I used to go to Great Harvest in Seattle, and hadn’t been in many years. I saw that there was a location in San Antonio and decided to check it out. My expectations were not high since I hadn’t been there in such a long time, who knew how they would be now. To my surprise, everything was great, if not better! The owner was incredibly sweet and you can tell that he has a passion for what he is doing. They are new to the coffee game and he wanted genuine feedback on the cappuccino he made for me. He eagerly wanted to improve if it was needed. We bought the Smokey Mountain Bread and have almost finished it in only a few days. It is delicious; so moist and fresh. We will definitely be coming back and wish we lived closer to the store – we would come every week!

Great place for special occasion bread! A little on the Pricey side but it’s worth it! We have tried the jalapeño and it was gone within an hour and the honey wheat was also just as great! We will def be back soon!

The bread at Great Harvest is wonderful. If you can’t find bread at Great Harvest you haven’t tried enough samples. During special seasons, they also have yummy deserts. This Great Harvest is nicely decorated with local art work and has a pleasant sitting area for having a cup of coffee and enjoying your samples. I went yesterday, and the staff was so friendly. The focachia provolone bread was my favorite, and left with a loaf.

Hands down my favorite bakery in SA. They make the best and freshest granola and their bread variety is great. I only wish they shipped their granola. I come to town to visit family and stock up

This is my new favorite store! I bought some of their products at the farmers market and when doing further research I found they have a store in my neighborhood! A cute little place tucked inside a shopping plaza. They offer fresh breads, pastries and coffee. They don’t have a huge selection of breads to pick from but I’m ok with that. They know what they make well, and stick to those few selections. My favorite is the honey wheat bread, you can really taste the honey inside the bread! They use very simple, few ingredients which you’ll never find in a grocery store(with all that added sugar the grocery stores breads have, yuk!) This is my new go to place for bread! They also have seating inside if you wanted to have a quiet place to have a coffee with a friend. You’ll never go back to grocery store bread after trying this bread!!!

Amazing bread!!! I’m so glad to have found it outside of Austin. I wish they had a little more selection, but their bread is so flavorful and moist that I’ll probably try every flavor they have. It’s a must try!

Walked in today to get advertised Cranberry bread and they did not make any as advertised. Had this problem before with them so call in advance if your looking for a daily special they may not have felt like making it that day after all.

I love Great Harvest. Kind of sad because I wish it were closer, but happier because it is expensive and bread isn’t the healthiest food out there. I visit here maybe every few months and have always had good experiences. Every time there is a holiday, they always put out a bread that’s dedicated to that particular holiday. It was just July 4th and they put out their«red, white and blue» bread which is strawberries, blueberries, and white chocolate. Yummy! I’ve never tasted anything better in the world. During Halloween they have spider shaped breads, during Christmas they do yummy pumpkin rolls and gingerbread bread, etc etc. You get the picture! They have a rewards card and I think it’s once you buy 12 loaves of bread, you get one free. The bread is pricey at $ 6 – 8 depending on the type you buy, but if it’s only on occasion it’s not too bad. Plus, if you call ahead and you’re planning a trip later in the afternoon/evening — they will put aside a loaf of bread that you want, this is especially important when you try their holiday loaves. Also ~ if you visit, they have samples of the bread and will give you a HUGE slice with a big dollop of butter on top. Nothing can beat that. Cookies are delicious, brownies are fantastic and they have gift baskets which is great for ANYONE! Definitely recommend. It’s amazing!

Someone once said, «eaten bread is forgotten». Well that’s because they never ate bread from Great Harvest. This place is a carb-lover’s paradise! As soon as I walked in, the beguiling aroma of fresh baked bread sunk its hook into me. Then one of the staff offered me a slice of the Cinnamon Chip bread. She carefully spread some butter over the slice and handed it to me. I took a bite. Delicious! I swear, Handel’s Messiah starts playing in my head. I yell hallelujah! This bread was amazing! Warm and soft on the inside. The crust was perfectly done and the layers of cinnamon strewn about the bread gave it a perfect sweetness. I was sold. But why stop there? Another fantastic bread of theirs was the blueberry cinnamon pecan loaf. Every bite had blueberries in it and the pecans set this bread apart from the pack. Another winner is their pumpkin bread. Not too sweet, which is a good thing in my book when it comes to pumpkin bread. If you’re looking to get your bread on, then Great Harvest is the place to do it.

The bread is five star quality, the service, more like a one star. I guess we were spoiled by the awesome staff at the Anchorage location. The angry, arthritic lady made it very clear she did not want to be there, or talk to her customers. Pulling out her cell phone from her cleavage and checking her messages while I was trying to ask a question was particularly awesome. The management at this location should hire people who are just super stoked about bread. The enthusiasm is contagious.

We love Great Harvest! A yummy selection of lots of healthy and several treat breads :) Favorites: whole wheat(especially the seasonally shaped loaves – Easter bunnies, Halloween spiders, etc), pepperoni roll, spinach provolone, pumpkin choc chip, cinnamon chip… OK – we love them all!

Excellent freshly baked bread. Lots of choice, ranging from plain white to blueberry cinnamon pecan. Of course, such choices as challah, cinnamon chip, brownie, and pumpkin chocolate can make the decision process more difficult. The friendly staff is glad to offer samples, and will add butter if you like — or not, depending upon your preference. Don’t miss the opportunity to try some new choices that might become a favorite! Different varieties are made as the week progresses, so be sure to find out when your particular favorites are available. Also, if you get there too early, the bread may be too warm to slice. They also have muffins, cookies, some interesting varieties of honey, and even soup mixes. If you like good, freshly baked bread, this is the place to go!

Mmmmmmm… Great Harvest is one GREAT harvest. When you walk in, your nose is delighted with the yeasty, sweet smell of freshly baked bread. Then, ahhh! They case of bread! Wait, it gets better. There’s a guy at the counter asking you which sample you’d like. Almost anything you want – a giant slice – with butter. Oh yes. The Cinnamon Streusel was a hit in our family and the simple honey wheat is heavenly. This could be a weekly stop for me, but it probably shouldn’t be :)

Great bread! Great friends! Great times! The cinnamon chip bread is a staple in our home. We love the pumpkin chocolate chip bread. The cinnamon chips taste just like rainsins almost. The pepperoni and challah bread are quite tasty.

I was a bit disappointed as I am used to the full service bakeries with the café and whatnot. This is a stand alone bakery. No café. No coffee. Buy our bread and get on your way. I’m used to the pizza bread which is to die for. This store only carries the pepperoni bread which was not great by any means. Not enough cheese and pepperoni for 7.50IMO. I do like the quality and will be back but the space is large enough to be full service so i’m not sure why they just did the bakery.

Great Harvest Bakery is in a little L-shaped strip mall across from the Boy Scout Camp on NW Military(that’s north of 410). It’s a franchise and I honestly looked into getting one but it’s not the right time in my life to do it. If you want bread to die for, this is the place. Impossible to describe. They have samples, slathered or not slathered with real butter, for you to try. Their pumpkin bread is to die for, but their sandwich breads(Burley Bread and Great Smokey Mountain are my favorites) are out of this world. They freeze well, too, so I usually buy a half-dozen loaves when I go. They also have cookies and muffins, etc.
