The best brewery in SA, their beers are original and they aren’t scared of collaboration either. When you walk in you immediately get the feeling they have a genuine passion for their craft.

This place is like a little hidden gem. I happen to see the location when my husband and I moved here from AZ. The location is hidden and tucked in a small industrial like area. Walking in there is a tv, beer taps behind the bar to the right and a clean look. The room is small but appropriate for the area, where you can sit against the back wall there is a higher wooden slab taller than the chairs, ingenious to place your beer and talk, when they opened at 5:00 pm only 5 people in there when 6 pm rolled around it was standing room only and crowded. They allow you to go in the back where the beer is made and all the way in the back of the building they have a food truck a few of them said the truck is good. My husband ordered the Ipa and said it was really good, I had the Finding Friday Mexican Lager(beer) super good and I am not a beer drinker. Every third Friday they have a new tap, tasting of a new beer. I liked this one as well! It was a watermelon flavor beer super good. The atmosphere is super friendly and chill. They really take pride in this place and it shows. I was very impressed with this place, we also did the tour in the back very neat. I highly recommend this place, it is hidden so you really gotta look for it but we’ll worth it. This place should expand and hopefully become a larger establishment in time.

Tap room is quite small, but appropriate for the size of the brewing location. Enjoyed that they let fans see the brewing process and will even take you on a small«tour» and basic brewing tips/instructions. More lighting is necessary in the back section as most customers will shuffle there when the tap rooms becomes too crowded(which can happen after 5 – 10 people are in the tap room). Bathrooms are clean. Beer is good. Environment is chill. PLEASEOFFERMOREWEEKLYSPECIAL!

This is our go to place for pint night. Great staff and outstanding beers. The Porter is strong and tasty. Fire pit wit is smooth. The 210 ale is my favorite. Any of the specialty cask beers is worth the trip. A good time to be had no matter the crowd size.

After driving around San Antonio trying to locate this brewery for nearly an hour, we finally located this awkwardly placed location. Busted sandal is oddly nestled in a warehouse strip center(of sorts) and directly behind a sketchy bar. We entered the room to discover this«brew pub»(as it was called on their website) was about half the size of a typical gas station bathroom facility. There were about 4 bar stools and 3 – 4 little pieces of wood against the wall where you could stand. There were about 7 patrons in the room and those 7 people made it extremely difficult for our party of 4 to advance passed the door. We left.

This place was pretty cool. A bit hiden. The beer was good and the atmostphere was nice. Nothing really bad to say about it.

I walked in and was hit with a smell of wet animals, even as a pet owner this was heavy. The bar area was too packed to even get a finger on the counter to try at a bid for grabbing the bartender’s attention so I made my way more towards the back. In what could be called the abdomen of the establishment were the brewing components. I only tried their special which was a very stout pumpkin drink tasting more towards Guinness with a slight hint of pumpkin. In the back was an alley where there was live music and a food truck that didn’t seem to have anything worth trying. Perhaps on a less busy day the place would be able to hold my attention for longer but with how packed it was the day I went it hardly seems worth the hassle.

Really friendly people run this brewery and are always willing to discuss beer with you. They also make some of the yummiest beers around. Get the El Gourdo Pumpkin Porter as soon as you can!

The beer was excellent. I had the 210 ale and I enjoyed sipping on it. I also tasted the seasonal pumpkin spice beer and it was alright. It was interesting tasting it, but I wouldn’t have it again. I’m sure others would enjoy it. I was there for a Unilocal event.

Their El Gordo Pumpkin Porter was my favorite beer last fall. This year it tastes like they jacked up the hops in it. Not my favorite this year. On the plus side, their base for this is the El Robusto Porter. Today that was very good compared to past years.

Great brewing company hidden in an industrial park near the medical center! I’m so glad I got to check it out during Unilocal’s Booze and Brews tour. It’s a pretty small brewery in a not so great location. I would give this place 5 stars if there were more sitting areas and a view when you go outside. But you’re allowed to bring your own chairs if you want to relax outside. Putting those things aside, all the beers here are pretty awesome. My personal favorite is the El Robusto porter. If you like chocolate/coffee beers with a slightly sweet finish, get that one! Their seasonal El Gordo pumpkin porter is tasty as well. Everyone here is really friendly and it’s a lively, fun place to hang out. Friday nights they have a band playing in the back outside. Also they have food trucks available in case you need a quick bite. We had so much fun here and even made some new friends! Definitely come to Busted Sandal if you’re looking for new brewery to try.

