Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about this restaurant I walked in had two tacos and left didn’t leave a tip for the waitress because I asked her for some toilet paper and never received it needless to say she decided to give herself a $ 2 tip that is fraud. I spoke with the owner himself to dispute the charges unfortunately the waiter says I gave her a $ 2 tip that is a lie it’s only $ 2 but it is still stealing. she took two dollars for me who knows how many people she’s also scammed.

Awesome Tex Mex. Enjoy most things on the menu but Im not a fan of the cheese that they use! Personal preference. Wait staff is always very friendly!

Sadly, I can’t review on Alejandro’s lunch menu but I can tell you that breakfast at this spot is great! Where else can you get huevo’s rancheros and a drink for under five bucks?!? The breakfast tacos are also killer. On top of that the homemade tortillas are awesome! This place is what some might call a hole in the wall but it still rates as far as taste/quality. Alejandro’s is located just over the bridge on Commerce St. as you leave downtown and enter the Westside. If you are open to venturing off the beaten path Alejandro’s is a great breakfast find… I guess now I have an excuse to go back and try the lunch menu!

I work around the corner from this restaurant. Typical of Mexican restaurants in the West Side, Alejandro’s is closed by 2pm. They have a lot of neighborhood clients and it’s a great quick fix if you are craving some Tex-Mex. My favorite is their enchiladas. They are also known for some great caldo de res(beef soup). The flavors are simple but the ingredients are fresh and tasty. I judge Tex-Mex restaurants by their refried beans and tortillas. These are two basics and if a restaurant can’t get them right, then their menu items may not be the best. Alejandro’s has some really delicious and creamy refried beans and their tortillas are soft and fresh. If you are in the downtown area or in the Westside during lunch, I recommend this as a simple, quick and satisfying location.
