Such an odd name for what is essentially a tex mex café. If you’re in the area, you’ll likely drive past it several times during non-peak dining hours and not know whether it’s even open, much less the tasty joys that are inside. I was working at a nearby school and didn’t give this place a second thought until a coworker insisted I go with her. It’s kind of a hole in the wall shack, which is potentially a scary place to visit but usually a score in terms of awesome home-quality food. I got an enchilada plate with a puffy taco and everything was phenomenal– from the family-recipe enchilada sauce to the fresh-made taco and fantastic refried beans, nothing was short of great. My coworker is a regular here and we received fabulous and attentive service. Had I stayed in the area, I probably would have put it in my regular rotation as well. Everyone in SA is picky about their enchiladas, and these get a thumbs up from me: cheesy, saucy, and large, without adding in any funky new ingredients or trying to mess with an old staple.

You wouldn’t be able to tell just by the name but this is a Mexican restaurant on the SE side of SA. Their food is good and service is usually excellent also. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is cuz thy have weird hours. Lol
