The best pizza I’ve had in San Antonio. Tried this yesterday for the first time and we got the Alla Salvatore pizza. It’s topped with mushroom, spinach, and pepperoni. So many things right with this pizza — it’s full of flavor, the ingredients seems high quality, not too greasy, and the crust is thin and crispy enough for a little crunch when you bite into it which I really appreciate because the one thing I can’t stand with my pizza is a soggy bottom. The owner seems to really take pride in his work and it shows. We will definitely be back here again! P. S. I would have included a picture but we ate it too fast. Trust me it looked beautiful.

Great place to have NY style pizza without buying from a chain pizzeria. Staff is friendly.

Terrific location and great for the whole family! We went on a Thursday at 6:45 pm and had three giant pizzas and specials with pizza made to order by the slice! The ingredients were fresh and the sauce was perfect. It was served piping hot with just the right amount of cheese and toppings. Our family has found a new favorite pizza place with great taste and service! They have pepper flakes and Parmesan at the table along with napkins! They serve pizza on paper plates and it feels comfortable and definitely casual dining. Speed was great as well for custom ordered pizza

It was decent pizza. We ordered the Pavarotti Meat Lover and it was good, however they only gave us half of the meat that should have been included; left off the salami and bacon. I might order it again but considering the price and that half the meat was missing I might just try something else. I’m surprised that they have such high ratings overall.

Delicious pizza! The pepperoni is my favorite. This is the perfect Ny style pie. The service is always great too! Oh and the tiramisu is the best I’ve ever had!

I was looking in Unilocal for a GOOD pizza in San Antonio and I found a jewel! I ordered a Margherita Pizza. The crust was perfect. Right amount of crunch. All ingredients fresh as if it was just picked up from a farm. The owner Giuseppe was very nice and the staff too. I never like to give a top score because I think there is always room for improvement. Thank you fellow Unilocalers for guiding me there. I will definitely be back and I do recommend it!

This pizza place is amazing. It’s casual and smaller inside and the staff is very friendly and very attentive as well as helpful in choosing what’s best by local customers and their selves. Their pizza came out fresh and hot and they have great daily specials as well. I am new in town and this is the first place I’ve gone to for a slice and left very satisfied and will become a regular!

Not what we expected. Our friends told us that this was the place for Italian food. The spaghetti sauce was dry and the noodles were swimming in water. The meat ball was sour. I ordered a pizza also because I did not want to miss this authentic style pizza. It was also a let down. I ordered extra cheese but when I got my pizza there was no extra cheese. I mentioned it to the server and they replied there’s more underneath. Underneath what? Totally dissapointed. Maybe the cook changed.

My Sapore’s experience has been bland and overpriced food, a small menu selection, an especially slow kitchen and a gruff owner. I prefer the nearby Capparelli’s or Main Street Pizza near San Antonio College.

Absolutely love the pizza and the staff is so friendly. My husband and I come here way to often than we should but the pizza and desserts are so amazing! Best in San Antonio! Definitely recommend the Pizza Alla Salvatore.

Love the pizza at this little hole in the wall! I had the white mushroom chicken pizza. I only ordered one slide, but he made the entire pizza fresh! It’s also a fantastic deal! I paid under $ 6 for a sizable slice and a salad! They also offer hot sandwiches. Perfect for lunch!

A nice little hole in the wall pizza place. Great food, excellent staff, quick and easy service. The restaurant is clean and they have two blue plate awards! I think you’ll be happy with whatever you order. :)

Giuseppe and his great pizzas! We used to go to his cramped restaurant on Babcock and Hillcrest so I’m glad that he finally moved to this location a couple of years ago. His new location is much bigger, brighter and uptown but the quality of his food has not diminished one bit. He is still in the kitchen making magic and if you are lucky, he might even talk to you and reminisce about the old place while he is creating and making delicious goodies. I wish I could go and eat his great pizza(and panino sandwiches) every week but as we get older, we need to start watching the calories. Oh, how I dislike getting old! Nevertheless, my wife and I still go when we start craving pizza from Sapore’s. Folks, if you want great pizza, make the trip and go to Sapore’s.

