Saturday, September 5, 2015 I entered the Popeyes at Blanco &1604 in San Antonio, Texas about 7:45 pm. When I went up to the counter I was told(by a male employee) that they couldn’t accept credit payment because the credit machine was out-of-order. I ask if they could accept coupons, he said yes and I said I would like to use this coupon and to pay in cash, he laughed. I placed my order he took my $ 8.00 and gave me change. While I waited for my food another customer came in and he was told the same thing I was told about credit payments. He said he would have to go get some money and was then asked what he would like to order. He was being offered free food. I came to your establishment coupon in hand prepared to pay in cash. I have always been told that the man who is prepared has all the advantages. Not this time. My question is, do you prefer ethnic people or do you just prefer people who pay with credit rather than cash? I come to your store to use the coupon deals I receive in the mail. Yet by far, the best deal I have found, to date is, be an ethnic credit customer unprepared to pay in cash and you can get some free food. I don’t qualify for this great deal on two counts. If you are trying to insult your paying customers with this policy you couldn’t be doing a better job of it.

Went in at 1030 Saturday night they had a special on 10 piece mix so I wanted to order two the girl at the window said let me check told me to pull around so when I got to the window i was greeted by someone I think was the owner and he had taken control. The guy took my payment and gave me the chicken. When I got home it was almost 100% dark meat hardly a mix. I think he was cleaning out his chicken he had left. Never again.

Good, but for some reason the chicken tenders looked like they were almost pounded flat.

No one would answer the phone at this location. No menu shown on website. Nevermind! I’ll go somewhere else!

Pretty generically good fast food chicken. I love Popeyes fries too. The seasoning on the fries is really good. I enjoy both the mild and spicy chicken strips and the popcorn shrimp is good on Fridays during Lent. Their dipping sauces are decent too. No problems here, it’s a fast food restaurant that’s fast and generally pretty tasty.

Rip off. Don’t know if it’s because it’s under new management or bad management. But ordered a big order of red beans & rice. Were they out of containers? Because instead got a couple of little sides at no price discount with no explanation. At other times getting an order from the drive thru seemed difficult for them. Maybe like a good wine they will improve with time?

Food is good. I got the fish and popcorn shrimp combo. With the fries and a drink. But when I walked in this afternoon it took about 10 to 15 minutes for someone to take my order because there was only 3 people working 1 in the drive thru and the other people making the food. But after I ordered they made it quick which was good.

I have always loved Popeye’s for its red beans and rice side dish. But the general uncleanliness of the nearest location I knew of kept me from going very often. When a new store opened on Blanco just inside 1604, I was excited. I figured it had to be clean since it was new. I was right! This location is clean and lovely. I have been 4 or 5 times since last summer and I love it. The«mix your own» Coke dispenser is fun and I like the piped in music. Reminds me of two really memorable trips to New Orleans. I rarely eat fried chicken — except when I go to Popeye’s. The spicy chicken fingers are a decadent treat. As the jingle says, «Love that chicken from Popeye’s!» But I wish there were a few more mild dipping sauce choices. The combo of spicy chicken and spicy sauce could send a person running for a container of Rolaids! The restaurant is almost always empty which is nice but worries me – will it last? Navigating out of the parking lot to go south is a trick, but I’ll make the sacrifice.

The mild chicken was horribly over seasoned and too salty to eat. Since this was my first outing to this newly opened store, I thought I’d let the manager know there was a problem with this batch of chicken making it inedible. Instead, he told me they don’t use salt only seasoning and I must have bit into a clump if it. I explained even with the crust removed the meat itself was salty. He offered to replace it which is the last thing I wanted given the little bit I ate already made me sick. All I wanted was for the manager to acknowledge that since this was new staff maybe they had gotten something wrong and offer me a refund. I won’t bother to go into the other issues I had with this simple order. Just don’t waste your time going there.
