University Pharmacy

Two family members were sick on our recent visit to Salt Lake City. The staff took time to walk around with us, answer all questions and make (very) helpful suggestions as to what we’d need to quell our discomfort.

I will admit up front: I have never used the Pharmacy services here. But any run-​in I’ve had with employees here has been a positive one.
I work very close by, and when I fail to bring a lunch to work, the University Pharmacy deli is one of the first places that I will go, because I’m a fan of their noms.
I cannot speak to their other sandwiches, but their Vegetarian one is delectable. At a mere handful of cents over $ 5, this sandwich is a great deal, and is always accompanied by a little side of carrots, olives and peppercinis. [I great option instead of going around the corner to Subway…]
What I also love about the Deli is the fact that they are GREAT with substitutions, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I feel like I’m fairly difficult when it comes to my sandies [I want this, but not that, please add this, and definitely NO Mayo!!], but at the Deli, any substitution or distraction I ask about, they easily work with me on.
I will also make a point to stop by the deli and get lunch when they have a Vegetarian-​friendly soup of the day, aka usually Tues/​Wed:
Monday: Creamy Potato Bacon
Tuesday: Tomato Bisque
Wednesday: Broccoli Cheddar
Thursday: Chef choice
Friday: Chowder
I do feel that the soup is a little expensively priced [especially for a little cup of it, running towards the $ 3.5 range], but I’ve always been satisfied while it’s being consumed.
They have a cute old-​fashioned café look, with a nice counter to sit at, or surrounding tables. I’m always on the go-​go though, so I have them package my meals to head back to work. I would not be opposed to having a breather and stopping to eat there though — it’s always clean, rarely full, and you will not smell like Subway all day after walking through the doors.

Decided to try this Pharmacy after a friend recommended it. Friendly service, waited 10 minutes for my prescription to be filled. A week later I got a welcome letter in the mail from the pharmacy with a coupon for a free bowl of soup from their deli inside. Love the old fashioned feel!

i go here for the food. they have a delicious deli in the back. the food is fresh, fast, and healthy. its family-​owned and the service is always friendly.
i love the sandwiches, but the ice cream is the best i’ve found in salt lake! its basic soft serve vanilla and chocolate, but its as creamy as custard and they have tons of mix-​ins for shakes.
if you’re in the neighborhood and want a delicious lunch while waiting for your perscriptions, head here! (on saturday they have half price shakes, too, fyi!)

This place is a great old-​school pharmacy.
I came in with a prescription that was a mixture of two different medications that is specifically pre-​mixed at this pharmacy.
I was helped right away by a friendly employee who took my prescription and told me it would just be a few minutes.
The rest of the place is what a pharmacy used to be-there’s a food counter with deli food, a soda fountain, and jars of candy. They’ve also got toiletries and stationary you can pick up.
I can’t speak for the food as I didn’t get any, but the staff is great and it’s neat place to check out while you wait for you prescription.

I work on lower campus and go to their deli for lunch a few time a month. While all the sandwiches are good, their vegetarian on wheat bread is the best.

The University Pharmacy is an integral part of the surrounding University of Utah neighborhood. It’s a classic pharmacy with not only drugs and prescriptions, but various sundry and just simply fun items. I hear their deli opened back up again recently too. Visit the Deli for an amazing Turkey Avocado & Cheese or one of the best shakes in town! Also the service here can’t be beat. They have a delivery service and a drive through window for prescriptions. What convenience! Also, I worked here in high school and they taught me all I know about work-​ethic. Thanks U pharmacy, you guys are the best!
