I have been going to Romance Nails ever since I moved to San Antonio two years ago. Christie is the AMAZING. She knows her stuff. I started off waxing only but have ventured out into nails as well. Couldn’t be happier. Somehow she always knows what I want even when I don’t. I have never left this place unhappy. By far, the best bang for your buck. If you want watery drinks and hokey ambiance, this is not the place. But if you want good quality, great prices and friendly, caring staff… you’ve got it.

Been going to Romance Nails for over 8 years. They take care of their customers, and if you’ve been more than a couple of times, they know your name and greet you like family. A couple of years ago, I’ve started taking my special needs daughter, and they treat her like a princess. I’m never disappointed when we leave after getting our nails done.

Definitely not a fancy place like a bunch of the other salons around but $ 40 for a mani pedi wasn’t bad so I tried it out. The colors are old and not plentiful and the art work on the walls is… interesting. They were nice and did a good enough job. It seemed clean and they cut the extra ingrown toe nail parts that most salons leave so I appreciated that. Definitely not a spa or luxury experience but for quick and cheap it’s a good deal.

This nail shop is wonderful mainly because of Christie and Tam. They are the owners and are incredibly sweet to everyone who comes in. Basically when you come in, you can tell everyone is like a family here. I have been coming to this nail salon for 3+years and will never go to anywhere else. I call Tam, master Tam because he can do nails so quick and perfect, it is amazing. Christie is also an amazing artist and has her artwork on the walls. She can do any design you want and can execute it perfectly. They are the best!

I love coming here to see Christie and Tam. They do a wonderful job. The other people in there not so much. Christie is so sweet and she definitely remembers her customers! I hadn’t been in for almost a year and she remembered me from 2 years ago when she did my nails for my wedding. Prices are good and typical for a nail salon. Not overpriced from what I’ve gotten done.

Christi and Tam are the reason I keep returning to this very simple salon. They recently upgraded their pedicure chairs, which are modern and provide a great massage. Most importantly, the product they use for Solar nails is quality. My nails last, without the usual lifting. The nail is made thin enough to look natural, but thick enough to be strong and endure the bumps and dish washing. Both are very talented in creating a colorful nail tip, but Christi is the one to request if you want freestyle art work on your nail. Pedicures are done with a sterile soak because the pedicurists line their basin with fresh, sanitized covers for every pedicure.(This is important to me because of the possible germs and bacteria that naturally generate in most pedicure basins.) I’ve been a regular patron for over three years because of their genuineness and friendly disposition.

I love Romance Nails! I have been going here for years. No, its not fancy and free wine and junk they give out at overpriced nail places. This is a small business that offers great service. They don’t charge as much as the other places down Culebra but they do a great job. Out of 30 times Ive gone, I only had one time where I wished my nails had looked a bit better. I think his name is Tran or Tuong or something but hes the best gel nail sculptur Ive ever had. I went in there once to take my old nails off and they did a great mani and free polish job for me. Anything I want for my nails no matter the strange request they will do it and do a great job. Ive had polish done there tons of times and it was never uneven or smeared or whatever the other reviewer said. That always makes me wonder about some reviewers because Ive gone dozens of times and no bad experiences.

Oh Good Lord– this was anything but romantic. Danky facility without air conditioning greeted me as I hesitantly walked in. I should have ran out. There were box fans a blowin’, and when I went to pick out my polish, I noticed that most of the polishes were cheap and old. The massage chair for the pedicure was broken(literally the remote had broken buttons on it) and it was not relaxing. Club music was thumping on the sh*tty sound system. The icing on the cake was my manicure. My nails ended up looking disgusting– polish uneven and gross. I waited for thirty minutes and it still wasn’t dry. I took it off as soon as I got home. I wish I could get my money back, but in lieu of this, I will simply warn all of you to NOTGOHERE.

Price for a basic pedi is $ 23 w/no tip. The place is clean but equipment is rundown. I sat in a massage chair that didn’t massage(broken). The treatment itself was okay. Paint job and rub down I did like but it was lacking in the nail shaping(crooked) and dead skin scrub off(needed more attention). Not going back to the place.

I really wanted to pamper myself while visiting the bro and this place was just down the street. Apparently finding a nail place in the«Great Northwest» is hard and I called a few places that only had one nail person and were appointment only. Weird. This place was okay. The equipment was a bit worn down and I had to let my girl know that the water was seriously boiling and burning my feet. She did a good job on the toes but the left a few of my nails a bit crooked. For $ 40 I could have gotten a full spa mani pedi with a massage, sea salt rub, wax dip thingy and a flower on my toes back at home NOT crooked nails and an okay job.

I am fairly new to the San Antonio area and had tried several different nail salons for my regular mani-pedi’s. After trying several other places and being let down, I asked ladies at my hair salon if they had any recommendations. One lady sent me towards Romance Nails, she said that nomatter who you get to service you they would do an immaculate job. That was about May of 2010 and I now am faithful to Romance Nails along with another friend who goes with me for our mani-pedi days. Christi is the owner and she is always happy and will always do what you ask of her(nail wise). She does fun designs, something I am finding out that not all nail places do. Their prices are average for the services and they will always be exceptional when it comes to returning your feet to smooth and touchable beautiful things. It is always a great experience, they treat you like family-it is literally the place where they know your name :)
