I’d been seeing Julian to cut and color my hair for at least 10 years before he moved to SAT. I am so happy to see that he is STILL making the world a beautiful place with his artistic skills. All you Austin folks are so lucky to have him. I highly recommend seeing him, he is the most amazing hair colorist you’ll ever know.

Have moved away from the San Antonio area years ago and have never been able to replace this gifted stylist. Whenever I know I will be close to the area, I make sure I book a visit with him. He takes control of the room and knows the color and cut I need almost instinctively and I know I can sit back and trust him. A lovely person and a talented hair stylist!

In microeconomics there is a theory of comparative and absolute advantage. Stick with me on this one.
To paraphrase the theory, one has comparative advantage if the opportunity cost of making one more unit of A is less than if a competitor made the same unit A. Absolute advantage states that the competitor should just stop making A and find something else to do.
Julian Vann Studios has an absolute advantage over all the other salons in SAT. Let’s face it, we go to a salon for two things: to get our hair cut/​colored/​styled and what have you and for the conversation. To talk, chat or as an ex girlfriend of mine referred to it: for therapy.
In the output of making us look good Julian has the comparative advantage as his craftsmanship with a pair of scissors and comb are unmatched in this city. With scissors that cost more than a monthly sub-​prime mortgage payment Julian creates a hair style that fits your persona and physique thus making us look and feel our best with merely a snip here and there.
With this output the conversation/​therapy is just as precise. As your hair is being trimmed or colored Julian inserts rapt conversational pieces that makes you feel as if you were chatting with your best friend and doing nothing else. In doing so, Julian has managed to provide us an example of how microeconomic theories are applied to real life.
