This is a great place. The service is always on point and the food is delicious. I highly recommend this place for the perfect night out. I’ve eaten many things on the nenu, and everything is super.

The location is really nice. However, my order came out incorrect and I don’t think the waitress dealt with that properly. When my drink was made with the wrong ingredients, she told me she could have the waiter make another one but it would taste the same. Then, my pasta came out with at least a spoon of too much salt.

We just had our 40th Anniversary celebration in the private room on Saturday night and everyone did a fabulous job for us. The food was excellent and all of our guests were impressed. We would highly recommend both the location as well as the staff for an event.

While we were eating dessert and drinking our coffee, our waitress brought the check to our table and bugged us 3 times to pay for it. It’s considered rude for a waitress to drop a check without the customer asking first. We can figure out you want to leave. If you do get the bill before asking for it, that’s waitress speak for«get out.» A tactic usually employed when a waitress wants to go home.

This evening my wife and I were leaving her nail spa and the amazing aroma of Piatti blasting from the exhaust vents directly over the walkway past their windows. This conveniently presented us with a rather interesting change of plans. Instead of our original plan to go to Whiskey Cake, we decided to try Piatti, a restaurant we had seen a few times and wanted to try. That aroma was amazing and we were hooked. We were seated outside, per our request, within a few seconds of arriving. It was a little warm but nice. We enjoyed the location and the atmosphere. We were given a basket of warm, sliced bread and a plate of oil and vinegar almost immediately upon being seated. The bread and oil/vinegar was good and had a tad bit more lemon zest than usual but it enhanced the flavor perfectly. Our server was attentive and had water out to us quickly as well as our cocktails. The water was very warm which was less than refreshing but honestly very European. The cocktails were great. My wife got an Amaretto Sour and I had a Manhattan. Both were delicious and perfectly mixed and balanced. Next came our Caprese Salad which was lack luster at best. We compared it to the one we had eaten at the Serafine in NYC. Bland and unappealing to the eye. Our entrees came out. My wife ordered the Pork Chop which was smothered in cheese, kind of unappealing. Once the cheese and pancetta blanket had been taken off, the chop was more edible but it tasted heavily of sage and cheap brown gravy. The scalloped potatoes were not bad, though heavy on the cheese as well. My order was the Flat Iron medium rare. The steak was most certainly blue rare. I do like rare steak so I ate it but it was not what I had asked for and there was very little flavor. The roasted potatoes and spinach were pretty good though the potatoes also were relatively tasteless. Interestingly enough, our server mentioned that they had recently switched from a strip steak to the flat iron which was poor choice in my opinion for the cost and style of restaurant. We also ordered a side to share of roasted Brussels Sprouts which was amazingly tasty. Ultimately, service was good and there were some tasty options but the food quality was sub par for a restaurant of its calibre. That mirrored the tacky, fake, battery operated candle on the table and the greasy, reused paper sleeve the receipt comes out in.

We moved to the Apartments at Eilan March 1st so having this restaurant has made life very wonderful. The food is great, the staff are totally charming(Eric & David specifically). The manager is very accommodating. We sometimes eat there and sometimes to go. Walking distance a great thing and my husband in a wheelchair usually makes things difficult but not with these people. They are the BEST!

Great place. Very close to Italian food in Chicago. This place has a great feel to it and the service was wonderful! Julian was a great bartender, we loved the bruschetta, rigatoni and spaghetti! Thanks for a great night! Tasty beverages, great atmosphere, wonderful food finished by amazing homemade limoncello! Looking forward to coming back to try the pizza !

I brought my girlfriend here for lunch a few days ago & we both really enjoyed the food, ambience, & service. We visited the La Cantera location near Eilan– very nice area which would have been perfect for outdoor dining if it wasn’t so windy. Carpaccio starter, pomodoro soup, and tagliatelle pasta were all great choices. The pasta«small» dish option was such a friendly portion and was more than enough for two. Definitely recommend it if you love shaved zucchini noodles. I will definitely be coming back.

My crazy beautiful family enjoyed a wonderful lunch this afternoon! I will gladly recommend Piatti’s to anyone that asks. I had a large group of people who was loud and boisterous yet we were handled with such class. Our server, Christine did an amazing job waiting on us. She was patient and attentive and we were all raving about her as we wrapped up our meals. And let me tell you! Every single person at my table(there was 12 of us) were extremely satisfied with our food. The presentation was on point and the flavors danced on our tongues. It was definitely a fabulous way to end the weekend!

Another great happy hour at Piatti at Eilan! A friend and I were early for dinner at another place in the area and decided to stop in for a cocktail. The environment is so nice and sleek but not pretentious, just the way I like it! We sat at the bar and the bartender was so nice and friendly. I had a really yummy Hemingway Daiquiri for $ 6! They also offer discounted beer and wine and great deals on apps which I have done before, but we didn’t tonight since we were headed somewhere else. Can’t wait to sit on the patio on a nice sunny afternoon, seems really lovely. I’ve also visited the location at the Quarry which is larger, louder and not as friendly. Good thing I live closer to La Cantera! Of COURSE I’ll be back!

