Paid eight bucks for a turkey and Swiss sandwich. It had been made the day before and the cheese turned to wet mush. It did not come with mayo or mustard and since it was not made to order you can’t ask them to add it. The sandwich would have been worth the price if it was made fresh but for a day old this was a bad deal. Don’t bother getting a drink here. They want three bucks for a bottle of water or soda. Everything at airports is always marked up but this is a bit much.

Compared to the other dining options in Terminal B, Creative Croissants does offer some better, healthier(i.e. less greasy) options. A basic pre-made wrapped sandwich, consisting of ham, cheese, tomato, and a leaf or two of lettuce that was once proudly crisp, but whose youth has sorely faded, will set you back about 7 bucks. They also offer paninis(which I’ve never tried), as well as yogurt parfaits, cookies, pastries, juices, etc. It’s all still airport food, so… yeah. Three stars.

Upon entering Terminal A I was on a mission to find a filling breakfast, but not too overpowering. Enter Creative Croissants. Creative Croissants is just past the security checkpoint at Terminal A, going to Southwest and U.S. Airways flights. You are bombarded with the usual suspect breakfasts, McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts and other no so healthy choices for your first meal. Creative Croissants is at the end of the food court area and I was immediately welcomed by their cashier, welcomed with a smile and assistance. Their menu includes of course, croissant sandwiches(but can opt for a bagel), various pastries, wraps, and of course that much needed coffee in the morning. Their sandwiches are made to order, with this morning selecting my usual favorite, bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant. The sandwich was extremely hot in temperature, knowing that it was made fresh to order. The croissant was of generous size and fresh. Firm egg, plenty of bacon and enough cheese combined to make a most delicious breakfast sandwich. Whenever you are at an airport, do not be afraid to give the«off brands» a try. You might well be very surprised. Creative Croissants has a selection and food to be most extremely proud. Their prompt and courteous service is something all other airport restaurants and shops could certainly take a lesson from. It’s refreshing to find this on the road.

This is one of the only places in the SA airport where you can get a «healthy» snack or lunch. I have had their sandwiches, wraps and muffins. The food is pretty good. Also, the price is not outrageous considering it is an airport restaurant. Good choice!

The food offerings are sparse at the San Antonio airport. It’s getting better, slowly. Creative Croissants is my chosen to spot before hopping on an early morning flight. My favorite is the«wake me up» sandwich with ham on wheat or sourdough bread. It’s a good sized breakfast sandwich, just grab some salt and pepper before you run to the gate. The coffee here is weak, so hop over to Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks to fulfill that need. The people are friendly and they’ll get you taken care of quickly so you don’t miss your connection out of the city.
