Wow! Only stopped here because of the Unilocal reviews. The blueberry cheesecake waffle was delicious. Service was great. My sons omelette was good, fruit was fresh. Husbands wrap was awesome too. Highly recommend this local place for breakfast/brunch.

5 stars all around! Great food, great service! The place is a little unassuming from the outside but clean and cute on the inside. Every single employee we encountered was very friendly! The place was pretty empty at 11 on a weekday. But it started getting busy as we waited for our food. We were a bit bummed to see that they stopped serving breakfast at 11(understandably) but since it was only 11:05 we requested to see if we could still order off the breakfast menu. They were nice enough to let us! My husband ordered the fajita omelette and I got their pancakes and eggs platter with a side of fruit. Everything was AMAZING! Seriously one of the best breakfasts I have had at a restaurant in a long time. The eggs alone were so yummy. It all tasted very fresh and homemade, but in the best way possible. Great portions too. And it was only $ 18(for our two plates and two waters)! I can’t wait to come back!

I was quite surprised by the Courtyard Café. Based on Unilocal reviews, we took a chance, and we’re glad we did! Even though a handful of customers(us and another couple) arrived close to closing time, the customer service was great! We tried the chicken salad sandwich on toasted Texas Toast bread with a side of fruit and a yogurt dip. The chicken salad tasted homemade, and the celery in it was very crisp and crunchy. The fruit was fresh and juicy. We were quite impressed and can’t wait to return to try the breakfast menu. I’m looking forward to the peanut butter and banana waffles. I’m sure it’s Elvis inspired, uh huh uh huh!!!

My wife and I went here on a whim. We were looking for a local café for dinner(they are only open Thursday-Saturday for dinner). Man were we surprised. This place is fantastic. The service is top notch(Bella was phenomenal), the food came right out and was delicious! For the price you can’t beat it. We will be coming back tomorrow morning for breakfast and I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.

The service was good but I was not as impressed with my jumbalaya omelette as I hoped, only two pieces of shrimp, it was pretty tasty but mostly stuffed with rice and I probably would have ordered the cheesy grits instead of fried potatoes. I probably will come back to try the blueberry cheesecake pancakes though

I decided to check this place out early on a Wednesday morning because I was new to the neighborhood. I was surprised that I had passed this place dozens of times and never knew it was there. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice, inviting, and clean the place was. I got two over easy eggs, bacon, short stack of peanut butter banana pancakes, and potatoes with some cheese on top. It’s difficult to mess up eggs but the bacon was thick, like the kind I cook at home, not the stringy type you might get at other places. I’m not normally a huge fan of over-the-top decadent pancakes, but the peanut butter banana pancakes were so perfect I can’t even think of words to describe how delicious they were. They were just sweet enough to balance out the meal but not too sweet that you could only eat a couple bites and then have to tap out. We ended up getting two full meals and two coffees(which were free for checking in on Unilocal) and our bill was only $ 21. Service was great, even as they got a bit busier throughout our meal. Screw Magnolia Pancake Haus and their 45 minute wait, this is where I’ll be taking my family from out of town for breakfast from now on!

My wife and wanted to try someplace new and after reading some reviews we decided to give it a try. This place has a friendly environment and make you feel at home. Sharon, our waitress, explained everything to us and was very knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered the banana pancake and eggs with grits and homemade biscuit on the side. The jalapeño jam spread was the best I’ve ever had. The pancakes were fluffy and I didn’t even have to pour any syrup on top. That alone should tell you something. I ordered the biscuit as an after thought only after the person sitting next to us recommended it to me. Next time I will order two biscuits and extra jalapeño jam spread. If they only served mimosas, I’d be eating here every Sunday. Support local businesses and give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Courtyard Café is amazing! Such a nice little place to get breakfast. The vibe is really calm, and the customer service is phenomenal. Tanya is a great server and made sure we felt at home. Now the food is a whole other story. Everything on site is made fresh, and you can definitely tell. You NEED to try this café. Will be back soon.

There was hardly any wait for a Sunday at 10:45AM. On Sundays they serve breakfast until 3PM. The coffee is good. The cream is Land of Lakes half and half. My boyfriend ordered The Southwest Chicken Omelette. He opted for egg whites and they do offer that he also ordered the waffle fries as a side and they were delicious. They’re kind of a cross between Jack-in-the-Box curly fries and Chick-fil-A’s waffle fries. Delicious! He ordered wheat toast which tasted like it was toasted on a grill with butter. We also try the jalapeño peach jam(you have to ask for it) and it was tasty too! I ordered a plate that had scrambled eggs bacon and fries. The eggs were not that great scrambled, they were pretty dry. I would recommend going with an omelette. The bacon was good and the waffle fries as I said earlier, were delicious. I upgraded to the blueberry cheesecake pancakes and those were fantastic! We have been here twice and ordered those pancakes and both times they forgot to give us the cream cheese cheesecake type topping. So make sure that you request it because they may forget to bring it to you and just put butter on top. Service was friendly but we had a lot of particulars which sort of confused our server. Overall, very pleasant experience and definitely the alternative to Magnolia Pancake Haus!

