The shaved ice here is unique. I’ve had shaved ice from famed Matsumoto’s at North Shore Oahu and Bahama Bucks’ is on par with theirs. Bucks’ ice is quite different. Think sugar: most shave ice is granular like table sugar. Bucks’ is fine and powdery like confectioner’s sugar. It makes a difference. It’s more dense and holds more flavor. It has an amazing mouthfeel: much closer to ice cream. Now, you MUST add cream and ice cream. Por que? Because it elevates the sin to 10 stars. This is great stuff. Ask for your military discount.

I’m not a fan of shaved ice but my family wanted to check out this place based on a recommendation from others. When we walked in it was very clean. You will be overwhelmed by the flavor choices, shaved ice types and smoothies. The employees were very helpful and patient with us as were sifted through our options. The shaved ice melts smoothly in your mouth and at the end there is a scoop of ice cream in the bottom. He smoothies were just as flavorful. Try the dream-​cicle. Overall it was a great experience and way over any expectations I had. They also have a drive up in the back.

What’s not to like about Bahama Bucks on a hot South Texas day? Perfect way to follow a football scrimmage with the youngsters. Endless selection of flavors and a great beachy atmosphere. First time visit for two of the nephews and all three ordered the Sour Patch Kids flavor, which was a big hit for two of them but too «something» for the other one. The only thing I can’t figure out is why every store I’ve visited has a sticky floor. It’s got to be tough with all of the sugary syrups and the fact that kids love this place, but you would think someone would’ve figured out how to keep the floors clean. We were here just an hour and a half after the store opened and the entire floor was covered in stickiness. That’s the only reason this isn’t a five star review. Otherwise, love this place.

This place is off the fashizle. The shaved ice taste sooo much like ice cream, they have great flavors, fresh lemonade, happy employees, clean, fast, all the elements of a great business. Great place to come in and get something cool or go thru drive up and take home. The shaved ice is like nothing you have ever had. Will give the 5 th star on my next visit.

I’m sorry to report that this Bahama Bucks did not live up to my expectations for snowcones or service. I love Bahama Bucks, and I wish that I had a better experience at this location.
On my recent visit, I brought an out of town friend with me to chow down on our favorite treat. I, of course, had to go for the piccadilly add-​on, which resulted in a $ 1.29 upcharge. Although there was no line when we arrived at BB and were able to order right away, we waited for at least 15 – 20 minutes for our snowcones to come out. When I received mine, there was no visible piccadilly topping. I actually had to go back up to one of the workers and request more. Eventually I got to the pickles at the bottom, but I still had to add additional Lucas when I got home.
Maybe this was just a fluke, and service suffered because of a busy drive-​through (or something). I’m still a proud supporter of BB; this location just needs a little tune-​up.

Great service! All the employees are kind, patient and extremely helpful! Came for the first time last night and was astounded by the colors, favors and fun that Bahama Bucks presents. SO excited for a close location!
