Probably the only IHOP I’ve been to my whole life with decent service. I’ve been here twice; both times the staff was very friendly. First time was super busy, so the food took a long time to come and our waiter forgot about us after we asked for napkins. But he was so friendly I still considered it a good experience. The second time wasn’t busy at all, so the food came quickly on top of the staff being friendly and attentive. Restaurant was also relatively clean. Seriously, even if you’re closer to the one on Stone Oak, it is so worth the drive to come up here.

Literally the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. If I could give it negative stars I would. When we first walked in the hostess rolled her eyes at us because she had to clean a table for us to sit at. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone who hated her job THAT much. My fiancé asked the other hostess if she hated her job and she said«she hates anything that walks» hmm wrong job to have then. Only eat here if you don’t mind waiting over 30 minutes to receive your food from the time you order it. I wish I was exaggerating. Oh, then it’s cold too… weird. I usually love ihop but I’ll definitely be going to a different location next time.

The IHOP franchise should be embarrassed. Horrible customer service. Can’t problem solve. If you have more than 4 people in your party, the staff won’t know what to do since very few on the tables here seat more than 4 people. I guess that is what express means. Small, dainty setting. When we went there they were stumped by the fact that we had 4 adults and 2 kids, and we waited for 30 minutes while they decided which two tables to pull together. The hostess could not problem solve so instead she just forgot about us and when we asked again she got a little rude and asked«This is an IHOP express, sir. What do you expect?» and asked us to wait longer. So instead we left. I am not going money to a place that doesn’t want us there. Only go there if you have a need to be treated poorly. instead, we went to a local bakery and had much better service, setting, and food.

Excellent service today! The food was good, the coffee was brewed fresh, and the lady preparing our food came over to ask a question she had about my order. I thought that was really nice. I will definitely go back to this location :)

This place needs to train their staff on what customer service means. We have been here twice in the past year and have been extremely disappointed in both the service and appearance of the staff. We actually wrote our order down ourselves the second time to avoid the mistakes and an hour and a half wait from the staff ordering the wrong items the first visit. 6 months later new staff new, management, same horrible service. That will be the last time visiting the TPC location.

Despite the horrible reviews, this ihop is currently a pleasant experience. Don’t let reviews older than 2014 hold any validity, because this location is under new management and WOW, what a difference. The old manager just didn’t have standards as high as the new one. Currently the staff is friendly and helpful, and the food will get to you way quicker then in the past. I get it, trust me… why bother when there’s another one down the street? I’m just here to tell you that I’ve seen the changes and the old reviews really don’t apply anymore at all, and let’s be honest here… it ISANIHOPPEOPLE, I don’t know about you, but I don’t exactly walk into any ihop or Denny’s expecting high quality food, it’s pretty much a step above fast food, take it or leave it.

Hesitant to go because of previous reviews, but we weren’t disappointed. Service was fast, staff were polite and pleasant, place is clean. Had a good experience.

Based on our visit this morning. We had an excellent experience! My mom and I went in over to the IHOP around 10 am Monday for a yummy breakfast and it was just that! Greeted right away several times, we were sat immediately, ordered and only waited only about 10min for our food– mind you this is IHOP quality food so don’t expect grandmas homemade fixins’, but for a quick breakfast it was great! I had the sausage and gravy biscuits and mom breakfast combo #2 and regardless of whether it was microwaved, truthfully it taste good and came to our table promptly! The waitress was very pleasant– the staff looked busy and content with tasks. This IS an IHOP express so don’t expect fast service on the weekend becaus it’s a smaller version of their larger restaurants! Clean and brand new restaurant I didn’t see any problems :)

DONOTSPEND A DIMEHERE… We have tried this place three times and this morning we walked out. Pancakes burnt to a crisp with a plastic texture. So they brought us two waffles that were disgusting. Completely Inedible… I know these companies can get away with a lot down south as these fat rednecks will eat anything but this place has to go. Bring in a family diner or even a Burger King for a nice sausage croissant but serving this stuff is just gross.

The food was ok but they need a bigger space! Oh and I don’t appreciate the waitress flirting with my fiancé in front of me. If I go back I will make sure she is not my waitress. She was gone for long periods of time after we were clearly finished and waiting on the check and didn’t get me my coffee the entire time.

I’m really surprised at the poor reviews this place has gotten. I’ve visited several times over the course of the past 12 months, each after picking up tired and hungry kids from a weekend of Crossmen DCI(drum corps) camp. Our most recent visit was yesterday. Had I checked Unilocal before our first visit, we probably would have driven right by.(Try that sometime when you have a carload of hungry teenagers!) At that time, we had no idea what 281 north of SAT had to offer — all we knew is we were famished! So on our first visit we pulled in upon seeing the IHOP sign, arriving right at what should be a peak time — 12:30 on a Sunday afternoon. In each of our visits, we have been greeted and seated immediately. We always show up for Sunday lunch, given our camp timing. The service has been consistently friendly and prompt — any waitress who can keep my glass of iced tea from drying out gets an A+ in my book, and they have nailed it every time. The fare is typical IHOP: Cheap, decent, and nicely filling. Now that we know it’s there and we’ve enjoyed consistently good food and service, this is becoming our automatic stop as we head home up 281 from San Antonio. As for the plethora of poor ratings — this is one establishment on which me and my fellow Unilocalers will have to agree to disagree.

