benefit.» I said «the customer «. She said «exactly». Now last time I remember if it wasn’t for your customers you wouldn’t be making money. Then I asked her about her method of scheduling her customers. She said she schedules on top of people because if she set aside time for each client she wouldn’t make any money. Again… she doesn’t care about the customer.
8 hours later I have a not so bad hair do but a pretty bad experience. For her prices though she is not that great.

I am very honored to write this review because Tiffany has become a friend to me. We talk about this all the time but I was her first client at a salon on the east side when she relocated from California to Texas. I completely fell in love with the install, it lasted me 2 and a half months. Could have been longer but I don’t like keeping them in that long. I went back to find her because I wanted her re do them but she left and the other stylist were hesistant about telling me where she left. Then I started doing fusion and it destroyed my hair to the max and I was bummed. Someone had passed me a business card and I called. She sounded so familiar but I was not sure. But she confirmed it was and when I showed up at the salon (at that time located at 1604 and Blanco) I was beyond happy because I knew I was in good hands. She has been the only sylist to do my extensions in the state of Texas (I had moved to Florida for 4 years) and now that I have returned no one else will be touching this head.
I always get compliments on my hair and I am always happy to spread the love. I have sent just about everyone I know to her. Everyone from my closest friends to family. I can honestly say without any doubt whatsoever that when I leave Studio 55, I feel like a rockstar. I don’t even have to tell Tiff what I want, she knows. When she does your hair, its a labor of love. I never left feeling like something could have been done better, different, etc… precision and perfection everytime. I feel like I get more than my money’s worth. Its worth every dollar. But you get what you pay for. The salon is multicultural so whether you are Black, Hispanic, Caucasian. Natural hair, colored hair, relaxed hair, wavy hair, straight hair SHE CAN DO IT ALL!!! I’ve seen before my eyes her literally changing the hair game in San Antonio. I always have and will continue to support her salon because it has been awesome to me. I can’t wait to try out Amanda’s color techniques. Everyone is down to earth and a pleasure to be around. I know this review is lengthy and all over the place but I speak from the heart. God bless.

This place provides such a classy hair experience, whatever your hair desires the OWNER Tiffany and her staff will go above and beyond to make it happen. As a health care professional, I can appreciate the fact that they serve honesty and will let you know what may be the best option for your styling needs while still listening to vision. As a person who doesn’t know much about styling it means a lot to have a beautician who seems to look out for her clients interest and not just about the dollar. They seem to run a tight ship with employees and clients and hold themselves accountable for timing and work. Whenever I make an appointment I voice special needs for timing etc at that time and they are always met. If you want quality, honest, thorough work this is the place you need to call your salon!

First I want to start by saying I’m a army veteran. That has spent 3 out of 7 years deployed. I have bachelors in forensic science and I am currently working for a large financial institution. The reason I’m giving this disclaimer is to show that I’m a person who doesn’t act out of impulse or without justifiable reasons. I believe whole heartily treat others as you want to be treated and I wouldn’t waste my precious time writing anything negative about any company especially a African American owned business without justification. I was in need of a stylist to do my hair for on Saturday 2÷13÷2016 for the concert that was held at 730pm. My appointment was at 1130am with Tiffany and I showed up at 11:15am to wait for my hair to be shampooed and styled. My hair is natural and I generally wear it in a curly Afro, therefore when searching for I stylist I must ensure he/​she specializes in natural hair. That’s what brought me to studio 55 on 2÷13÷16. I had called earlier that day to confirm my appointment time and stylist so I don’t run into any issues. First issue with this salon is that the stylist, receptionist, manager can never remember what your name is or why you have an appointment. For example I called Tuesday to book my appointment for Saturday I was, rightfully so asked my name and what was I having done, Saturday the day of my appointment I called I was asked my name what I was having done and who was my appointment with, I got to the salon on Saturday and was asked the same questions by the receptionist and then when the stylist Amanda brought me back to the shampoo bowl I was asked the same 2 questions as if no one wrote anything down. However, I just chalked it up to them being busy no big deal right. So after exactly 30 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time without anyone coming out to provide an update I was finally called to the back by Amanda and guided to the shampoo bowl. After sitting down in the chair I hear whom I believe to be Tiffany (so called manager) call
Amanda and next thing I know Amanda says and I quote «Sorry your hair is going to take too long for us to comb out and we have other people waiting so we are not going to be able to do your hair today you would need to reschedule.» End quote. I was shocked and amazed at the manner in which this information was delivered and even more appalled at such a ridiculous request. I said to Amanda, I’m confused as to what’s the issue? Here’s the deal I called and scheduled an appointment for my hair to be washed and flat iron, on top of that I’ve been waiting in YOUR waiting room for 45 minutes and I drove 30 minutes to get here. So let me ask you do you think it’s appropriate you request I rescheduled my appointment. Then she proceeds to get the manager Tiffany. Who then starts to tell me the same thing about my hair will take too long to comb out. So at this point I’m baffled at such unprofessionalism by a hair salon who claim they specialize in natural hair. The manager wants to argue me down that my hair has been two strand twisted, when I’m telling this lady repeatedly my hair has not been twisted don’t you think I know what has and has not been done to my own hair??? She continues to assert this being the reasons no one will do my hair and what was more reason for me to leave was she called another stylist over and ask her do you have time to do her hair and she (being Amanda) said oh no I’m not combing her hair. So I looked at them said this is the reason I do come to these type of places. Y’all are too funny, I said I’m going to leave since no one can do my hair for which I scheduled an appointment for and when was the last time combing someone hair was a separate service??? Shouldn’t this occur during every hair appointment Tiffany? Maybe not because the way your hair looked someone should have ran a comb the through yours. All in all if you are ever thinking about visiting studio 55, please find another salon these people are as unprofessional as it gets. I told Tiffany I have never had an issue with any salon doing my hair regardless if it was curly or straight, but you guys have made this visit a nightmare. I ask for corporate number to report their actions and in her true delusional state of mind of course she claimed she was corporate and own every studio 55 built.. I told her ok, if you are the owner then why can’t you provide a solution to something you have a made a clear inconveniencing situation. For example, if you would have said, due to the state at which your hair is in its going to take Longer than expected if you don’t mind waiting for another 20 minutes I can get another stylist to comb out your hair… Very simple right… You created the problem therefore as a manager you should know how to resolve conflict. I will never ever visit studio 55, these women are unprofessional, inconsiderate, rude, and unapologetic.