I celebrated Christmas brunch with my girlfriends a few days before Christmas Day. We sat outside to enjoy the unusually warm weather and the beautiful decorations on the property. Overall, I had fantastic service, food, and ambiance — but the wine selection needs help! Highlights: I got the crab cakes with the Brussels sprouts and the tomato bisque soup. Everything was delicious, warm, and proportionate. Lowlights: I believe on the menu they had 3 wines by the glass per type of wine. Really? This is an Italian restaurant. I totally understand that part of this business decision is due to the restaurant trying to sell their private label brand, but c’mon, give your customers a choice! Bottom line: Great food, okay wine — I think that equals an average rating from me.

Moved to the area a couple of months ago and have really enjoyed the atmosphere here — lunch, happy hour and dinner. There are«a lot» of people that work there but only a few that matter — love Ross and his attention to detail. We own restaurants and are always looking for his quality of service. Happy to have him here. Keep up the good work!

This is the newest outpost at Eilan of the Piatti at the Quarry. Really nice location and an excellent patio in good weather make this quite a nice place to hang out, especially for happy hour. Service can range from brusque to very attentive and the food has been consistent. Shrimp in sambuca were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of Sambuca making them aromatic, yet not sweet, pizzetti are always well made and have a perfect amount of sauce and toppings to leave them chewy-crisp yet not soggy. Wine pours can be less than generous even on non-happy hour glasses, which is a bit of a pain. I have been less impressed with the dinner here than the one at the Quarry. The few occasions we had dinner, the fish was overcooked once and pasta mushy. Too hungry to send fish back the first time and pointing it out to the waitress elicited a response of «I like it well done» …because by all means its about the wait staff and not patrons. The pasta was sent back and fixed pretty quickly and was decent when redone. But it was over sauced. Overall reasonably decent place to hand out with a quaff and snacks and a chill patio!

Went to celebrate my twin sister and i’s birthday with a few friends. 8 total in our party. Open table doesn’t accept larger parties than 5 for some reason but we called and they accommodated us! They even had Happy Birthday on the menu which was a great touch! Service wise, I’d give our server a 3. Though he was polite and patient because we had a few late comers, he still forgot a lot of things. Also, we had mentioned to him we were ready to order at least 3 times and every time he left for some reason. More tea, needed something to write with or forgot something. Atmosphere was great, very dark and intimate. Our table was in the middle of the room though and it was close to the surrounding tables so the servers kept bumping into us, which was kind of annoying but I guess they had to accommodate us somewhere. Food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their food. My seafood stew was great. I tried a bit of my dates steak and it was nice and tender and perfectly seasoned. Tried some of the grilled salmon which was cooked perfectly. We also got dessert on the house for our birthday which was a nice touch! Will definitely be coming back :)!

The frustrating part of this venture was its hard to find location. I drove in circles, following my GPS. Finally I called the establishment and was told they are located within a resort near La Canterra Shops. The food itself was delicious. I ordered an Organic Chicken Breast served on top of a fresh vegetable hash. I think they served me the whole chicken there was so much food! A little pricey, but good food overall.

Social atmosphere and very friendly staff! I highly recommend the pork chops and salmon but would substitute the rice for brussel sprouts or mac & cheese(rice was undercooked). Good old fashions and excellent desserts!

So first impression was great! Valet quickly greeted us with a smile. Walk inside & it’s beautiful! Great patio seating & spacious indoor seating. Still impressed. We called ahead to say 9 of us were coming & upon our arrival the table was set & ready. Another thumbs up. This however is where things went down hill. We go to put our kids in the 2 high chairs they set up for us & they were dirty. So we go get antibacterial wipes & start cleaning the seats. Nobody offer to help or checks in. We sit down & pick up the kids menus to order for the kids & very are very dirty also. The tables are a beautiful wood with deep grooves… which are full of old food Mind you, this is noon on a Sunday, so more than likely all this mess is left over from Saturday So gross! We push the menus aside & order. First, the service is very slow. Not good for kids or for people wanting to eat & go. Plan to be there a while. The bread served was yummy. I got tomato basil soup & it was good. The wedge salad I got had way too much blue cheese on it, I ate maybe half. The kids pizza was good & the panini was good. The wait staff was very nice & well presented. The bathrooms were clean too. The music was much too loud in my opinion for a Sunday lunch. All in all we will not come back here unless it’s just adults & we have a lot of time. Oh & things have to be cleaner too!

Oh Em Gee! I don’t know if I was just ridiculously hungry when I came to this restaurant, but to me, the bread and olive oil/vinegar here are DIVINE. Although my mojito was underwhelming, the calamari more than made up for it. If you’re an Italian food aficionado, do yourself a favor and check this place out.
