I like the bean burger, takes me back to the Ize Box in Alamo Heights. They make a good chocolate shake too.

I enjoy EZ’s restaurants, we usually go to the location on 281 and Bitters. I like it because it’s casual, order at the counter i.e. save a few bucks not having to leave a tip. They have grilled salmon and chicken, salads, pizzas and burgers… just a variety of basics to keep everyone in the family happy, kids and grown-ups. And the prices are reasonable. But at this particular location(at the Quarry) at the time of my visit(6÷14÷15) was a mess. There was one guy at the register who was trying to cover several duties: answering the phone, taking orders and going back to the kitchen between customers to do whatever. In fact while we were ordering he took a call from someone asking for the manager, I imagine to complain. There were several tables that were left un-bused from the time we arrived until we left. Aaand… the french fries were stale. Tasted like they were microwaved. There was a corner near the restrooms that had dirty dish towels piled up. Just a general sense of poor upkeep and poor management. On a positive note, my bison burger was not bad, except for I didn’t get grilled jalapeños on it like I requested. And the iced tea was relatively fresh. Judging by the looks of the place, I expected it to be nasty and have that taste of tea thats been sitting out too long but it wasn’t bad. Anyway, I definitely wont be back to this EZ’s location.

All I can say is horrible customer service. I called to place a to go order. After waiting on hold for more then 10 minutes to place my order. I called back just to get hung up on twice. I’ve never had problems before ordering food to go.

We used to make this a regular place to eat lunch, but no more. We ate here for lunch on Thursday, 2⁄12 at 11:30. My wife had chicken poblano sandwich. By 3pm she was so sick she had to go home. She was so ill after eating this food she was having chills and throwing up. She got food poisoning from this place. So no Valentines weekend as she is still sick. All the symptoms still in place. She called the manager Friday and he blew her off by just saying, yea, your not sick from our food. You can’t get food poisoning so fast after eating. So I guess they have a doctor working as a manager on the side. She didn’t want anything, after all this place is no longer a place to eat. And yes, friends will know. So he could of had some empathy but he didn’t so why this write up to tell everyone, beware of the chicken and maybe other containments at this EZ’s, Quarry . Yes, I will be contacting the health department.

I came here with a group of around 20 ppl. After reading previous reviews, I was hesitant about dining here. I found that the restaurant was clean– more so than I require from a family style pizza/burger joint. Every member of the staff were engaging, friendly, and alert to my needs as a customer. I had a buffalo burger that was over cooked. My daughter ordered a kids meal pizza, it had the quality of Little Caesars but I like how it was offered with vegetables! My wife ordered the Alamo bowl– it was good, nothing great. I probably won’t drag my feet so much if I have to eat here again.

Really like the EZ’s at Bitters and 281 but this Quarry Market location is just terrible. Almost 40 minutes get our order. Fair amount of people here but I wouldn’t say it was busy for an EZ’s on a Saturday night. Lots of people comparing about the wait, manager getting beat up with complaints left and right. Served my kid nasty brown dingy apples that I wouldn’t fee my dog. My daughter ate one before I noticed how nasty they were. More issues but I will just leave it at that.

Two stars just for the food being good and hot. To loud to have a conversation. Not really easy to find a place to sit. Just seems like a family place, or some place you’d take the kids after a Baseball game.

Stopped in for a late dinner, trying to find new places to eat out of the ordinary. Ordered a pizza, flat bread and ½ & ½ fries plus drinks. Pizza was ok, dough tasted of flour and toppings were… Well missing. Don’t get wrong, pepperonis were on there. About 4 of them on a large pizza. Flat bread was bland, oregano and parmesan, not much flavor, again, toppings were light. Fries? Well that was just a soggy mess! Awful. Booths were dirty and nasty. Tables sticky and wet. Trash all over the floor. The wait to get the food, about 35 – 40 mins. I don’t think I’ll be back for a while. At least until management cleans things up.

Lousy overpriced old fashioned food. Booths are dirty, with large holes in the upholstery. The chain hasn’t changed since I came here as a high schooler. Seriously don’t waste your time here…

My wife and I live near the Quarry and decided to give EZ’s a try. Well, at least we tried. It was busy, but the wait was too long. I know it was too long because my wife’s burger was cold, our fries and onion rings were cold and soggy, and my Steak Wrap had chicken with no steak to be found. We would’ve complained, but considering it took 30 – 40 minutes between ordering and getting our food, I assumed a replacement order would have taken just as long. I wish I had thought to read the other reviews here before visiting, but now I know. Avoid this place like the plague. Prices weren’t terrible and the food would probably be pretty good if it didn’t taste like it was sitting out for 15 minutes before I got to eat it.