My search is over! Anyone can say that they can do hair. In this case, not only did my girl say it but she proved it! I am really impressed with the braiding technique and sewing style used to install my extensions because this is how my stylist back home in Florida used to do it. I don’t have a headache from the braids being too tight or anything. I’d definitely recommend anyone come here for their hair care needs whether they have natural or relaxed hair. Tiffany is a beast at what she does. She can also hold a decent conversation with you to make you feel comfortable while sitting in her chair. I can honestly say that if anyone was to write a bad review about her quality of work or professionalism, they’d only be hating. Her shop is in the stone oak area and is decorated very nicely, they have neutral music playing in the background (its not ghetto or too loud). If anyone is looking for a high quality sew in weave, come here!!!

Ladies you will not be disappointed it’s a promise just try it and dare to experience for yourself l walked in feeling unkept and frizzy oh but when I walked out I was well pleased. This is the best beautician among any! Like I stated dare to experience for yourself. And did I say I called and was blessed with a same day appointment!

I found Tiffany on Instagram @stylesbytiff55 and was very impressed. I later found out she was the Tiffany that a friend goes to get her sewins done. I am very nervous about new people doing my hair, but I made an appointment and was very pleased! My hair was gorgeous. My head wasn’t too tight, and the install lasted almost 3 months. What were sealed the deal is when I decided to take my hair down. My braids were still FLAT too my head! I could lift to see the new growth, but nothing was out of place! Her stitching was done so well that I had to have someone else cut it out! When the foundation is laid correctly, you know a stylist really cares about the clients’ natural hair. Tiffany has gained a new customer! I look forward to my next install, and will probably dabble with a new color as well…

I no longer live in San Antonio, but when I did live there I used to go to Tiffany for my partial sew-​ins. To say that she is PHENOMENAL at what she does is an understatement. If you are on the fence about making an appointment with her, DON’T be. She always makes it a point to give you exactly what you ask for. She is fun to be around, works fast without sacrificing quality, and her new salon is beautiful. I will say that I’ve noticed that she is a multi-​tasker and tends to work on more than one client at a time, so if you are pressed for time, be sure to try and snag her first appointment of the day, OR just let her know when making the appointment and when you arrive that you’re pressed for time. Let me first start by saying that the salon is gorgeous… Helps that it’s my high school colors too.
I rolled into to San Antonio with my permed hair growing out with my natural on the bottom. My hair would stay curled and the moment I got hot or worked out it would puff up. Not the kind of hair I needed to present to my students’ parents on a daily basis. So I was determined to leave Texas with a new hairdo.
I called Tiffany that Friday evening and spoke with her briefly about my hair. I was able to get an early appointment the next day.
I was looking for a carefree but cute cut and that’s just what I got. I enjoyed talking with Tiffany (California Love). And was very pleased not only with the service but also with my cute new short do. I’ve received nothing but compliments on it from the wedding in Texas all the way back to Sacramento.

I wouldn’t call it the best. just okay. her hair care practices are harmful. and Tiffany needs an attitude adjustment. didn’t like it. and was made to pay so much money for a job that could’ve been done cheaper at a much better salon. kmt

The best hair salon in San Antonio! I have been going to Tiffany for a couple of years now bouncing back and forth from getting sewn in extensions to going natural. Every time I’ve gone, I have NEVER been disappointed. She will try her best to fit you in and cater to your schedule even if you’re requesting a last minute appointment. My appointment was made about a day in advance and for 7 AM. She showed up ON TIME! Her salon is located inside the oasis and is decorated nicely. It’s cozy enough to make you feel at home! She is also hilarious and will talk to you about anything :) I highly suggest her!
