I purchased a home when I was new to Austin and, not knowing the businesses in the area, trusted my real estate agent’s recommendation to use Star Floors to install both hardwood and carpet before I moved in. Within literally a week, the hardwood floorboards started«popping» when I walked on them. The person they sent to «fix» the problem spent almost two days doing nothing but injecting glue — a LOT of glue — under the floorboards. This left the floor with large pinprick-type marks throughout it. Clearly, the floor was uneven at the start and, instead of the installers leveling it properly, they just slapped the boards down. The job they did is one I could have done myself for ¼ of the cost(strictly for materials), since they either had no clue how to do a hardwood installation or simply didn’t care. Later, on the carpet they installed, I noticed a «dip» and panicked, thinking I had a foundation problem and that my floor was caving in. Ends up, they had put two separate pieces of padding down and didn’t even bother to tape them together; thus, they separated underneath the carpet. From someone who has owned homes for the last 20+ years, I can say that I have never encountered a company with such lazy and incompetent employees.
