Canyon Point Apartments

This apartment complex is dated, when they painted the exterior they painted over rotted wood instead of fixing it. They raise the rent without doing any repairs. The windows are not sealed and there was black mold on the vents. The breaker box on the outside of the unit was faulty and needed to be replaced but they wouldn’t do it. I paid to have locks changed after my divorce and they didn’t do that, even though I paid the money for it. The lights around the property never work so it was dark on the walk ways at night. The maintenance staff are awesome and always helpful!!! Johnny is the man!!! They make the place bearable, and the only reason I am giving two stars!
The worst part is when I moved out, I left my forwarding address, I also had USPS forward my mail to my new address, I left my phone number as well. Instead of sending me a bill for the final move out they sent me to collections. This is a horrible way to run a business. Now they are trying to mess with my credit instead of actually providing me a bill. I always paid my rent on time and I gave them more than 30 days notice that I was moving. So to send me directly to collections is a bullshit movie. Newsflash!!! A person cannot pay a bill that you do not provide to them. So now I have two choices, pay the collections agency so my credit does not take a hit or wait for them to send me the bill so I can challenge any charges that I don’t think should apply but risk my credit being hit.

This place was a breath of fresh air compared to our previous apartment at Stoneleigh down the road. No roaches, rodents or anything like that.
The kitchen had updated appliances and beautiful cabinets.
Staff at the office is super friendly and helpful.

I’ve never had issues with roaches, or any rodent or animal for that matter, and really this is probably one of the best apartment complexes I’ve lived in.
The office staff is amazing, rarely changes and always knows your name. They are helpful and fix stuff almost immediately, it’s crazy! They have a 24 hour emergency hotline for EMERGENCY things, like, oh hey, my AC isn’t working and it’s 8PM at night and 100 degrees outside. They have custodians on call to handle such situations.
The thing I love best about the apartment is that I can’t hear anything that’s going on inside my neighbor’s apartments, and they can’t hear me! The walls seem to hold in the sound really well, and the floors aren’t made thing so you can hear people walking on them. However, you CAN hear people outside, and I have had issues waking up at 3AM on Saturday nights where people are just talking outside in the parking lot and think that no one can hear them. My neighbors are pretty nice too and I’ve never had issues with anyone,
The parking is pretty decent, first come, first serve, but they always have extras.
The apartments are mostly updated, but some are not. That’s one of the only things I hate, the stove and microwave are easily from the 80s/​early 90s.
Overall, for the money, and the area, the staff and the apartment, it’s amazing at Canyon Point.

One Word — ROACHES!!! Besides that it was a fairly decent place to stay for a year and a half, I’ve had worse, but i’ve had better. Maintenance people are quick.