Terribly slow service! Workers complaining about each other in front of customers and manager(Tyler) was no where in sight.

Didn’t even think to read the reviews before going — my 2 year old and I just sort of ended up here one morning while out running errands. The horrible reviews don’t surprise me a bit — our experience was crap from the moment we walked in. After standing at the hostess stand for a few minutes while all four servers worked at their area(2 feet away) I asked if we were supposed to seat ourselves. I was given a brisk«No» and continued to be ignored. Then we were finally seated at a table which didn’t allow for the high chair my son needed to be remotely near the table because of the way the legs were facing. I asked our server about it and she said, «Yeah, all the tables are like that.» Um, okay… So if you know that they don’t fit either change out your high chairs or seat us at a booth. Duh. After moving to a booth(at my request, Miss Brainiac couldn’t manage to deduct that notion on her own) we waited another ten minutes for another server to come by and take our order. 30 minutes later and after 3 other tables who came in after me had eaten, payed their bill and left, I grabbed my purse, my son and went to the register. I told them that I wanted to settle my bill for the coffee I had purchased, and they didn’t know how to do that so I got my coffee for free(whoop-dee freaking do). The woman who checked us out told me that our ticket was entered 15 minutes after we ordered, which tells me that they were pissed off that I had asked about the seating and then requested a new table and were trying to get back at me. The place had 18 tables, 4 servers and was half full — there’s no other explanation. Do yourself a favor — if you see this location, keep driving. Seriously. I can’t believe that with all the negative reviews management has yet to address the problems.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Sucked the 1st time… gave it another try. sucked the 2nd time… one last try for the 3rd time because managment turned it into a «regular» Ihop instead of an «express»…and it SUCKEDEVENWORSE!!! Service was horrible the 1st time because there was a bunch of teenagers working. that apparently weren’t aware they were on the job, because they were acting as though they could not care less that there were customers present and that needed service and attention. Food was sub-par. The second time… was almost like déjà vu… same bad service… same sucky food. Third and finally time I will ever step foot in that establishment… the food was what was lacking. My mom ordered tilapia(fish)…and it was RAW… not just a little… but completely inedible. There seems to be no food quality assurance, what so ever… I mean, really. THISPLACEHASGOTTOGO!!! Its in a good area… very nice outdoor shopping center… surrounded by pretty good restaurants. It is a rotten apple… and I would not want it to rot up the rest of the bunch. Seriously, someone has got to get rid of this place. so someone else has a chance to buy up the location and make good use of it. STAYAWAY!!!

What a piece of **** this place is! The waiter spilled coffee and juice all over my pants, shirt and socks. I stayed because my young daughters were hungry. Then, all I get is $ 5 off my check! I shouldn’t have had to pay for the meal at all. The manager didn’t even come to the table to apologize. The air conditioner is always at full blast(imagine sitting there for an hour with your clothes wet) and the service is notoriously slow. I will never go back to this awful place and recommend nobody does either!

The food was typical IHOP — nothing spectacular. The hostess and the waitstaff seemed to be poster children for Indifferentitis. No welcoming smile or greeting. Next time I’ll drive the extra 5 minutes for our usual place.

We went for lunch today after two months of being there. It is an IHOP Restaurant now. Wait to be seated. Waiter service. It took a bit longer than before to get our food. Prices went up. Food still good and fresh. Service was good. Smoking permitted in certain areas. I’m not sure I saw this sign before it changed to restaurant. It sure does feel different in there. A good change? Perhaps. Time will tell for sure.

Honestly, if somethings working a certain way, why change it? I guess IHOP corp. was looking to target a market segment more geared towards a quick, on the go, time-conserving kind of meal. I can’t say I’m a fan. You walk in, order at a counter, seat yourself, then wait for your food. The limited menu really constrained me from what I would usually order at a tradition ihop. I hear that this is a test-market for this restaurant-type. Hopefully, it does not expand to other cities, for the good of the IHOP name. However, the food does come out quick, as you would expect. Yet, the quality that it lacks, as compared to its traditional, «non-express» version. It just feels like a less-friendly diner. Almost like they are just there to get you in, get you your food, and get you out. I cannot say I’m a fan. Probably wont be going back unless everything else in the area is closed or standards drop drastically. Maybe there was a reason this location wasn’t on Unilocal!till now. Needed to be said. Not my cup of tea. May be for others, though.? eeyah.
