Gil’s Restaurant

As far as mexican food in san angelo goes this place hits the mark with more than flying colors. My girlfriend and i go once a week on one of the half price nights. What can you say we are on a budget and for us to get 2 good sized plates of enchilada’s and a beer for each of us under 20 bucks you can’t beat that. The food speaks for itself in my mind. I have hispanic friends and i know how to tell when mexican food is hand-​made and let me tell you this is hand-​made food. The waitstaff is awesome despite knowing how busy they get they take the time to allow us to sit and talk about our day over a beer even they know they are getting very busy. Friendly and polite and very down to earth, this whole waitstaff has their gears meshing and constantly runs at high speed to provide an awesome dining experience.

Really good chile rellenos. Most everything I have eaten here is good… just not the best Mexican food I have ever eaten.

Initially, I was surprised to see the amount of cars in Gil’s parking lot.
Value is very good — considering the amount of food that you get.
Gil’s is good, but not great. Nonetheless, I was told that they have specials between Tuesday and Thursday — in which items are offered for half price (not certain to the specifics).
The service was excellent; our waitress was extremely kind.
