DONOTGOHERE! First of all the owner(Rudolfo Martinez) is probably the worst dude you will ever meet if you do meet him which is highly unlikely since he never steps foot in his own establishment. A couple of my friends worked there, and he totally screwed them over by putting bills in one of their names and is currently being sued for fraud. He also owes them money because he never paid them after weeks of them asking for their paychecks. Second of all they are ALWAYSOUTOFEVERYTHING. Most of the time the bartenders would go out of their way to provide produce, hand soap, and cleaning products. If you want a voodoo grog you probably won’t be able to get one because they won’t have eggs. If you want a painkiller you probably won’t be able to have one cause they don’t have coconut. Bottom line, I wouldn’t support someone who treats their employees like total shit when they were the reason it stayed open for so long.

I have bookmarked this place for almost a year and now that I had the opportunity to visit this place with a friend Saturday evening and I must say I left disappointed. By looking at the drinks on their Unilocal page, it got me excited to finally give this place a try. First we couldn’t find this hidden place especially using GPS. This place is literally a hole in the wall. This place reminds me of a St. Mary’s strip vibe. When we came in there was barely anyone inside. The atmosphere is tiki bar inspired while the music is electronic DJ. The menu was very limited and when we asked the bartenders about the drinks posted on Unilocal were still around they said they had the drinks discontinued and spoke to us like jerks. I ordered a mojito which they mixed with Topo Chico and I have to say that it tasted pretty good. My drink costed $ 6. My friend ordered a pain killer and when he tried it, it tasted like pure alcohol and bitter no sweetness at all. So he went back to make it better. For $ 12 it better be fixed! It tasted a little better but let’s just say it doesn’t taste like the actual pain killer from Chedders nor is it as fancy. Based on this experience I don’t think I would give this place another try I left disappointed and too many creepy people.

Tiki Tiki Woo Hoo! If you’re looking for an oasis in San Antonio to escape the reality of work and life then you’ve found a solid spot. The journey itself begins as you’re commuting to this genuine hole in the wall. You’re not gonna find this location along the hustle and bustle of downtown nor Southtown. You’ll be questioning yourself if you’re heading down the right way but I assure you’re not gonna become an extra in a movie; nope, you’re on your way to some hella good Tiki drinks. Nestled in the corner of the street is a quaint building that holds Concrete Jungle inside. As you walk in you’ll be in sensory overload with all of the amazing décor. Wilson the Volleyball is even there for you to say hi to! From the bamboo to tiki chairs you best believe your worries and stress will leave you at the front door. Walk in and listen to the awesome music and sometimes you may even find yourself hanging out during a dedicated theme night. Most recently it was an 80s night which was a personal score in my book The tiki drinks are boozy with some great flavors. Just recently I had a great drink made with condensed milk! One thing to note is how the menu is ever changing so don’t worry about your relationship with Concrete Jungle getting stale. The bartending staff is super personable and they know what they’re doing. It’s also fun to see how the play off of the Tiki theme from music to outfits

Nice looking bar and very friendly staff but …5 Dollar lone stars no thanks the area is too run down for those type of drink prices. I don’t mind paying 5 – 8 $ for a beer but only when the establishment that justifies those type of prices by the area or surroundings. Felt like I was being price gauged. All other Southtown bars have much cheaper drinks and better surroundings.

Ok no kidding their drinks are good. A little TOO good! They are strong but you don’t realize it until the next day egg rolls were amazeballs! Or I was just really drunk and/or starving. Either way, can’t wait to go back!

I know what you’re telling me. ‘It’s soo out of the way.’ To that I say MAYBE. Sorry it isn’t in Pearl but they serve some strong ass cocktails. Not a lot of bars like this in SA. Super fun, great drinks, fun staff. Make sure to have a ride home from here because their drinks are truly *that* strong

If you are looking for cheap drinks this isn’t the place. While the location screams hood, this is not your neighborhood dive bar. I am not sure if it is the ingredients but cocktails took a while to make. Not a bad place but not a great place either. If you are looking for the dark and seedy but upscale drink place, this is it.

This place is amazing! I love the vibe, it’s totally relaxed yet sophisticated. They have an amazing Tiki Menu full of boozy concoctions to get the party started. Most of the Tiki drinks are around $ 10, but they also do calls, like I’ve enjoyed a few gin &7’s from here. They use canned sodas for the mixers which is amazing, none of that fake bar brand soda, called cola flavor, real deal coke products. The food truck was closed the night I was here but I’ve only heard good things, So I look forward to coming back to try the food!!! The bathrooms could defiantly use a touch up, its like the space its self is really nice, but then the bathroom is like something you’d find at a punk show. But that’s not enough to keep this guy away. The crowd was really chill, this place seems to be Jerk free for now, I hope it stays that way!

Will have to say I didn’t know what to expect when I checked this place out. First I have to say its small but the environment feels huge. They did a great job of making you feel as if you are in a jungle or in the tropics. The staff are very friendly and willing to answer any questions or request on what to drink. They know what they are doing! I haven’t tried the food yet. But it all Sounds Delish. I hope this spot sticks around for a long time!