Excellent pizza, if you live in the area, it should be your new pizza spot. Service was not perfect so they didn’t get 5 stars, but the food was delicious.

Always good and super fresh! I really, really miss this place and intend on paying them a visit soon. The pizzeria is like a little place straight out of NY and the flavor here is amazing! Friendly staff as well I used to love going in and having a pie made go order with my son and just bask in the wonderful aromas! You will not be disappointed! Give them A whirl!

I drive past this place all the time and finally decided to stop by earlier this week. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing after my bf jokingly read the sign(in an Italian accent LOL) so we went ahead and pulled in. It’s a small clean bright establishment and sevice was very friendly. Didn’t take too long for our food either. We order one large pepperoni, bacon, and ham pizza and one canoli. My bf said it might be the best pizza he ever had, I say its the best that I’ve had while in San Antonio… The thin crust texture and flavor was perfect… the toppings were of good quality and just tasted great. The canoli was amazing:) bf never had one before and wouldn’t back off of mine:(we will definitely be back.

I did eat it, but will not be back. They are so skimpy with the cheese I couldn’t tell if there was any on it at all. Ordered the spore supreme. There was nothing supreme about it. Sorry to say disappointed I don’t suggest this restaurant. Have to say pleasant employees

I’m a deep dish, thick crust kind of girl. So when I found out that Sappore’s had a thin crust, I was a little worried. But I went in anyway because Unilocal told me to and I’m so glad I did. Sappore’s sells whole pizzas and by the slice so I got pepperoni and I know this is weird but anchovies and olives(someone once asked if I was pregnant when I ordered this…). The owner was incredibly friendly. I saw the guy in the back pulling out the pizzas and putting on the toppings. It took awhile(maybe 7 mins) since they had to throw on toppings and heat it up. I got it to go so they put my enormous pizza slices on plates and put it in a bag. I wish I had gotten a box but I think a box would have made the pizza less crispy. I took a bite of the anchovy pizza and was instantly smitten. The flavors were so on point! The crust was thin but crispy. And the anchovies were used sparingly so it wasn’t overly salty. I was really impressed. The pepperoni was also delicious but I wish it had more pepperoni. And more cheese(everything needs more cheese). I think in general, the toppings are sparse but the pizza dough and sauce are so good, I didn’t mind too much. I will definitely come back here if I’m ever craving pizza. It also helps that it’s only a few minutes from work.

I am always on a constant hunt for great pizza. Being relatively new to San Antonio, I have been seeking my go-to pizza spot and my search recently led me to Sapore’s. This pizza joint has lived up to my lofty expectations and standards of pizza that can be both a blessing and a curse. After walking in the front door, this place got positive marks right away for their counter and small table setup. Most of the best pizza I’ve eaten has come from some very unassuming places and Sapore’s made me feel right at home in this regard. They also scored points for their paper plates and napkins that are so thin they somehow make you feel dirtier instead of cleaner after using them. The pizza itself was very good. A large pepperoni($ 14) was enough for four people to eat comfortably. The pizza featured thinner, crispier crust; non-sweet sauce; greasy mozzarella and parmesan; and salty, smokey pepperoni. It definitely reminded me of the pizza I ate growing up in the Northeast. I also had the greek salad. In true pizza parlor form, it came with minimal toppings and the lowest quality vegetables. The greek dressing was very good and made the salad very enjoyable. The small salad was a perfect size for a pizza appetizer. All of this food came at a price that was extremely reasonable. Overall, this place brought back some great pizza memories with the way they prepare their pizza. There are kids running the kitchen, fountain drinks, below average service, but some great pizza. I may have found a new pizza place to call my own. If only it were a little closer to home.

This is now one of my favorite pizza places in San Antonio. The sauce is solid, the crust is perfectly thin and crispy, and the ingredients taste fresh. Also tried their tiramisu, which was delicious– I’m still thinking about it. Service was great. The owner is very friendly. The ambiance is laid back, family friendly. No frills shop. I’m so glad I finally tried this place. I absolutely recommend if you’re looking for Italian vs New York style-y pizza! Great pie!
