Beef and Broccoli is excellent! Fiancé had general Tso chicken with fried rice. So good also. By far the egg drop soup is the best I’ve had. Great food at a great price point. We have found our new favorite Chinese place! Highly recommend! Also the service here is great. We’ve had three people check on us, refill drinks and double check the food was great and we had everything needed to enjoy our meal.

Today for lunch I tried the garlic chicken with Eggplant, with soft noodles and hot and sour soup, the chicken /eggplant was delicious and not spicy at all. My previous visit about two weeks ago I had the Gereral Tso chicken which was extremely spicy but also delicious . On my today’s visit I found the hot and sour soup to be very good and filling especially with the won ton chips crushed up and added to the soup. Much better than their won ton soup

I don’t normally do Chinese food, but at the suggestion of the lady we decided to stop in for a late lunch. Don’t let the outside throw you off. At 3p on Thursday we were the only ones there. So our order was taken quickly and meal prepared in a decent time. First out was the egg drop soup. Some places make this a little too think for my liking, not here. It was Flavored great and light. I would order it again. Our waitress must have been watching because soon after I pushed the bowl aside she came to pick it up and brought out my meal. The generals chicken Still had it’s crunch, but was sauced very well. It had a bit of spice and tang to it. I also had the chicken fried rice, which went well with the generals chicken. In all i would make the trip out here to dine again. The food was great. The service was spot on. The price is decent. The owner even came out and asked how the meal was. Give it a try!

The price is right and I’m a fan of their General Tso Chicken and egg drop soup. However, my husband and I went in for dinner last night and I ordered off the«Chef’s Menu» and got Pork and Asparagus. There was no further description. The food came out and had nothing that looked like asparagus in it. Told the waitress that I believe that I had gotten the wrong thing and she was fairly certain that it was Pork and Asparagus and confirmed what I ordered on the menu(no picture, just pointed to the name Pork and Asparagus). I still wasn’t convinced since I know what asparagus is and this was not it. I even contemplated it being white asparagus but, no, it just didn’t fit. I finally asked to see the packaging that what they were claiming was asparagus came in. It said bamboo shoots… They still said it was asparagus after that and said that it was slang for them??? If that’s true then they need to change the name and add a description in their menu or just serve frickin’ asparagus. Moral of the story don’t expect to get any asparagus if you order Pork and Asparagus. I took a picture and I’ll see if I can get it uploaded.

I’ve been here twice now to order take-out. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is like a typical Chinese take-out place. So far, I’ve ordered: 1. Ma Po Tofu: Dinner portions are HUGE. It was enough to feed me for about 2 – 3 meals. The tofu was a bit tough, but the sauce was pretty good. It’s different from what I’m used to, but still spicy and still pretty delicious.(But the sodium content is off the charts) 2. Kung Pao Chicken: Dinner comes with fried rice, an eggroll, and a choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup. The soup was surprisingly really good, and the fried rice was delicious. I did find the chicken to be too oily though, and they include a lot of peanuts(which I’m not a huge fan of). But overall, a decent meal for the price. 3. Milk Tea w/Tapioca: They use powder to make their drinks. The milk tea was more than I expected, but a bit too sweet for my tastes. However, DONOT get the tapioca. Just DONOT. The pearls seem like they’ve been frozen and recooked 4 – 5 times. The pearls are hard to chew and have the texture of having been chewed and spit out by another person. If you really want a drink, just get the drink without the tapioca pearls.

Came here last week and they gave me the wrong food. I called and they admitted to giving me the wrong food. They wanted me to go all the way back and give them the food. I told them I couldn’t because I was back at work. I was told to keep it in the freezer and bring it back when I wanted to get it replaced. I told them that was ridiculous. I went back today to get my replacement meal. The man refused to give me my soup. He argueed that the soup wasnt wrong. I argued by saying I had a dinner not a lunch. So the least you can do is give me the soup to compensate for the smaller portion. The old guy at the window gave me the soup. I said thank you. HETOLDMETOGOFU** MYSELF… WOW I dont care how good or cheap the food is. Totally unacceptable. Ill never go back and i will spread the word about my experience

