I happened upon Lone Star when my usual place on Bandera just happened to be closed. I actually had no idea it existed until I was forced to search for other places. I’m really glad I did. Let me just take a tangent real quick, when I man walks into a barber shop and sees a woman cutting hair, his first instincts may be to wait for another chair to open. But trust me, when it comes to Jen… that chick is fierce. Her barber game is strong, just check out that barber pole tattoo on her arm. That’s commitment and you know when a barber speaks the lingo, can tell you the difference between an executive contour and just a contour, they know their stuff. The next test is how long they take on your hair. Nobody wants a ten minute head chop, you can go to super cuts for that, but Jen probably took 45 minutes at least. Beware though, her jokes are edgy, but will keep you on your toes and entertained. All that to say, I’ve found a new place and it was one of the best haircuts I’ve had.

This barber shop is AMAZING! The barbers are super nice and the atmosphere was very chill. You could tell that most of the customers were regulars and the barbers knew them by name. I was fortunate enough to get Jennifer. She literally had me laughing the whole time and I received an amazing cut! She asked a ton of questions and I felt completely comfortable with her. She has been cutting hair for ten years now and it shows. The other barber was very friendly and funny as well. I will definitely be returning to Lone Star Barber Shop.

Good old school barber shop. Got a cut and beard trim from Angel. I quickly told him what I wanted and he knew exactly what to do. Good conversation nice honest barbers who know what they are doing. Not some guys who just got a certificate from beauty school these are real deal barbers. They carry Layrite and Suavecito pomades and some beard products also. Tv and free wifi is a plus also. Will be back.

We got the lazy barber. A larger gentlemen that wears a golf hat and glasses. My boyfriend didn’t like his fade and kept asking the barber to take more off here and there. My boyfriend also asked for the barber to use scissors for the top. He lazily did so. The barber put gel in my boyfriend’s hair and made it look wet. He asked for a blow dry and the barber jokingly said no… but did it again quickly. There was no one waiting, but the barber just seemed very lazy to cut hair at 10:15am. We won’t be back.

It’s really hard to find a good barber where I live(South Bend, IN), but when I come home to SA I make it a point to get a nice cute before I leave. I went out of the box and came here based on the Unilocal reviews. They were all right! I set up a quick appointment and was seen on time. I must’ve came on a slower part of the day, but I was glad. The conversation in the shop was classic barbershop talk and very familiar. I liked the environment but, I’m going back for the cuts. I get a «vintage» regulation or undercut, but like the fade to be very gradual, kind of like a high and tight. This takes a while to do and some people just can’t even do it. When I explained what I wanted, all I heard was«Alright.» Next thing I know, I have an AWESOME haircut, complete with straight razor of the back and sides of my neck. When I get home in a few days, I’m definitely going back!

Look. This isn’t one if those man-spas where you can get your nails did while you sip a latte. This is a barber shop. A place where men go to get their hair cut. A place with sports on the TV or rockabilly on the radio. A place where you can cuss and tell stories and laugh. These guys, and one kick-ass woman, know how to cut hair and call your bullshit. That’s cool. That’s all I want. Make me look good and send me on my way!

These guys are the real deal. You get a great haircut, a straight razor neck shave and for an affordable price. The shop is inviting and the conversation better. They also carry different pomades for the fella’s hair. I bought Suavecito but they also carry others. my barber is been cutting hair for the longest and its a cool old school cat. Check them out, i guarantee you will dig it!

These guys are simply the best. The jokes down to earth way they tell it like it is. Jen/Gerard\ and Dave the Lover are all great people. I get a great haircut and the abuse all done in fun is free. Vato’s beware,

Great barbers! Flashback to days gone by for the feel you get here. Not pretentious, real barbers, and a comfortable atmosphere. Have you been to those barbershops that are trying to re-create the past? Have you paid the $ 25-$ 35 to do so? Not here! For less than 20 bucks you get a solid good haircut from real barbers. Here’s a sidenote about the one female barber here, Jen. Don’t you dare question her ability as a real barber. She has some impressive ink on her arms showing her dedication to her profession.
