Skip«that other place» and come here. Seriously, if you want good quality Mexican food at a decent price, this is your place. I’ve been to several Mexican restaurants in this city, and this is my new favorite. Great service, great food! We had chimichanga and enchilada here. Both were good. The rice and beans and chips/salsa were also good. Nothing to complain about.

I’ve eaten here couple times. Not that impressed, average Mexican fare. Went this morning for a breakfast burrito and they weren’t open. Wasted my 30 minute lunch which I took early since I was starving and ended up eating f**king taco bell, which sucked and was late back to work. Both google maps and your sign shows 9 am. I don’t want to hear any excuses just update your shit or be to work on time. BS!!!

This place rules. I had the chile verde burrito. Tasty. It’s the only chile verde I’ve found that is as good as what Frank makes in the Summit County Jail. And the staff are friendly and quick. One of the best under $ 10 Mexican restaurants I’ve been to.

Great flavor to their food, good size portions, their beans were the best. Their prices are a bit inconsistent, some things seem cheap, others a bit overpriced. Friendly staff. I’ll be back!

I have eaten at about 8 or 9 different Mexican Restaurants since I have been in salt lake over the past 2 months. Nicos is by far the best. Great salsa(and I’m terribly picky about my salsa). Had chicken enchiladas and Taco. Was great. Finally found my stop… Was getting worried that I wouldn’t find one…

There’s something special about this little restaurant. I’m a fan of their inexpensive(and filling!) daily specials, Monday in particular — it includes two tacos, rice and beans and a soda for $ 5.99. Such a great deal! The rice and beans are delectable — I think about them a lot. Fresh guacamole is a plus. The service is top notch — very friendly and accommodating. If you’re in the area be sure to stop by!

Totally amazing! After a long day’s drive they were open after hours and let us make a take out order! Chicken Quesadilla had a ton of chicken inside. Relleno was good and carne asada rocked, the Cute couple even let my husband practice his bad Spanish!!!

Not accustomed to athenic Mexican food but i found this little place on Unilocal with great reviews and decided to give it a try. I would not have even noticed this little mom and pop place without Unilocal.Good food. Reasonably priced. Clean and friendly.

This place is within a block of my office, so it is my go-to Mexican lunch spot. Excellent, homemade food and friendly service. They are pretty quick, so I can even stay and eat at the table on a one-hour lunch with no trouble. The daily specials are always a good choice, and if you want one from a different day, it’s available for $ 1 more than the special price. You’ll be glad you checked it out!

Nico’s Resto. was recommended by a good Unilocaly friend of mine Norman E many months ago(see his review below) and despite driving past this place 5 times a week for the last 3 months, I always chickened out. …not today yall not today! The place is rather small and would hold no more than 20 people. Decors are simple and it has a hole in the wall feel to it. I was greeted immediately and helped. Got me some Lamb BBQ tacos to-go for $ 7.99. The order came with 4 flavorful and beautifully garnished lamb tacos and a large beefy soup with chickpeas, rice, and carrots. It was very satisfying to both my tastebuds and tummy. I can already see myself frequenting this place in the future. Nom!

Really great mom and pop restaurant. The daily lunch specials are huge and an excellent value. The place is kind of small and can get crowded at lunch. The restaurant is clean and the food delicious, non bland. Also the service has always been prompt and friendly.

Nico, proprietor of this eponymous restaurant, also manages the justly renowned taco cart, Tacos Hildago, that generates lines of loyal happy customers each day near 400 West and South Temple. This great little place is his latest labor of love. Don’t expect a great deal of invention on the menu, but do expect very solid Mexican classics in generous proportions at unbeatable prices. My very favorite are the pork dishes. Nico’s carnitas is tender, moist and subtly flavored with gentle tones of citrus. The tamales are smooth and rich. The salsas and guacamole are fresh and flavorful. Wash them down with classic Mexican sodas. Breakfast served all day. Nico’s is on North Temple(westbound) at the corner of 1460 West, but the entrance isn’t super obvious. One should probably enter the parking area in front of the KOA Campground. I found myself driving through the coin-op car wash stalls off of 1460 West. Very accessible to the«Power» Trax stop on the Green Line.

I had a meeting at the Health Department during lunch time. So after the meeting was so hungry I decided to stop by this small restaurant. Wow, such a cute restaurant. You get chips and salsa when you get inside. The lunch combo comes with main dish, rice, beans and soft drinks for $ 6. Ah, who can beat that???

Ruben, the other reviewer pretty much said all that needs to be said: 1.) If you’ve been to Tacos Hildalgo(the cart by the Gateway) and have been blown away as I have, then this is the same dude: same recipes, but just with a more expansive menu. 2.) Great food, great service, pleasant décor — all with no wait. Super fast service, too: each time I’ve ordered, the food rolls out in less than 5 minutes. 3.) Chile Relleno was great stuff. Loved it. If you’re along the west side of North Temple and are looking for an alternative to some of the chain fast food places: look no further. Great eats.

Had the chile relleno and carne asada enchiladas plate. Both were pretty good. The chile relleno was just right — the right kind of green chile, not too hot and full of seeds, but skinned and stuffed with cheese and light egg batter. The enchiladas were of homemade enchilada sauce, and the carne asada was smoky and moist. The ingredients were all fresh. They bring you out fresh guacamole and red salsa, along with some homemade chips. The red salsa wasn’t too hot and was very flavorful. The owner is the same one that owns the taco carts in front of the Gateway(Tacos Hidalgo), and kitty corner from Energy Solutions Arena. The owners don’t do anything fancy, but what they do, they do well. I’ve noticed their taco carts and this restaurant serves FRESH, basic«Mexican» food, in a clean environment(yes it’s the Americanized, fast-food style Mexican, but it’s still good). The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Take the Airport Trax and get off at about 1500 W(The stop is called«Power Station»)and the restaurant is kitty corner(from the drop-off) They take all Credit cards.