I got the lunch special on drive-thru the other day, sesame chicken. I wasn’t that wild about the flavor, seemed too sweet. Also I didn’t get soup with it, which is sometimes the policy for take-out but still. Also I would have liked to get lo mein noodles instead of rice, but the guy was a little abrupt in taking my order and didn’t really give me much of a chance. So it was ok, but I won’t be going back with all the other local Chinese options.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review on this joint!!! I’m admittedly not a fan of Americanized Chinese… at all… the overly thick sugary sauces or overly brown & salty… bleck! Not to mention my MSG allergy. I don’t eat it, BUT… My BFF from kindergarten’s aunt owns King’s Bowl so I had to try it… their menu is a great mix of authentic Chinese dishes(I guess) & Americanized choices, but better tasting & quality than most«cheap» joints around SA. The inside of the restaurant is quite nice & cozy. I usually loathe egg drop & hot & sour soup(reminds me of vomit after taste, eww)…but I LOVE King’s Bowl hot & sour soup! It’s ahmazing! I’m always sad when the little bowl that comes with the combo is gone. I could eat a vat of it with those crunchy wontons. The orange chicken & beef & eggplant are my fav go to/crave-worthy dishes. The General Tso is ok; didn’t care for the Kung Pao. The egg rolls are pretty dang good, too. My other kindergarten bestie swears by the Lo Mein. One day, I’ll go with my friend when she’s in from Chicago… she says when her family shows up, they bring out a parade of goodness. Yes, please!

Having lived in China I am rather picky about my Chinese food. I gave kings bowl a shot two months ago and fell in love with it. This place is great and the people are extremely nice. The food keeps surprising me with how good it is, how inexpensive it is and how big the sizes are. My recommendations, try the dumplings, bubble tea and General Tso’a chicken.

Meals are expertly prepared with the finest ingredients. My favorites include the Sauteed Beef with Green Beans and the Orange Chicken. A must try are the Bubble Drinks made with your choice of Tapioca pearls or jelly. Trust me, they’re good!

I figured I should write an update after a while. I still really enjoy eating at this restaurant. That very first meal was the best meal I’ve ever had there in-restaurant. We usually order takeout and pick-up in their drive-through. Food occasionally inconsistent in taste/quality as well as in the actual order itself. From the non authentic menu, I really enjoy getting the sesame chicken, and SO likes jalapeño beef. But then we’ll get home and we’re missing a soup or eggroll, which is always disappointing. Bubble tea is always yummy. And the service is still overall so friendly. I probably should have waited to post my review since the excitement has worn off; I wouldn’t say it’s in my top 3 favorite in San Antonio anymore. I still definitely recommend for anyone living in the Medical Center area who is wanting Chinese. This is so far still the best in the area!

Decided to chance the unknown bubble tea as no reviews really cover it in detail. This is for Bubble Tea Only, sorry but I don’t do Chinese food. Lol To emphasize on other reviews the inside is indeed much nicer than indicated by the outside. They have a very nice location close to medical center but far enough to avoid most of the ambulance traffic. The interior has been completely redone professionally with marble countertops new paint everything looks very nice and clean. Bathrooms are single toilet, very nice upgraded just like the dining area and they even have hand dryer instead of paper towels. Upon entering I was offered a sample of a smoothie bubble tea that had just been made, flavored pineapple. I liked it enough to get a pineapple and coconut flavored smoothie for my daughter, and my typical Thai tea shakin for me. Watching them make the bubble tea was interesting, and it does take a while so come prepared to wait and don’t expect to be able to grab one from the drive thru. The flavor menu is in the flip book on the counter by register, with all the options being the same price of $ 4.50 and the card machine minimum of $ 10. While my classic flavor preferences taste very different and sweet here, I’d recommend this place over most others if you want an amazing smoothie experience for your bubble tea as they include ice cream in the cream blended version and wow does it make it rich. Most flavor options are from powder, even the avocado, so you can ask for less sweet since they aren’t pre sweetened syrups that give these drinks their flavor. Even me and my sweet tooth felt this place made them as more of a liquid dessert than a bubble tea snack item as I’m use to. Doesn’t make it any less good, just not my daily go to.