This bar answers many questions for me. 1. Are tiki drinks those brightly colored super sweet frozen concoctions with pineapple slices and umbrellas? No. They are extremely strong booze festivals in your mouth. The perfect level of sweetness comes from house made syrups and other things likely housed in mason jars or repurposed salad dressing bottles. 2. What foods pair well with Tiki drinks? Anything greasy. Bonus points if spam is involved. 3. Where is the most disgusting bathroom on Presa? Here. I almost didn’t want to go finish my drink after venturing to the bathroom. I wondered if there was a theme to the bathroom-like a beachy outhouse theme– but no– even my kind thoughts couldn’t rationalize that situation up in there. Anyway… Having ventured to many bars around town, Concrete Jungle is a great place to dabble in a new flavor palate of drinks. Break away from the old fashioned and dirty martinis and try something refreshingly strong and interesting.

I’m happy there’s a tiki bar addition to the neighborhood. You go here for the drinks, people– and from my experience, it’s best to stick with what’s listed on the menu. The décor is kitschy at best, and when I made a friendly suggestion to the bartender about what I’ve seen at other tiki bars(i.e. Trad’r Sams in SF, CA), he laughed it off. For me, ambience is important in a watering hole, which is why I point this out. I ordered a Bali Bali made with a combination of liquors and house made syrups, and it was great. I tried my friends’ drinks and mine was by far the best. It will set you back $ 11; but it was served in a cool tiki cup with garnishes that looked like a bird of paradise(flower). Most drinks are in the $ 9-$ 12 range. The drink menu also boasts bowls for sharing amongst 3 – 4 people. I will try this the next time. If you have one too many punches, there is also a short menu of food offerings which include wings, spam bowl, and crab rangoon. I heard there is a dj that spins vinyl occasionally. I will definitely return to try other drinks out.

Creative and delicious drinks here with all fresh ingredients. Food is also very good, and I love the tiki bar décor. Will definitely be back for a cocktail and can’t wait til they start serving brunch

This place is awesome! I loved the Tiki/Jungle ambiance and the specialty drinks they have! They play great surfer music and the bartenders know what they are doing. They state that they make all of their drinks fresh, with real fruit and you can taste it! Potent drinks with great taste! I even loved the semi personal booths they have along the wall. The only downside would be the parking, especially since it was raining and there were puddles and rocks everywhere. I would highly recommend this place and will return!

This place is sorta grunge meets deserted island. Eerie ambiance. Tasty treats(thumbs up to the phở wings, fish tacos, and crab Rangoon) Pretty delicious drinks. I just saw a flaming coffee go by, and that looks like a real party in your throat. The booths are perfectly tiki. Planet earth on the tv, nothing gets better.

My bf loves Tiki bars, so I was happy to find this place. The food, particularly the wings, was delicious. My drinks, La Florida and the Bali Bali, were super tasty. My friends got the Mai Tais and some flaming coffee drinks, which they also liked. The décor was simple, but def Tiki. Music was chill and they were playing Predator on the TV above the bar(yeah!). Went on a Tuesday night, so it wasn’t super busy, but wasn’t dead either. Overall, really good drinks and food, and super chill environment.

**My rating is really a 3.5 but this ratings system doesn’t seem to allow for halfsies.** The natives have been restless and Concrete Jungle is a welcome relief. Nestled just south of the main high traffic streets of King William you will find Concrete Jungle in the edgier part of S. Presa at Leopold Street. The exterior is not glamorous but the artwork if fun and eye catching. Concrete Jungle has a tiki bar vibe going on and they appear to really try to set the mood with mini huts in the seating areas and bamboo fixtures. I will say it is a bit dark making it difficult to read drink menus. The drinks are good and strong but the price points($ 8-$ 12) are higher than you might expect for the neighborhood. This establishment’s focus is on cocktails(tiki, of course) and it shows. I recommend the Cobra Fang and the Mai Tai Swizzle. They even have punch bowl options for up to 4 people. Pretty cool. The bartenders take time in crafting each drink much like what you would find in other cocktail bar establishments. The difference here, though, is the atmosphere is fun and laid back and you don’t have to deal with navigating into downtown or other places that you feel like you have to dress to impress. In addition to drinks there is a small food menu for bites and small plates. There were only 4 items available when we went but I believe the menu will change, just not certain how frequent. The phở wings were tasty and plentiful and the crab rangoons were a treat – you could taste the crab, not just cream cheese like most places. Also, when looking at the drink menu you will notice there are some notes about who developed the drinks and the year. The staff explained that they are trying to also educate the clientele, somewhat, on the history of tiki drink culture. Additionally, you will notice that the drink descriptions are somewhat vague, not really detailing the ingredients in the drinks but rather explaining how the drinks will make you feel based on your mood, etc. All in all the Concrete Jungle is worth a visit but if you are looking for cheap drinks you’ll need to look elsewhere. The Jungle is still relatively new so it will be interesting to see if mainstream crowds will venture further down S. Presa into the true locals ‘hood.
