Made a «to go» order, I w as told by the employee while confirming the order«F**» this” and was hung up on! The manager, Taylor, saved the day! Great food… but I WILLNOTGOBACK! Was comped, but there is no excuse for this behavior.

I really enjoyed going to Grady’s I felt welcomed, the meat(brisket) was very tender. The catfish was just right accompanied by the tasty tartar sauce. Someone came to our table and asked how we were doing and that in my book is already a plus. The sweet potatoe salad tasted really good and this is coming from a person who does not like it. I really do recommend people give it a try.

Very very dry brisket. Had to send it back to get it replaced with chicken that also was dry but not as bad so I dealt with it. I eat here often with my boyfriend and his chicken fried steak is always great but no matter what i get, my food always sucks so I felt it was time to let Unilocal know. The best thing they have is the plain basic salad that you get as a side. The mac and cheese is very very tasteless. The okra is sometimes great, sometimes burnt. Go on a busy night or be prepared for dry heat lamp kept meat. Yuck.

I really like the food here at Grady’s but I feel like the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up. The bbq is still good and still better than Bill Miller’s. Love the catfish platter too. Very yummy

The mashed potatoes are worse than cafeteria food, the chicken tenders are very dry.

Ordered Grady’s for our wedding reception 2 years ago and they were 2 hours late. They said they got lost on the way to our venue. We had to eat our cake before dinner. Fast forward to this weekend… They show up to a wedding for another family member of mine and the food was cold. We asked the drivers to move their truck and they would not move it. Staff was rude and the chicken was dry. Would not recommend.

Don’t think I will ever have the catering from them again… Chicken so salty from the brine. It was hardly eatable

I have mixed feelings towards this place. I went with my girlfriend and ordered a chopped Beef sandwich while she ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich. my food: my sandwich had good bread but the beef was heavily over seasoned with pepper to a point where I could barely eat it. I ended up having to eat my girlfriends food(more on hers in a sec). also my onion rings were terrific. Girlfriends food: Phenomenal. her chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly, moist and in terrific bread. Awesome dish. 3 stars because her food was a 5 star and mine was a 1. the atmosphere is nice. I would come back for the chicken. not the beef.

Absolutely disgusting. My friends and I all got the 3 mean platter and all the meats looked nasty and tasted even worse. All the meat had no flavor and the BBQ sauce had a strong tomato/ketchup floor. Canned green beans were gross, they would have been fine right out of the can but these adds something to make them bad. Coleslaw was soggy, pinto beans were gross. I could eat more than one bite of the pulled pork. It was that bad. So much bad food on one plate.

Went in and ordered a brisket plate. WORSTBARBECUE I’VEEVERHAD!!! The brisket was dry, overcooked, tough as shoe leather and inedible. The brisket had none of the characteristic juiciness or tenderness associated with proper low and slow cooking. Although it was overcooked none of the connective tissue had even begun to break down. I’ve had jerky that was more tender. Whatever Grady’s does to its meat is not barbecue! Sides were meh. Another customer returned his brisket as well because it was so tough he couldn’t chew it. SAVEYOURMONEY! DON’T COMEHERE!

We have been to Grady’s many times through the years… And for the most part have always found their food and sides to be well prepared. This past Fathers Day was far from the past expectations. The brisket was overdone, dry and chewy. The turkey was fairly tasteless. My wife had her favorite«moist brisket», which also turned out to be over cooked and overly chewy. My sons picked up the food and had brought it home for dinner(we live about 1 mile from Grady’s). They did not add bread, onion or pickles to the take out meal. Overall a very disappointing meal from Grady’s!!!

Live music, bbq chicken and ribs were great. They have a walk up pick up window for convenience. The beans were cooked perfectly. Green beans were homemade and delicious. Very authentic feel. We will be back.

I grew up eating Grady’s but it had been years since I had been there. It was my first time going to the bandera location so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was pretty good. I ordered the shrimp and catfish dinner. The gatofish was perfectly cooked with the southern breading nice and crunchy. The only complaint I would have, and even then it was not a big deal was that it was a tad bit salty for my taste. The shrimp was lightly breaded and even though the breading didn’t have much flavor I could look past it because I could taste the freshness of the shrimp. I will say the TWO things that really worked my nerves and confused me where the pickles and jalapenos. It was mainly the pickles. I mean, they didn’t taste like pickles. I assume they rinse them before putting them out because they did not have that vinegar picklely flavor that sliced pickles from lets say Bill Miller’s has. The jalapenos were the same way. They were pickled but there was not an ounce of vinegar on them. Maybe that is just how they get down I don’t know. But over all it was a good experience. So go eat there.

I know this is a BBQ restaurant, but we stopped for catfish. The plate came with fries, cole slaw, pinto beans & jalapeño hushpuppies. The catfish was prepared southern style in corn meal & spices-crispy coating with perfectly cooked fish that was really fresh tasting. Fries were fries. Beans were well cooked and just this side of salty, thankfully. I don’t like mealy beans so these were just right. The cole slaw was freshly prepared without too much mayo. Those hushpuppies were lovely, but how could they be anything but? Fried balls of cornbread mixture with jalapenos! What? The capper was some of the best tartar sauce I’ve had in some time. Stop for the fish. Maybe I’ll try BBQ next time.

They should be ashamed and embarrased to put up a sign encouraging customers to buy their macaroni and cheese as it is a LIMITEDTIME item for $ 2 and change… then have the audacity to serve BOXEDMACARONIANDCHEESE! I understand now that most of their food is from frozen or bags, but come on?! You cant even try to make real mac? That really blew me out of the water. I work hard for my money and dont eat out often, but to be served this crap??? FIRSTANDLASTTIME.

The peach cobbler here is so good but the actual food left something to be desired. It is so frustrating because I want to believe in Texas BBQ so bad but have yet to find a good mom and pop local joint to satisfy my BBQ desires. The food here is just ok. I really was hoping for more since this was a small local spot and not a chain but alas I stand disappointed with the food. The cobbler on the other hand is amazing and I will definitely be back for more of that and just skip the main course.

I’m a San Antonio native and had BBQ from all around Texas. Grady’s continues to be one the Top producers and one of the top two or three in San Antonio(Rudy’s is no where near top 10). The Wife and I dropped by yesterday to pickup some Memorial Day BBQ, we got their Big Tex Party pak with lean brisket, potato salad, beans and regular sauce. Everything was absolutely perfect. The brisket was smoked the exact amount that it should be and very very lean, flavor was wonderful and not overpowering or too spicy, texture was excellent with the right amount of chew, sauce is a tomato vinegar type with a pleasant taste. Loved it. The beans are clearly made in house, just a bit aldente perfect flavor and excellent complement to the brisket. Their potato salad was extraordinary, slight mustard tone light mayonnaise taste with perfectly cooked potatoes and mild celery, very very good taste, I should have bought another quart. We also bought 2 pound of baby back ribs that are also excellent, sold by the pound packed dry, but perfectly cooked. Finally we got a few of their peach cobbler again, perfect, the crust was expertly prepared and the peaches were complemented with large raisins. Very very good flavor. I only wish they had a location closer to Sea World so we didn’t have to drive through Bandera traffic to get to them.
