Nice small store… pretty cool stuff though somewhat pricey for us. other than the place being too crowded… wished they would have more characters so my boys and husband would enjoy going there often (hint hint: Avatar the last air bender) and more pikachu things… hopefully in the near future hehe

Big fan of this tiny store! Great selection of animé collectibles from Figma and Good Smile and a hefty selection of DVDs. Animé Tokyo also has some really cool shirts that I haven’t seen at Alien Worlds or Hot Topic (Kill la Kill FTW). Prices are a little on the high side but considering your options are here or buying online, I understand the extra bucks.
Unlike some reviewers, I’ve never had an issue with them being closed during business hours and the people at the counter have always welcomed me. They also put on movies and when I find myself standing there watching for 25 minutes, no one has asked me to leave, a plus!

This place sucks! People are totally unwelcoming and it felt so ackward in this shop. Woman in the front was just on her cell phone the entire time, offered no hello or help. I don’t see how a place like this can survive for very long. At least not with this poor customer satisfaction. I can go somewhere else and pay a hell of a lot less and recieve better service.

I have been here many times. Employees have always been so kind and helpful. I love this Animé store! The store hours on door sign say opened 11 – 7. Maybe its their winter hours. Probably needs to be updated here on Unilocal.I once was there early and employee opened early for me. I will definitely be back. You guys Rock!!!

Here’s my tip: CALL FIRST! It’s happened to me too many times where I drive over and it’s closed for some reason. Which, I understand! It’s a small business, things happen, you gotta leave I get it. It’s just frustrating because it takes almost 45 minutes to get there and I should have learned my lesson the first time it happened but I didn’t. Regardless, for me, the prices and selection make up for it. Incredible selection without the crazy markup SOME PLACES here in San an think they can get away with. It’s a long trip for me or I would be here more often (though that’s probably better for my wallet)
P. s. I want to add that I haven’t had a problem with it being closed lately. I think when they were newer they were still trying to sort out their hours. Anyway, still the best animé collectibles store I’ve been in, with great prices. Found a lot of gems here.

I had high hopes for this place after reading the reviews of the friendly staff and «welcoming» environment. Upon walking in I was not greeted even though there was no one else in there. As i proceeded to walk around the woman behind the counter not once, ever acknowledged that I was even there. I felt super awkward walking around. They did have quite a selection of figures in different bins, unfortunately I don’t support businesses who have no regards for their costumers especially if you don’t take 5 seconds to look up from your cell phone and greet me.

Came over on Monday within their business hours, and the establishment was closed for no discernible reason. No note on their door, nothing posted on their facebook page, nothing. Very disappointed because It is an hour drive round trip and I was anticipating getting something. However, I cannot give an establishment my business if they cannot value my time. Learn from your mistakes and please communicate with your customers better.

This is one of my favorite animé shops!
They’re fairly new, but they have an excellent selection of items. You can buy shirts, boxed DVDs, and many, many figures.
I came here looking for DBZ figures, and boy was I not disappointed! This is the first store I’ve found that has a huge stock of low-​priced, good-​quality DBZ toys. There is actually a very wide range of prices for all animé figures: well over $ 50 or $ 100 for the new, large, boxed, high-​quality figures, $ 1-​$ 10 for the small, used figures (which are actually great quality as well), and anywhere in between.
The owner actually gets a large portion of the stock FROM JAPAN HIMSELF, which likely explains the huge selection and verifies authenticity.
