Might be the smallest airport on the planet. I think the Wright Brothers would have felt right at home on this sparse tarmac. I swear I think I saw a sparrow fly in and flap his wings in a frenzy trying to pull out of his landing approach because he ran out of runway. If you’re flying out of San Angelo, you’re probably on a putt-putt aircraft on the way to Dallas-Fort Worth for a connecting flight to somewhere else. If you’re flying during the heat of the day and it’s summer, expect a bumpy ride as your path takes you over and through the turbulent thermals of the day. Actually, the airport isn’t that bad. It has the small town feel and that’s a plus. They’ll get you checked in and checked out in no time. Get in that breadbox and fly the friendly skies.

Been under construction for over a year and have to get your rental car in mobile trailers jammed in like cattle. Security does not open very long before your boarding time so you set in the small area outside of the glass waiting and then security moves slow… Clean though! Hope the changes from construction make them more efficient… going to continue to avoid until then.

I flew into this airport for the first time on my most recent visit last month. Apparently this airport has quote been under construction for a couple of years. I do not have a clue as to why it is still«Under Construction» but I would think being in the SOUTH they could have completed it by now. Let me continue by saying my luggage somehow did not make it. For me apparently my flight into DFW was so close to my departure to SJT that they couldn’t get my bag on. Beyond that the service is lacking. If you arrive in the evening be prepared to wait. Apparently they think it is appropriate not to have anyone at the ticket counter for the ONLY airline American Eagle when you arrive. I would think again before flying into SJT. The ONLY reason I flew into San Angelo was to avoid a 4.5 hour road trip from DFW.

Tiny little airport with a big runway — but they’ve been doing construction on it for over a year. Seriously, it should have been done by now. Two trailers outside house the car rental places. Easy in, easy out!

WARNING: EXTREMELYSMALLAIRPORT! Upside? It’s small; therefore, less crowded and less hassle. Downside? Even though it’s small, security is slooooooooooow as molasses, and the only airline that flies in/out is American… and I think only to Dallas/Ft. Worth. So you have to ride a glorified«Buddy Holly» plane in/out, but I actually found that experience not to be so unpleasant, to be honest(and I am not a fan of flying in general). The airport has a café(although I didn’t try it) and is very clean. Security is iffy(behind a giant black tarp), and it goes SOOO F’INGSLOW. I liked being able to get here literally 40 minutes before my flight and still have time to sit and chat with my friend before going through security and boarding. BUT, you have to go OUT of your way to/from Dallas/Ft. Worth if you’re heading into the San Angelo area. That’s a good 40 minutes east further than where I need to go in order to get to my destination. And a good 40 minutes out of my way to get back to my home. This isn’t the airport’s fault, I’m just sayin’. For a small airport, it’s pretty efficient. I didn’t encounter any issues, and I arrived/departed safely. I’m glad it’s here, because it’s super close to my friends!

This is by far the smallest airport I’ve been to. But it’s the closet airport to Goodfellow AFB so I flew here while visiting my boyfriend. I think only American Eagle flys here which means its pretty quite and slow here. Non of that rushing from gate-to-gate travelers. They have plenty of parking space outside. The workers here are generally really nice and friendly.

I love this airport. The people here are wonderful. They gave our group burritos, cookies and sodas.
