As a single woman, Tim and Hector always take care of my two cars, with honesty and integrity. I’m rarely waiting for ordered parts. They stop what they are doing so I can ask them for a referral. I am 100% satisfied.

Before heading out on a 2000 mile road trip, I bought a used car. 1999 Toyota Camry. Needed tune-​up, oil change and general look-​over before trip. Tim checked it out, lubed some squeaks in the frame, did tune-​up and oil change and discovered a leaking valve cover. Quoted me really good price for all that which included replacing the valve cover gasket. No more leaks. Even put some new wiper blades on for me that I had sitting in the front seat! Had all that done in just a few hours. Tim will tell you what all he finds wrong, what he feels is the most important to get done and what can possibly wait. He will not try to come up with extras to jack the bill up. Charges decent prices also. BEST service ever! Kinda sad I’m moving and won’t be able to use them in the future. But if YOU need service, head to Tim at Red Hill. You won’t regret it!

My car broke down today and thank God I was close to RHA! They were honest with what I needed to do and directed me in the right direction. They took the time to explain to me what was wrong and how to get it fixed by the dealership for free. Honest, patient and great customer service. Thank you for all your help!!!

I’ve been going to Tim Fix for 18 years and wish I had found him much earlier. He is an honor to his last name and he’s a vanishingly rare breed among mechanics — i.e. very experienced, honest, efficient, gracious, and no BS. Even though I can usually troubleshoot the work required (I’m not a mechanic, but over the years I’ve owned enough old beaters to have picked up a fair amount of knowledge), he is always careful to discuss it in detail in advance. His estimates and his work are always on the mark, and his rates are fair (if anything, on the low side for Marin). If you ask, he’ll also give you quotes for non essentials, but he’s really trying to talk you out of them (he looks at you dead in the eye as if to ask, do you really want to put your money there?). His assistant Hector is also a gem. I would give Tim 10 stars if I could, and I too am surprised so few Unilocalers have rated him.

I have been coming to see Tim and Hector for a few years now. First for my Sentra and now for my Subaru. They are always fair, honest, quick and reasonable. He will tell you what you what you need now and what you may need in the future without trying to oversell you. He is also happy to answer any questions you may have. A rare find!

Have been going to Tim for help on all my cars. He is great and knows his stuff. He is really straight forward when it comes to what he is doing to your car and always does it the right way and never cuts corners. He will work on any thing if you want it worked on no matter how nice the car is.

This is my second experience going to Tim. Both times, he’s been outstanding. He is knowledgeable and super honest. After going to several mechanics and receiving wrong information, I was so happy that he could diagnose quickly and easily. I am now a fan!

Tim figures out what’s wrong with your car and fixes it, for a fair and reasonable price. This I was told when I moved here by my parents and by other long-​time residents of the neighborhoods surrounding his shop. I took my aging car to him and received the same respectful, honest, effective service on numerous occasions.

We found Tim after years of going to the dealership for repairs. He is honest and reasonable. Trust this man to take good care of your vehicles. Most honest mechanic in Marin!

Tim has been our family’s mechanic for years, and my dad won’t buy a used car unless he checks it out first. But I wasn’t truely converted until he diagnosed my old beaten-​up car as not being worth repairing. It cost me $ 50 for the diagnosis and saved me hundreds — maybe even thousands. You know a mechanic is really honest when he tells you not to do the work!

Tim has the best shop in Marin. I would never go anywhere else. Tim is honest and reliable. He has helped me out more than once and is a no BS guy! I would give Red Hill Auto 6 Stars if I could!

Our family has been taking our cars to Tim since he opened in 1979. He has serviced my parents cars, mine, my husband and my daughter. He is an honest mechanic, and can be relied upon to do what is needed. We trust him, and appreciate him. I am very surprised there are not more comments like this one here on Unilocal

Tim is the owner of this small indie-​owned shop, next door to United Market at the division of San Rafael and San Anselmo. Two close friends who, for years, have taken their cars to Tim recommended I call him and no one else when my car suddenly died and needed to be towed from Pleasanton. (it wasn’t pleasant) Thankfully Tim was able to fit me in right away, although my case was a little complicated. It took a few days to research, diagnose and get the parts, and Tim clearly outlined the issues and set expectations in terms of timing and price. Trust Tim. That should be his motto!
