La Parrilla is a hidden gem down South Flores. I am ashamed of how many times I have overlooked this place and gone anywhere else basically. So the low down. La Parrilla is not pretty, not spacious, and is a bit run down. But if you want breakfast tacos like you grandma makes, you need to make a stop immediately. The tortillas are homemade and perfectly fluffy. The bean and cheese taco is a perfect bean and cheese! Enough said. .The one potato and egg taco I had because the ran out of potatoes was perfectly cooked and immediately wondered if I went to buy them potatoes would the make me more? My picky little one ate three tacos and my,” I don’t want tacos” friend ended up ordering another two tacos to go.

This has been my favorite restaurant since I can remember. My dad introduced me to La Parrilla Azteca in the early 80’s, I was probably 3 years old. Last time I was here was in December of 2013 and it is still good. The place still looks the same as it did when I was a child only the Mrs. Pacman console is gone. My favorite tacos are the al carbon tacos. All I add is salt and salsa and I am in heaven. The taste as never changed and the flour tortillas are soft, warm, and they have that right amount of flour on the surface that lets you know they are homemade. The carne asada is very tender and flavorful. I finally tried the other tacos because I was nagged that I needed to «try new things.» This is one of the few times I was glad I did. Carne guisada with cheese and the machacado were excellent. Damn excellent. They have crushed ice. I love that too. With a Coca-Cola. Please do yourself a favor and try this little place. It is a tiny, family-owned joint. The hours are strange so make sure you know before you go. If I could give this place 6 stars I would.
