Here with my hubby today and we are both quickly aware of how unfriendly the staff are. When he was filling out paperwork he told me that they were not smiling or friendly. We were here early and they took him back early. NO offer that I could go along until the procedure, which i guess is ok, but also no expectations of time line offered. I specifically wanted to meet the doctor and staff. An hour after he had been gone — for what I know is a 15 minute procedure — I decided to ask about him. The staff was not only unfriendly but downright RUDE. After 2 hours of no communication I was finally notified I could see him. He said that after he got past the front the staff were much friendlier but who you meet at the door and see on the way out had already set my expectations. If they had at least been friendly when I inquired, I would rate this higher.

Went to GCSA for help when I first became celiac. At the time I did not know what was happening. After tests and expensive scoping procedures I had Dr. Gurl confirm there was indeed damage to my stomach. When I asked what the next step would be his response was«nothing». When I asked why I would get so sick after eating he told me it was probably just panic attacks and told me to look into behavioral meds. He was cold, unprofessional, and ignorant to his profession. All this place did was waste a lot of my time and money when I was severely ill. There is no excuse for that. Stay away from this place.

Dr James Jackson continues to re-define GI indispensability as he skillfully/tactfully/sensitively/thoroughly/enthusiastically handles my family’s multiple challenges. Deal with this Doc & you will come to appreciate the quality product all medical schools attempt to attract & matriculate & represent them as graduates. His professors must be pleased — I know I am.

I cannot speak for the practice as a whole, but Dr. Mehta is wonderful! He listens and takes time to explain things. He is very responsive if I have to call for help between appointments. I am glad I found him in my search for a good GI specialist!

Beautiful office but the staff, especially medical assistants, could have much better bed side manners. People come here because they don’t feel good. Please treat us with a little more kindness.

I have had several procedures with other doctors, but none have been as great as dealing with GCSA. From my first visit until my final visit everything was as good as it can be. The doctor(Dr. Mehta), the staff, and the facility are all top notch. It was pleasant to be at a doctors office where you feel like they care and anybody that works there will take the time to explain anything you do not understand. There has never been a long wait for anything and all procedures are done right there. No more checking in hours earlier at hospital for out patient procedures, I have found my new specialist and plan on advising my primary care doctor how GREAT Dr. Mehta is so he can refer patients there.

I had a Bravo probe test done for acid reflux done 3 times. Dr. Shaffer still could not get results and wanted me to take the test a 4 th time. This test requires twilight anesthesia. A day off work and driver are required. All the while he’s charging me and my insurance. Mayo clinic docs told me to never go back. That it was ridiculous and suspicious to be tested that much. Stay away.

Second time to this location. First time was just an initial visit to meet the doctor. Showed up at 7:00am for a 7:15am appointment. Quick checkin at 7:05 and then a 35min(7:40a) wait before being called to the back for prep/procedure. The office gets full pretty quick but the front desk staff get their patients through the paperwork quickly. They were very friendly and helpful. Make sure you read and complete your paperwork before coming in or else it will delay your checkin. They keep the waiting area pretty cold so if you had being cold – you might want to bring something to keep you warm. Once you get called to the back – procedure completed by 8:25 and checkout 8:40 which was pretty quick and the doctor was also very good.
