This is one of the coolest, most innovative courthouses I’ve ever been in. It was originally designed as the United States Pavilion at the HemisFair World’s Fair. It was named after Judge Wood, who was murdered in Alamo Heights by Woody Harrelson’s father. Check out the exterior of this place– it’s completely round! Aahh, that’s the wheel of justice. It’s exterior is covered in travertine, and notice how the veining of the travertine matches up all the way up the building, through a really thin part of the peripteral columns. Parking can be a bit challenging here. There’s metered parking along Durango(I mean Cesar Chavez). It’s really cool that they redid this building and turned it into something really cool! I wouldn’t recommend checking out the place if you don’t have to, but it’s a nice sight!
