I wanted to thank the crew at design tech homes for building me and my family a beautiful home!!! We were very nervous about building because we have heard nightmare stories from people about the process they went through while building a home with another builder, but I have to tell you, our construction manager was in constant contact with us and if there was a problem he would explain it to us and always had a solution. Even After we were moved in they were always responsive to any questions or concerns we had. One thing I have learned in the process of building a 100% custom home is a major undertaking with tons of moving parts and things will go wrong, but a good builder like Design Tech knows how to handle the inevitable bumps in the road and get it right in the end! I strongly recommend Design Tech Homes and I want to thank them again for building me and my family a beautiful house!!!

We have been in our home for a little over a year. While I feel we have a quality home now, the building process was a nightmare. We went through 6 foremen that I can remember, and the process took from September of 2012 to June of 2014. The sales office located in Bastrop was amazing. The design process was easy as was picking out our custom features. However, there were many major quality issues that had to be repaired along the way and weeks, sometimes into months with no construction progress at all. Weather was not an issue. In addition, we are still cleaning up construction debris as we clear and landscape sections of our lot. Design Tech is not allowed to build in our neighborhood any more due to various issues. I am relieved. It will save my neighbors a lot of grief. Having seen another reputable local builder finish beautiful homes in a timely manner, I know the building process does not have to be a messy, disappointing, 2 year process. Wish I had known before…

Although we eventually got a home that we consider a good product, it was a long process that they made more difficult than necessary with poor communication and poor planning. They were very attentive during the sales process, and although our construction supervisor was competent and friendly, we were not satisfied with overall communications, planning, or progress, and we were extremely dissatisfied with the quality of the sub-contractors DesignTech used, as well as their lack of oversight and ownership of the workmanship of their subs. I feel that if I were not as involved in the process as I was, we would have many problems with the house if I had not caught them because of daily site visits and supervision by me. We had one major issue because of lack of clarity that was never resolved. I wrote a letter to the CEO of the company explaining my experience and issues with suggestions for better service, and never even got the courtesy of a response.
