Prelude: When it comes to naming rides, Six Flags is PAINFULLY unoriginal. There are currently 10 rides in the SF park system called«Batman»(most of which are identical copies), 7 «Goliath’s»(none of which are the same, BTW), and 11 «Superman’s»(only some of which are similar). Would it kill the Six Flags corporation to come up with something unique once in a while? Fiesta Texas and Great America each have the rides mentioned previously, but they’re all completely different coaster styles. SF just continues to recycle the same goddamn names over and over and over again, without so much as a shred of originality. [see also: ‘why the six flags corporation can suck the big one’ – reason #8] (deep breath) Okay, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, this is what coaster aficionados know as Batman The Ride: 4-across, legs-dangling, 5 tightly-packed inversions, no block brake, 60sec ride time. They can call this ‘Goliath’ all they want, it’s a part-for-part clone of the Boliger & Mabillard original Batman that has found mirror-image installations at nearly *every* Six Flags park in the country. That said, there’s nothing new here to report. Chances are if you’ve been on any one of the ‘Batmen’, you’ve been on this. A fun ride, sure, but lacking in the enjoyable DC comics superhero theme that is prevalent at most other SF parks. The blue track and yellow support structure looks imposing, especially towards the front of the park. Dispatching was lickety-split, and wait times were nearly nonexistent. A little difficult to locate the entrance since the access path is tucked out of the way. ~Special ride elements~ *Vertical loop *Heartline roll *Vertical loop *Corkscrew *Corkscrew Docked 1 star for lack of originality. But a fun ride nevertheless, and like all the inverted ‘Batman’ clones, it’s quite a rush. Protip: front row is the ONLY way to go on this one. Every other row has obstructed view seating.
