I have been shopping here for over 20 years and have been treated like a king by the staff at this store. If they don’t have what you are looking for they will go out of their way to find it for you. This is one of those places that makes you feel like family when you walk in the door. The stores always clean and you can really feel that the employees love working there.

So you don’t have to own a restaurant or even work at one. If you need to by 5000 foam plates– then this is the place for you! Better yet– you find interesting cooking equipment– $ 40 for a Swiss made 10in chef knife– YES please! Cutting boards for $ 8– double YES! They have items that you may not think about like tongs– commercial grade tongs that come in quite handy for like $ 4. You can’t beat the prices. Best of all the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Good prices & great customer service– I am a huge fan. Stop by and check it out.

This place is great! Ready to start your own food truck dream, open the doors to your very own best in SA restaurant? Then the only place to start is here. They will have anything and everything needed for your food business. I recently stopped in to pick up an ice bucket for work and the guys were great to help me first locate them and then decide between a few different choices. Walking through the store I was amazed at how many varieties of tongs there were. I’ll be returning soon to add to my own personal kitchen tools

Love the service every time I go in here, incredibly helpful and kind employees. Except this one man, he was very rude and commented on the fact that I did not purchase a culinary student kit through them, instead choosing to piece together my own. Only reason I’m not giving this otherwise pleasant place 5 stars.

This place is far but cool!(it’s OK everything in San Antonio is far apart) #1 I like it that they are open to the public. I went to two other restaurant supply stores and they are not open to the public… #2 I love they they prepare a culinary school bag for you and it’s a good deal $ 275(I didn’t need one but I really wanted one). #3 I saw plenty of happy whisks, bar stuff like salts, cups, trays, uniforms(even for sushi restaurants), rags, cleaning utensils, trash cans, cups, plates, commercial oven gloves, a set of piping tips, ice machines, kitchen knives, to-go boxes, saran wrap, aluminum, and much more. #4 Customer service: wonderful! They ask you if you need help or are looking for something. They also ask if you have an account with them. They can keep track of what you buy, and in case you do need to return something or have a warranty on it they can look it up. #5 The not so pretty is… they are a little pricey. BUT great place to come and get things you wouldn’t find at a regular grocery store. I am very happy I found this place and thanks fellow Unilocalers for writing stuff about it! They were really quick to answer my questions on the phone too. Yes, I recommend this place.

Totally the place to go for bulk party needs. And anyone can shop here, whether you own/work in a restaurant or not! I haven’t had to buy anything too serious other than cups, but if cups are what you need, you will have anything your heart desires. Short cups, tall cups, clear cups, styrofoam cups, champagne glasses, margarita glasses, you name it. The last two times I’ve gone, the same girl has helped me and she is just the sweetest. Always pointing me in the right direction so I don’t waste any time wandering around, and then offering to help me outside with my insane amount of bags of cups.

I just watched an episode of Restaurant Impossible, & I am astounded on the owner’s generosity! I will pray that your business flourishes ten fold. I am checking to see if they have a website to place an order for delivery. The staff seemed on their toes & ready to help within no time! It’s wonderful to see such compassion from a small business owner. God bless

if you fashion yourself as a home«chef» a la then this is the place for you. i’m a huge fan of pressure cooking to make stock, and ace mart fits the requirement for the necessities, such as cheese cloth, chinois and cambo containers. their prices compare favorably with other supply stores. look, if you cook a lot, and are used to back of the house quality products, this place should be a stop on your purchase travels. they have a ton of great products, and a ton of real crappy stuff. for instance, their volrath utility tongs. the tongs they have here s u c k. they may say volrath, but they scream cheap ass chinese crap. great selection of small(read home kitchen) cambro products. substantial product variety, but again, sometimes quality is sacrificed for quantity. ymmv. the thing i really like about ace mart is it’s like a warehouse; everything is out on the shelves and you can browse. i’d like to give my business to a local company(mission) but the location on presa, just north of ace, is cramped, and not amenable to browsing.
