Had a dinner there for my daughter. Place needs a facelift and is run down. Her Mother in all her wisdom decided on this place. Food was okay but nothing to brag about. We cashed out and I was going to pay half and the lady who worked there made a big stink about us dividing payment into two. I dont think she grasped the situation and I dont think she can understand arithmetic either. She called me a drunk man and I didnt even drink a beer. Poor customer service and was very rude. I will never go back and I would recommend for you not to either. I know customer service I live it everyday!

The chips were ok. The tea was good. The enchiladas were again cheddar cheese which is ok it’s so typical of SA cuz that cheese is cheaper. I wish everyone made their enchiladas like rosarios. Anyhoo the tortillas are real. They had birds outside in a cage? 8.99 for the estela special. Which is outrageous for the Westside. The fideo was very good for $ 6. The salsa was ok. Too chunky. No wait. That was a plus

I hadn’t been here in years, now I remember why. Beans are very low quality, almost seem like canned beans,(gross). Guacamole is NOT avocado. It’s some defrosted green pulp that does not even taste like avocado. Chorizo con huevo is nothing but grease and zero flavor. Coffee is good. I had a beef fajita taco, no flavor and beef way over cooked. In case you can’t tell by my review, I won’t be coming back.

Menudo is da bomb here. Can’t speak for any of the other food they serve, because I’ve never tried it. My hubby says he likes the tacos, though. Wait staff is a bit aloof but very efficient. Maybe one Sunday I’ll try the breakfast buffet? Nah… I’ll stick with the Menudo ;)

This was my grandmother’s favorite restaurant. Just like your own mother’s/grandmother’s cooking you will always be a fan regardless of what others think. So I’m partial to this food because it does remind me of home cooking. It does taste and look like I could’ve made it at home. I took my mom for lunch and she had the special Caldo de pollo con conchas(Chicken with shells soup) and she loved it.

THis was by far the worst restaurant I have ever been at! Sunday buffet consisted of slimy scrambled eggs and tasteless mush. Oh, and don’t forget the soup made out of chunks of what I guess to be fatback. Gross. The waitress looked surprised I asked for hot tea with breakfast and said they didn’t have any. Don’t have hot tea!!! We both had a plate of food that we left behind and went to another restaurant. Disgusting! If you want to talk about atmosphere, let’s describe it as a local town hall with white plastic roll out table coverings. If this is Authentic Mexican then the Mexicans have apparently no tastebuds.

We went to San Antonio for New Years and we’ve been here in the past. We were so disappointed that the place was closed on New Years Day! We love this place!!! The hubby and I were so looking forward to their amazing barbacoa, tortillas, and the buffet! They don’t have a lot to choose from on the buffet but what they have is great! Like Brian M. said the mariachi is fun and it’s just a great place to hang out! We really enjoy coming here. Oh Estela’s I don’t know when we will see you again but hopefully it will be soon!

I went to estelas cause I heard great things. Boy was I sadly disappointed. The waitressing was pathetic and the food was averaged. On top of that it wasn’t enough. I’ve had better authentic Mexican food in Africa.

What a great authentic Mexican restaurant. The mole is the best I ever had. Estela is always there & adds a personal touch… great lunch specials. Sunday mariachi brunch is entertaining & fun!
