So good. Fluffy homemade tortillas. And those chips: deep fried, crispy homemade corn tortillas.

This is for the service. I show up to order tacos and eat in the mini restaurant at 2 pm. The lady at the counter tells me I cannot eat at the restaurant because they close at 3??? She is only taking to go orders. RUDE.
Really it doesn’t take me an hour to eat 3 tacos.

Best breakfast taco I have EVER had. Fresh ingredients on thick homemade corn (and flour) tortillas. Absolutely amazing. The tacos are also huge, so one was more than enough!

Best breakfast tacos in town. Their homemade corn tortillas are thick and yummy. The people are friendly and there is a ton of options for breakfast. Walk up to the counter and someone will ask you what you want. Order a barbacoa on thick corn and thank me later.

Since I was in San Antonio, I decided to get some chicharonnes to bring back to Austin. I entered Bandera Molino and was met with a very luring aroma that told my stomach to tell me, get something to eat. The menu is on a board on the wall. I ordered the carne guisada plate with refried beans and Spanish rice. Bandera Molino has great homemade flour and corn tortillas and they’re served hot with your meal. I had the flour tortillas. The rice and beans were nothing to write home about but the carne guisada was screamin’!! Extraordinary! Large cubes of stewed beef in a very savory gravy. I washed it all down with a nice cold Pineapple pop from Mexico. Oh, and I didn’t forget my chicharonnes which I am enjoying now.

When you walk in you can immediately smell the goodness. It was early afternoon when we went and we were worried that they stopped serving breakfast, but the staff was eager to take our order and had no problem making us breakfast tacos. I ordered a bean, egg, and cheese taco and a potato, egg, and cheese taco on flour (Since then I have heard many good things about their homemade corn tortillas and I will be trying them next time.)
After we ordered and paid at the front counter we went to the dining area. I’m glad my boyfriend new what was up because I would of not known that there were serve yourself chips. He grabbed the perfect amount of chips for us and they were fresh and warm. They had two types of salsa on each table. I was brave and decided to try the green salsa, It was hot but manageable.
There was a server that brought coffee and our tacos. When the tacos arrived I could tell just by looking at them that they were going to be good. I took the first bite and it melted in my mouth, amazing! I appreciated each and every bite especially because the last breakfast tacos I had came from a chain restaurant (las palapas). These tacos were definitely in a different category all together.
The taco was perfect and it filled me so I was able to save the other taco for lunch! If you are looking for authentic Mexican please stop by here. You will not regret it.
