I love Hungry Howie’s pizza. Staff is always friendly when you come in and quick. Love the flavored crust. They never disappoint me.

The food is always delicious, but the staff is bad. Took over an hour to get one Large pizza and order of howie bread delivered. Food arrived cold and the driver had to ask me for a pen because he was unprepared. Maybe it was just a bad day.

Used online ordering for delivery. I thought I’d try out there deep dish pizza for my first hungry Howie experience. Estimated time of delivery was 45 minutes. It was delivered in 30 minutes :). Pizza was prepared just the way I ordered it. It was still steaming hot when I opened the box. Overall taste was pretty good. I’ll definitely try them again!

So we were wary about trying a new pizza delivery… aside from our usual papa johns or pizza hut, etc. We got one of those menus on our door and I saw that they had some good deals(2 medium, one topping pizzas with 16 piece bread sticks for only $ 15!) and thought we could just go ahead and try it. Result: easy online ordering, very quick delivery, great price, the food was very fresh, and best of all… the food was sooo delicious! This is now our go to pizza delivery place, and its been so awesome each time!

My #1 pizza place while we lived in San Antonio; less expensive than the chains, and so much better! We always got the garlic and herb crust, and switched between the deep dish and hand-tossed because they’re both SOGOOD. Now we live in Dallas and the closest one is almost an hour away… Not out of the question :]

Love hungry howies and their crust options. Howies pizza has a great idea in spicing up the crust, literally. A lil twist on something that is usually neglected. Pizza is flavorful and satisfying. Only negative is I have to specify well done pizza otherwise it comes out underdone, by a huge amount, not just a, little but. Other than that, they usually have pretty good deals online every week and a very reasonably priced!

I love Hungry Howie’s! Prices are great. Food is even greater. From their pizza to their calzones to their salads, everything is superb. Too bad there’s not a store near my house but luckily there is one by my job(two stores total in SA). I eat it at least twice a week. I won’t go back to those large pizza chains again.

Great staff and always get my order right! My favorite thing to get is the pizza sub! So delicious!

I tried Hungry Howie’s for the first time today. I wasn’t too impressed. The pizza was ok, but not good. I gave 3 stars for the price, but I think the pizza is 2 stars.

I give 4 stars because the cajun crust Is amazing but the main reason why I buy a big pizza is to have a little left over… and this pizza is horrible left over. It is rubbery and even when you reheat it in the oven it is still gross. Either way, the owner of thos franchise is a nice christian man and goes to church with my mom and always takes care of us if we have any issues. Like I said tho, AMAZING when it is fresh!

My boyfriend has always been a big fan of pizza and raved about this place to me. He has this place programmed in his phone, that’s how much he likes it. He told me I absolutely had to try it. My first time eating the pizza from Howies, I didn’t know what the fuss was about. I mean, it was good, but not something to go crazy over. Then I had it again and it knocked my socks off. We get the garlic crust and it is delicious! The Howie bread is awesome too. It seems like the more I go there, the more I love the pizza. They have some great deals($ 5 takeout special for a large pizza, I think). We live on the NE side, so we can’t get delivery but this might be a good thing otherwise we would be eating there way too much, lol.

The pizza has a great crust and you have multiple choices for the crust flavors. The toppings are always fresh and flavorful and the sauce is pretty good for a place outside of NYC. I’ve eaten at Hungry Howie’s many times and have never been disappointed, but there were times I would have enjoyed eating on site and not having takeout as my only option.

I love Howies! I seriously have them saved into my contact list! For me it is not the flavored crust that keeps me coming back. ITISTHECHEESE! I love the buttery rich smooth 100% mozzarella! I order out a Ham and Cheese baked sub twice a month! I also love the anti pasto salad and the 3 cheese Cheese Sitcks! They ONLY compliant I have about Howies is the little side of lettuce and tomato they serve with the baked subs, can you please stop that? Those dang things only sit in my fridge for weeks and weeks on end and are annoying :) All in all I love Howies they are consistent with friendly, quick and delicious service.

Hungry Howies keeps me coming back for one particular reason: FLAVOREDCRUST. That crust is scrumptious and is available in flavors like garlic, ranch or cajun just to name a few. At $ 6.48 for a carry-out you can’t go wrong.

When I relocated to the Alamo City, by way of Detroit — I thought I would never sample Hungry Howies again… They don’t serve a quality pie that you look forward to on pay day — but offer your a stellar 5 dollar large pizza with a flavored crust. A proletariat pizza that rivals any large pizza deal you’re going to find in the city.

Garlic bread was pretty good. The pizza almost tasted frozen to me. Maybe with a flavored crust things could look up, but based on the original, plain version of the crust, I’d rather have Papa’s or even Domino’s. If you don’t like Papa’s or Domino’s, or if you’re from up Michigan-ish way, maybe you’ll dig it.

Not bad for a joint in the neighborhood! The guy taking orders on the phone was fun and amusing. He gave good suggestions, too. We ordered the 3 cheese sticks. Pretty tasty! We had a medium(8 slices) pizza: no flavored crust, just regular. This kinda saddened me but I deferred to my friend’s wish for original crust. The crust is doughy and not in the slightest bit greasy or moist. We don’t care for meat on our pizza, so we topped it with mushroom, onion, and green pepper. I almost wanted SOME butter/grease. Just a lil’! Delivery was SUPER fast. I think it only took about 20 minutes. Cool delivery guy, too. Solid, but not blow my panties off tasting food.

I feel like I am lost in space with Hungry Howie and no one else is around to enjoy their savory flavors of crusts and toppings. So I decided to order out last night for Monday Night Football with the family. There were people from East San Antonio, Portland, ME and Boulder, CO. All were satisfied and happy, as I listened to confirm why I like them so much over the regular pizza chains. It’s ironic how much service has to do with restaurants, generally speaking. Is it possible to like food less because the service is not status quo? Scenario: They messed up a pizza and I called to have them send out another. They did and all was fine. However… This remained the topic of the conversation when referring to the food. Hmmmm… I just wonder how much people invest in food service when sampling a restaurant for the first time.

Hungry Howie’s is amazing. The flavored crusts — free on every pizza — are all delicious, and the pizzas themselves are a cut above your average takeout/delivery place. The toppings are fresher, the sauces better, and extra cheese really means extra cheese. I particularly love to order the gigantic calzones, which usually end up being 2 meals for me. One thing that always amazes me about Howie’s is the service I get. If they see something in my online order that they think might be a mistake, they call me to make sure they make it the way I want. They really are the best of their type in San Antonio… now if only they would branch out to pasta!