I feel like the quality of this place has deteriorated since the last time I went. I don’t think the price justifies the portion size. Furthermore, the food just doesn’t look appealing when it comes to the table… if that makes sense. I ordered the chicken salad and it was probably 3 oz of chicken meat with some salad on the side. The jalapano bread was good tho!

Came here for lunch with a co-worker today. Was seated immediately but ended up waiting a good 15 minutes to place our order before getting up to get someone’s attention. The waiter who took our order was very apologetic but that was the one and only time we saw him. It was right at the beginning of lunch time, the place was busy and there were only 2 waiters for the entire restaurant. It was also pretty loud which made it difficult to hold a conversation without leaning over the table to hear what my co-worker was saying. The food was good but the service was lacking a bit. Overall, good food for the price.

Let’s start out to say I drove by the place twice and never saw the signs. Third time is a charm tho and found it. I went to meet a group there and I love that they have a private dining room for group parties. Staff was very friendly and came to check on us often. I had the meatloaf, pepperjack potatoes, green beans. It all sounded good but this is my specialty at home so there is a lot to live up to. Meatloaf was too over done, too dense for me, although a good flavor. Potatoes were semi mashed then baked smothered in gooey cheese. Green beans were fresh with a little crunch still left in them. I am not sure what the bread was all about, but the texture and taste was interesting and different. Overall pretty good although it didn’t agree with me later on. I think $ 11 is too overpriced for an average meatloaf(in slice and flavor) with no difference is serving portion between lunch and dinner menu but almost $ 4 difference in price(check out my pic for portion size, it’s sad)… … sorry you lose a star… Courtyard Café has a small to medium size dining area, a little outdoor seating area, and a nice private dining room(or maybe it can be used as a private area when not busy like the night we were there). It’s not my side of town so who knows if I will ever end up there again.

So saw all the great reviews for this place and just had to give it a try. We ended up here on a Sunday hungry and with high expectations. This place did not disappoint. The location is kinda tucked away off bandera and the outside sign could be a bit more clearer and perhaps higher. However found The place and there was plenty of parking left. We got here about 1130a and there were still a few folks waiting. Since it was just 2 of us, we got seated pretty much right away. The décor definitely reminds me of magnolia pancake house and nothing too frilly about it. Our server was polite and took the drink order promptly. She also came back and asked if we had any questions about the menu. I opted for pancakes and eggs plate sans the meat and substituted to blueberry cheesecake pancakes for an extra couple of bucks. My friend ordered the pancakes plate that came with bacon or sausage. The coffee was decent but they didn’t have apple juice as my friend wanted but she was happy with orange juice instead. Took about 30 mins for food to arrive. A bit on the longer side but it’s worth waiting for good food. I like to add some heat and went with their homemade salsa. It was a roasted pepper salsa that packed some heat in the mixture. She however brought me very little and I had to ask for more. My eggs were cooked perfect and the country potatoes were perfect Bolden brown. The blueberry pancakes and the homemade maple syrup were the star of the party. Real blue berries with cream cheese topping and also cooked into the batter. My friend also had good things to say about her food. All of this for just under 30 bucks. That makes this place not neighborhood café cheap but definitely within reason. Magnolia would’ve cost us atleast 8 to 10 bucks more. So the food is Def 4.5 to 5 stars. The service and options at 4 stars as well. I will be back for another meal at this joint. More often if it only wasn’t on the other side of town for me.

This place was mediocre at best. We needed a place to eat that didn’t have a wait and had kid friendly meals. For staters their serving portions can be larger, they are a bit small for what you pay for. My husbands son ordered a grill cheese sandwich and was only given 4 waffle fries, really 3? Needles to say we had to order another order of fries. I ordered the migas and they were good. My husband ordered the classic breakfast, I believe, and he felt the portion was too small. He kept referring to the sausage links as «baby sausage!» The service was average. I had to keep asking the waiter next to me for several things since our waitress didn’t come by and check on us often.

I had high hopes for Courtyard Café due to all to the positive reviews and am happy to say they did NOT disappoint! What makes Courtyard Café a 5-star place? 1. Service was exceptional. Both waiters were incredibly polite, fast, and helpful. 2. Food was delicious and portions were large. You definitely get the most bang for your buck here. 3. There was no wait on the Monday of a 3-day weekend at brunch time. I love that this place is a hidden gem and isn’t overhyped like Magnolia’s with a crazy wait time. 4. The small touches, like jalapeño peach jelly are what set it apart and are a nice way to branch out and try new things. So happy to have found a place that I will definitely be going back to! Thanks fellow Unilocalers for guiding me to such an awesome place!