Service was slow. Ordered a pizza. Came out with uncooked veggies thrown on top. Looked like it was a frozen pizza that got put in a microwave. Restaurant was dirty. Bathroom was dirty. Some staff were unfriendly. Will not return.

We are not picky eaters, but this was just not good. I felt like we got the same quality burger as you would at Sonic. The whipped cream they used made the milkshake have a gridy texture and the kids mac and cheese was cold. After so many good reviews, we left very diappointed. We wont go back. There are too many good places to eat in the same area.

So 5 or 6 years on since I first started going to the Quarry location and it’s starting to show its age. The tables weren’t getting bussed quickly and they took down the massive menu behind the registers, so now you’re forced to read off a printed one at the register. The bacon on my burger was super overcooked and the onion rings were warm at best. This used to be one of my favorite burger spots but now am not as impressed. I hope this was just a one-time thing restricted to one location, but this was a go-to for burgers for me years ago. I do remember the pizza being good, along with a few other dishes, so I’m willing to go back someday, but the last visit left something lacking.

I love the Quarry area, and love being able to have healthy options for lunch or dinner– though I’ll note that this place also does breakfast. Add in that it’s locally owned and operated, and you’ve got me! The food here is surprisingly awesome, particularly anything with a Tex-Mex slant to it like their bean burger, tortilla soup, and Fiesta Bowl dishes, all of which are amazing. They have a couple of coupons in the Book of Free, and I recently used one at this location for a free breakfast sandwich(though I ate it at lunch– bfast offerings available til 2pm!) and added on a bowl of the aforementioned soup. It was a super flavorful lunch that was light and yet didn’t leave me hungry. Definitely one of the places I prefer in the Quarry area!

E-Zs in the Quarry is a fun place to go for a quick meal. They have AMAZING burgers and pizzas but they have salmon and spinach salads for those who are a little bit more health focused. They even have gluten free options(gluten free brownie anyone?) for those of us who have to be more careful with our diet. Not only is EZ’s food consistently good, they are great helpers in the local community. I am a teacher and they are wonderful about letting us host fund raisers there for the students. Good food, gluten free options and they help out the community… This Ez’s is a home run!

When I get a hankering for a burger, I make the treck to EZ’s as they can be tasty and fill that craving AND they have Gluten-Free buns. Other than that, unless someone else wants to go, it’s not my first choice. Oh EZ’s. I really want to give you more stars. I do. Especially since you carry Gluten-Free buns. But, they’re dry. A dollop of guacamole saves them. Toasting them might help. I’ll suggest that next time. But every time I’ve been, something is wrong. Every. Single. Time. Once or twice, I can forgive a forgotten item on my burger. If I’m at the restaurant, no harm. When I get it to go I’m in a hurry and dont want to put my fingers in everyone’s burgers to make sure they are right. But I have to. The atmosphere is decent. They have beer and wine. The prices are on the higher side. Go if in the Quarry and the kids are hungry. The kids will love it. You’ll survive.

My kids love EZ’s so we eat there quite often. Wednesday night Kids eat free. This is a great deal! Even though the restaurant is overrun with children. Fast and casual the kids like the pizza and we like the Caesar salad and the Alamo bowl. Filling and hearty the Alamo bowl is a nod back to the founder Cappy Lawton. He has a meal at La Fonda on Main called Cappy’s favorite; a sliced grilled chicken breast served over a scoop of rice, a scoop of black beans topped with Pico de Gallo with a little cotija cheese. This is a perfect mix that fills me up perfectly. Next time you are looking for a kid friendly yet more sophisticated than fast food experience then ez’s is your best bet.

What a difference two years makes. I’m now a regular at another EZ’s location, but try and skip out on the Quarry location if at all possible. Yeah, the food is good if you steer clear of the overcooked burgers. Get the liberty chicken or the alamo bowl(sans cheese) and make it a trio by adding tea and a half and half. But next comes the problem. The clientele. Sure, it’s not like this joint’s a starred restaurant by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s loud and no one seems to care, they just keep talking over everyone until it’s damn like you’re screaming to cary on a conversation. But beyond that, parents seem to use this place as a baby sitter, and obnoxious iPhone wielding preteens seem to think buying a single milkshake gives them the right to hang out for two hours after seeing a movie around the corner while waiting for their parents to come pick them up. Parents, keep taking your kids here and keep them away from the original location. Thanks.