My absolute favorite restaurant in San Antonio. I have only ever ordered from their authentic menu, so that’s all I can speak to. The mapo tofu is my favorite dish here, and it is the closest thing to what can be found in Chengdu, China itself. I spent time there, trust me. Unlike practically any other Chinese place around here, they actually put in the Sichuan pepper for that mouth-numbing awesomeness. The other dishes I order consistently here are the«beef and tripe medley», «fish slices in soybean paste», and sauteed watercress(they don’t always have it available, but when they do…). For appetizers, the«wontons in chili oil» are a must-have. Save the chili oil to add an extra kick to your other food too! Another thing they do better than any other place is the bubble tea. They make it out of fresh ingredients. For example, one of my favorites is the avocado bubble tea. I was shocked as I watched them grab a real avocado, cut it open, and spoon it out into the blender. Nowhere else in San Antonio that I know of does this. To top it all off, their service is excellent and efficient. This is not the place to come if you want things like lemon chicken or some kind of egg foo young — go to an American Chinese place for those things. Come here if you want a sampling of the best authentic Sichuan dishes available in San Antonio.

Steamed dumplings were lukewarm on the outside and cold inside, and we’re sitting in a pool of water. Sure they’re frozen, but at least make an effort to pretend to try. The fried rice was good but not worth another trip back. They gave me one soy sauce and NO fortune cookies. They really could have used all the fortunes and luck to make their restaurant not bland. Disappointing to say the least.

yuck. I really wanted some Chinese one night and this particular location was near my house. I ordered the shrimp egg foo yung and a side of shrimp fried rice, which is my staple at all Chinese restaurants. I choose to do take-out and it was ready within 10 min and pretty affordable $$ hence the two stars. The shrimp fried rice was OK, nothing special. The egg foo was disgusting. The dish came with 3 patty’s however they were SOAKED in grease!!! usually what makes egg foo yung super great is the gravy. The bravery tasted like they dumped soy sauce packets into a to go cup, very disappointing. i unfortunately, I will not be back!!!

Probably one of the best Chinese places around and one of the best lunch specials around. Where else are you going to get soup meal and a egg roll for less than $ 8? They’re sauce… from orange to general tao to lemon… they’re all exquisite and splash in your mouth with flavor. Service is fast. The renovations inside make you feel out of place when picking up a to-go order in sweat pants and flip flops. It’s super nice inside and I wouldn’t mind taking a date there. Just stop reading and GOFORLUNCH.

I would really give this place 2.5 stars, but I can’t give it 3 because that would mean that it was okay. I drive by this place every time I go to HEB, so I thought, the heck, why not give it a shot. I’m sad to say this place was extremely disappointing. Well… their hot and sour soup was actually pretty good, but the entrée? I got half fried noodles and half eggplant with shrimp and it was just… eh. Every time I bit into the noodles, it was different. Sometimes it was hard and crunchy(I don’t think it’s suppose to have that texture), and other times it was extremely soft, so needless to say, the texture was just a bit confusing. My eggplant was drenched in oil and I could see a puddle of grease settling in my plate, but the shrimp was pretty good. Overall, 2 stars because of the strange noodles and the oily eggplant. Wasn’t exactly the best meal

so, we’ve lived here for almost 15 years and have never eaten here, UNTIL a couple of weeks ago. Wow, it’s really good. my husband, daughter, and I went for dinner while my son was at practice. my husband ordered the lemon chicken and i ordered the new dish they have, sauteed green beans with chicken. mmmmm everything was very tasty, the tea was really fresh and sweet too. I was not expecting the green beans to have so much onions, but i’m only saying this because i’m not a fan of onions. only minor minor complaint is that the egg drop soup, while tasty, was a bit too thick. the prices were very good for dinner and they looked even better for lunch. Will definitely be returning soon! PS: it was also very clean and neat inside, the server was very pleasant and polite.
