I went to Bulverde and Evans minute clinic. Biggest mistake I have ever made! I went for a wellness assessment bc I figured it would be easier then trying to schedule an appt through my dr… WRONG! It was billed incorrectly over a month ago and STILL trying to get it sent correctly so I can get my wellness credits! Worst ever! Not to mention I was there for 2 hours and poked 3xs Mary kutty prasad, the nurse practitioner is incompetent!

Went to Minute Clinic(Bulverde & Evans location) today. A little bit of a back story, I get bronchitis about 4 times per year due to my Asthma and unfortunately can’t shake it on my own without steroids. I signed in and waited about 30 minutes and then got called in. The Nurse Practitioner didn’t ask what was wrong until she got all my insurance info scanned in. I told her the reason for my visit and she proceeded to ask all the symptom questions. Then after all that she said that they consider these infections viral and could not treat me with antibiotics. I told her that was fine but I always get prescribed a steroid as my asthma medication is not enough to kick the problem. She breaks out a binder and tells me that«no» she can’t prescribe steroids either because I dont have COPD and that asthmatics don’t qualify according to their standards. WHAT? She proceeds to offer some over the counter cough syrups and then tells me she will refer me to urgent care. Oh but I still have to pay for the visit since she checked me in already. Every bit of information she read out of a binder. She looked in my ear twice to double check for an ear infection to see if she could get me an antibiotic that way but nope, no ear infection so she sent me on my way. What kind of care is this where they refer to a binder for everything. CVS obviously employees people that are fresh out of school(or maybe still in school) and have no clinical knowledge. I know this seems like rant but to come to a point, I had been to the Redi-Clinic at HEB back in August and they were far more professional. Also a nurse practitioner, at Redi Clinic she looked in my nose, ears, listened to my breathing, was WAY more knowledgeable, didn’t refer to a binder once and was able to prescribe an antibiotic and steroid. Guess I should have gone there this time but wanted to try Minute Clinic because it is closer to my house. I will take my business to Redi Clinic from now on when I can’t get into my primary care physicians office.

I’ve had this annoying cough for almost two weeks and finally got sick of it and decided to call my doctor’s office on July 5th(the day after July 4th, which they were closed on). Doctor’s office had no available appointments and so I tried my employee health clinic at work, they had no physicians on staff. I couldn’t cope with this annoying cough any longer and decided I was going to go to ExpressMed or something. Until I remembered seeing a commercial for CVS Minute Clinic and thought about going there. I decided to Unilocal,no Unilocalers experienced Minute Clinic yet, so I went off to google. They treat everything from a cough to an earache to a bug bite, etc. They accept all types of insurance and are open: Mon-Fri 8:30am to 7:30pm Sat 9am to 5:30pm Sun 10am to 5:30pm Taking a required lunch break from 1:30 — 2:30PM I went over to this location and was surprised to see the set-up. The Minute Clinic was towards the back, located near the pharmacy. I walked up and there was a computer set-up with two doors on either side of the computer. It’s required that you put your name into the computer and if it’s your first time, you’ll have to put in basic information, i.e. name, birthdate, address, e-mail address, etc. Then it has a digital waitlist, and my name was first. The computer told me to take a seat, so I did. It’s like a mini waiting room. Literally two minutes after I put my name in the computer, the RN came back and introduced himself to me and brought me in the room. From the time I walked into the CVS and the time I was done with the RN, probably was a total of 15 – 20 minutes. Definitely not what you would experience in your own doctor’s office! The RN was really nice and informative. Did all of the tests a doctor would do to determine if there’s a virus or infection. Eventually came to the conclusion I just have a random cough and so he prescribed me some strong cough tablets. He transferred them to the pharmacy and when I was done with my appointment, they were ready to pick up. It was a FANTASTIC experience. I vow in the future if I’m ever sick that I will go straight to the Minute Clinic and not my doctor’s office. If it’s something minor you need checked out and you want it done ASAP, go to the MinuteClinic — you totally won’t regret it. Amazing! They even called 48 hours after my appointment to check to see how I was doing!