How have I not written a review yet?! Courtyard Café is a cute and unassuming neighborhood café with great service and fantastic breakfast.(Plus it’s only about 6 minutes from my house and reasonably priced). The coffee is delicious! Not to wonder if you’re taking a gamble here. I’m a regular for breakfast… my go to is the Classic Breakfast: 2 eggs your way, bacon or sausage(bacon extra crispy… theirs is prob my fav in town!), potatoes or grits(potatoes!) or fruit(also good with a yogurt dressing and light), and a piece of toast. Today, I had the peanut butter and banana pancakes… knocked my socks off! The pancakes were so light and a tad sweet. I only eat bananas if I must — calves cramping due to low potassium — but I’ll slide these into my regular rotation. My lunch experience has been hit or miss. My main complaint is, if you get a sandwich, the lower piece of bread always seems soggy. They have some great comfort dishes, too, like King Ranch Chicken. Check it out and I hope you like it as much as I do!

Courtyard Café is a somewhat unremarkable breakfast experience. It’s adequately checks the requisite marks for breakfast variety, taste, quantity, quality, and price. The restaurant itself is rather blasé. The interior is minimally decorated and has an almost antiseptic feel to it but that’s a tad bit of a stretch. Our waiter, Carlos, was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast we ate at Courtyard Café, as I stated, was good but unremarkable. The pancakes were, well, pancakes — they were as they should be, light, not heavy or overly doughy, with a nice caramel color. The single dollop of whipped butter proved inadequate for the 3 pancakes I was served. That being said, they tasted nicely with the maple syrup. The pancakes came with bacon(or sausage) which, again, proved good but unremarkable. The sausage sandwich was less than extraordinary. It was more like a fluffy soufflé on a house-made bun. The sausage was barely distinguishable, the cheese virtually nonexistent, and the flavor was underwhelming. I accept that my opinion on this place doesn’t match those of most Unilocalers. I guess I’m expecting something more — something that separates the ordinary and the extraordinary. The one thing I did like was the price. The Courtyard Café does provide a reasonable breakfast at a reasonable price. For this reason, my review went from 2 to 3 stars.

I would say this is average. Maybe a little over 3 stars but not enough to round up. I came at a very slow time so I got seated as soon as I entered. I ordered coffee. I was sad that I didn’t get my own carafe like at Magnolia. Instead I just got a small cup. The coffee tasted great though. It was smooth and rich, like Magnolia’s coffee. They couldn’t do a substitution waffles instead of pancakes for the pancake and eggs, which is fine. So I ordered the buttermilk waffles with sausages and a side of cheesy grits. The food came very quickly. My grits were indeed very cheesy. They definitely could have used more salt though. I think the grits at Magnolia are less cheesy but taste better. The sausages were actually really good. I liked them the most. I love waffles so I use it as an indicator for any breakfast place. The waffle here was a bit of a let down. It wasn’t super crispy. Flavor was ok. I can make a similar waffle at home. The worst part was that horrendous«butter.» It was so salty! And more like country crock spread. I prefer the whipped butter at Magnolia. The warm syrup was nice but that’s about all I liked. As you can tell by the review, I just prefer Magnolia Pancake Hause. I’ve been lucky there, going at times that did not require hour long waits. The menu options are just more interesting and the food better tasting. And Magnolia is much closer to my house. Sadly, there wasn’t anything special enough to bring me back to Courtyard. If you live in the area, it’s a very solid place for breakfast.

I’m all about finding good breakfast places that do not have a drive thru or «taqueria» in the name. So when looking for a new place to eat at with my family on Sunday, I was pleasantly surprised to find Courtyard Café on Unilocal. We arrived here a little past noon, and it was very busy, but not super packed. They have a sign in the front that says«Wait to be seated», but no one was up front to host. So we patiently waited. Eventually 5 minutes later someone came up and started to take names. We were a party of 6 and only waited about ten minutes to get seated. Looking over the menu, the breakfast and lunch options all looked so good, but I decided to order the Classic Breakfast which is eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and a choice of potatoes, grits, or fruit. All this for only $ 7.29! I thought that was a pretty hearty meal for a not so bad price.(Definitely better prices than Magnolia Pancake Haus. Everything turned out delicious! My only gripe about this place is that they are really understaffed. I saw our waitress bussing one of her own tables! Attention Courtyard Café: Stop being so cheap and hire a busser for goodness sake! Sunday lunch is a way too busy time to make your waitstaff buss their own tables! That being said the service was definitely lacking. Our waitress was really trying her best, but she was made to do way too many things. I want to go back here because of the food, but hopefully they get their staffing under control because having good service is just as important. I will give this place another try in the future.