Hands down my favorite brewing company of San Antonio. Busted Sandal is the best! Although my last review also gave them 5 stars, I thought I should update it based on the crazy amount of times we’ve gone to BS for their taproom and events. After visiting that first time right after we moved to SA, Busted Sandal was having their one year anniversary party. We wanted to see what this was all about, because we weren’t familiar with having breweries with open houses or parties. Man, these parties are where it’s at! During these special events, BS features their standbys in addition to specialty brews. They’ve had different randalls, which allows them to blend their beer with another flavor, along with special casks and variations of their porter, IPA, or ale. Not only have we attended their one and two year anniversary party, but we’ve also tried to make it out to all of their different events. They had a Girl Scout cookie pairing with 5 of their beers which was awesome! BS also had a Porter-Palooza that we attended during the winter, which was the perfect time for those sweet delicious porters. Their events range from $ 15-$ 25 and you get a Busted Sandal glass along with plenty of pours. The brewers are all super nice and friendly and care about their product, customers, and brewing process. They are expanding, and I believe they’ll be offering cans soon! It’s been exciting to see a small brewery continue to grow. I think Busted Sandal will always have a special place in my heart because it was our first brewery to visit when we were brand new in SATX. We’ve been devout followers ever since… for good reason.

What a great hidden gem in the Medical Center! I can’t believe I had never been here until last night! I love their beer(especially the Fire Pit Wit and the 210) and drink it any time it is on tap. Going to the actual brewery made it even better! The entire staff was friendly and willing to answer any of my new to craft beer questions(its a long learning process!). I tried the IPA and was pleasantly surprised. The taste wasn’t too off putting. I will never be an IPA drinker but I could drink this one. The Fire Pit Wit is my favorite. You can’t go wrong with the choice and it is so refreshing! Now just in case you are not into small spaces it is a small establishment with not very many chairs besides the ones at the bar. This doesn’t bother me as I enjoy the ability to speak to people I have never met but I know many people would prefer their space. All in all its a must if you are a beer drinker and are willing to travel the Medical Center path!

Brought my lady here because busted sandal is all she ever orders at the bar and it ended up being a real gem! Super small when you walk in but def had that home feeling vibe. Everyone was really friendly and she got to try other busted sandals which she loved! We even got to take a tour of the brewery which she enjoyed.

They really have a good thing going here. Incredible beer and a great little tasting room. They need to add a few stools, I was shocked at how much traffic this place gets! They need to expand! If you build it, they will come.

Never would I imagine that a brewing company, especially Busted Sandal, would be located within the Medical Center of San Antonio. I was mind blown and excited at the same time. Now don’t get me wrong I’ve had Busted Sandal at quite a few establishments; however, this was my first time at the mothership of Busted Sandal. The Busted Sandal is tucked away neatly within a warehouse district but you’ll immediately recognize their logo as you’re passing the Chevron off of Fredericksburg. As you enter the tasting room you’ll be greeted with a very intimate environment where everyone knows each other, yet has no problem welcoming you to the Busted Sandal Family. Depending on the evening you attend, they’re only open on certain days and times, they’ll even allow you a tour in BOH.(Make sure to check to see if they’re open! Times are listed on their Unilocal profile) This best kept secret in town has some amazing pint prices and the flavors are amazing. As an avid IPA fanatic, I couldn’t get enough of theirs(Slippery Rock IPA) and was even a fan of their El Robusto Porter. I love how these beers are brewed on a larger at-home scale. The personal touch and love put into each batch really reflects the quality and craftsmanship of Busted Sandal. Excitingly enough they are actually expanding their operations at this location. Congrats btw! I was able to see the whole process of where they start to the very last step when brewing their beers. I knew brewing craft beers was work but after my tour I have an even high respect for brewers. These guys are super passionate in what they’re doing and I can’t wait to check them out again.

There is nothing like a place where you walk in and everyone acknowledges you even if you are new or a regular. Welcome to a busted sandal! A place where beer is made with pride and joy. A place where you are welcome every time. A place where laughs and great discussion occur. Come one come all to Busted Sandal! You will not be disappointed!

Maybe it gets a little packed & has terrible traffic flow, but Busted Sandal brews great beer so it’s beyond worth it! My absolute favorite is the El Robusto Porter, but have really loved everything I’ve had.

This place is a great find. It doesn’t fit the surrounding area at all, but is a gem. Obviously they only serve Busted Sandal brews, but that’s not a bad situation to deal with. The staff here is always super friendly and seem genuinely happy to have their patrons stop in. It’s really cool to smell the brewing process sometimes when you walk-in and get a tour on days brewing isn’t brewing. FYI: limited space and the tap room can get pretty warm. The expansion will hopefully reduce those issues though.

Let me get on the bandwagon! Love this little place! Check out their website and facebook pages for updates as to when they will have the taps flowing and then GETTHERE! Tucked away in the corner of an industrial park just west of Graham Central Station, this gem is a treasure you have to discover. A few tables around the walls and the pour wall populate pretty much the entire tasting room. In back you can steal a glimpse of where the magic happens. If you’re lucky(like I was last time) you may score yourself a one on one or small group tour of the facility. It was great to see where everything goes down and have each step explained.(I’ve been on «brewery tours» before, but never did anything but drink). You talk about supporting local and reppin’ the little guy, this is it. Their passion you can hear in their voices while they talk about their product and process. I can’t wait for their Headlights IPA to be ready. And their El Gordo Pumpkin Porter was legit! $ 5 for a full pour, or $ 3 for a half gets you well on your way to beer heaven, and they take credit cards. Needless to say I will be back and have the boys with me. I love having a local craft brewery 2 miles from my home. #winning
