This restaurant is extremely horrible. The food takes forever to serve. We are the first customers here, but we have to wait more than 30 minutes. When manager comes out, he argues with us about his serve. This is inappropriate way for a manager to agrue with customers. I recommend people should NOT come here. I would grade 0 star for this restaurant; however, i have give 1 star in order to post. Thanks.

I eat at this golden wok with my family or the wurzbach location often. The food is always great at both locations… But for some reason this location always has dirty utensils. Hire a new dishwasher and everything will be perfect!

Great food. Fried rice was awesome, so was the Singapore street noodles. Staff was welcoming and the waiter/server was super cool. Would definitely recommend and revisit.

Didn’t like how long it took for the food to arrive at the table. The waitress didn’t even look us in the eye and tried to avoid our table. The kung pao chicken is not exactly how it’s suppose to be made either. Very different.(**。).

My families favorite Chinese food restaurant. They are the only location on the NW Side that can accommodate our large groups of at least 20 without hassle. The food is always great and fast. The portion size is generous. Most everything is a la Carte so price can add up. We always leave happy though

My favorite Chinese restaurant in San Antonio. I’ve dined here for 20+ years and haven’t had a bad meal. They have a great lunch combo in which you receive your entrée that is served with rice, egg roll/wonton, soup, and ice tea. Their dinner portions are family style that are served with rice. Prices are reasonable and waitstaff are courteous. When you’re in a rush, they do a good job at getting the food out in a reasonable time. Golden Wok is my top Chinese restaurant that I recommend for anyone looking to eat Chinese cuisine.

I came here this week for a good chinese food and i would have to say that their Dimsum is good. I had their Pork Siumai, Taro bun and Pork Ribs. Keep yourself busy though cause it does take a while to get your food. The Filipino Lady working there was very attentive though and she always give me refreshments and checks up on me while I’m waiting for my food.

Excellent service for lunch. I had house special wonton soup(huge) and cool lettuce wrap. Delicious! The cool lettuce wrap was like fajitas in the way that you assemble it yourself. I’m wow’d. Excellent

Very disappointing to report Golden Wok refuses to exchange rice or wonton for vegetables when you order a dish, regardless of if the rice and wontons will make you ill. My waiter was, also, rude when he had to wait for me to find a dish I could eat without getting sick after that point.

My family and I love this place! Large portions. We do not have a favorite dish here, we usually order 2 main dishes with a side of Lo Mien and it will feed all 5 of us. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try a new chinese restaurant

I am writing this review based on a lunch experience. First it was crowded — which is actually a good sign. That means it’s good — right? Well, not in my case. Service was soooo slow, which is bad enough, but their selections for«lunch specials» were sparse too. You literally can choose from 4 – 5 things. Everything else is normal price. The reason this place gets two stars is because of the ABSURD amount of oil on EVERYTHING. I think I had more grease on my plate than food… and yet miraculously my chicken was dry as dirt. I don’t get it. Oh — and side note — there isn’t sushi here… so I’m not sure why Unilocal has it categorized as a «sushi bar». Don’t go here. In the mean time, I’m still on a search for decent Chinese food in San Antonio.

First time here with my adventurous teen daughter. We were seated right away and waited on in a flash. I had been told everything is good here so me and my princess always try something new. For starters, Dim Sum was Fung Jou(stewed chicken feet in black bean sauce) — it was a little better than just good but not WOW. Spring rolls, great. Seafood puffs, good but could have a thinner pastry shell. The pan fried noodles were meh, the soup was good(not great) the iced tea was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. I would go back and try something new and strange, every time.

Golden Wok is near my home, and so my fiancé and I typically order and pick up on night we feel too lazy to cook. I haven’t tried really anything other than Chung Bo Steak for the entrée. I’ve yet to be disappointed. Many people say it’s too salty for their taste but I enjoy it. The salty garlicky sauce is what makes the steak and green onions pop, in my opinion. I like to try the dim sum, but I always get a bit upset that there isn’t more of a selection without seafood as my fiancé is not a fan. Typically, we get the Char Siu Bau. It is a sweet-ish dough ball filled with roast pork. We’ve also had the Nor Mai Gai, which I enjoyed a lot for the flavor the lotus leaf gives it(it is steamed within the leaf), but my fiancé wasn’t a big fan. I think he found it too sweet. So, depends on your taste. We ordered the Ginger Chicken Pot Stickers, pan fried, as it is usually a safe bet both of us will like it. This time around, it seemed the filling was less meat more veggies. Still good though. The one disappointing thing from our to-go order was the rice. I’m a fan of fluffy, slightly sticky rice because it goes great with my Chung Bo Steak. Unfortunately, the rice was dry, and in need of salt. All in all, I’d still go back. Actually, I most certainly will.

There was a questionable hair in the wonton soup? Husbands not sure either way that’s gross… not one but two hmmmm… The spring rolls were greasy as hell and flavorless… you better douse the duck sauce & soy sauce on that shiz… it looked clean from what I could tell(floors, windows, etc). Brown rice was cooked properly & good. White rice looked cooked properly… just didn’t try it. We ordered beef fried rice even thought they forgot about it… came out fresh and tasty. It had too much sodium for my taste and we got really full… like fast. Both ordered Generals Tao chicken, I like that it was slightly fried & large chunks of white breast meat. I asked for stir fried Broccoli and apparently«the chef» had to come out ask me how to make stir-fried broccoli anyways the broccoli was a bust… came out cold and wayyyyy undercooked. I don’t know what the deal is but there HAS to be MSG in the food. not impressed and yeah even though the entrees came out hot & fresh… we probably still wouldn’t come back.

I had been going to Golden Wok on Wurzbach Rd for a long time until this one on 410 opened up. I have never been disappointed! The hot and sour soup is fantastic! The shrimp Sui Mai is delicious(even if it takes a while, so worth it!). The happy hour is great with $ 2 domestics and specials on margaritas, as well as app prices.

When I walked into this place, I noticed the hostesses and waitresses were not Asian. Then I looked at the menu and thought«on crap, another PF chang’s». I hate PF Changs! The food isn’t even Chinese there. Well, at Golden Wok, I was pleasantly surprised. I order about 5 dim sum dishes and the stir fried spinich. Everything tasted authentic. Plus they serve dim sum at dinner! No carts, just order of the menu. Food was fantastic. Prices are average to high for dim sum, but everything was sooooo good!!!

When our family moved to San Antonio we tried quite a few chinese restaurants, none of them compare to Golden Wok. The food is great and it never disappointed! It is always busy, but that is because it is so good!
