Unilocal, I recently had an incident involving my college ring. I won’t go into the details cuz it’s kind of weird, but it involved me having the ring cut off my hand at the Wendover fire station. It was a weird day. Anyway, after the incident I discovered it would be about $ 600 to replace this particular ring, so I decided to see if it could be repaired. Based on their reputation(and close proximity to my house), I stopped by Freshman’s to see what they could do. They said they could make it look almost as good as new, even without the piece the firemen cut off to get it off my hand.(Yeah, they told me I wouldn’t need it. Kind of an expensive mistake.) So I left the ring in Freshman’s capable hands and in a week they called to let me know it was ready. It was, indeed, about as good as new.(My ring and me: reunited and it feels so goooooooood!) The ring fix wasn’t cheap, but in situations like this you have to pay for quality. I’m very happy with the work and the customer service I received. Should I ever, on the off chance, have another unfortunate incident involving one of my rings, I’ll trust Freshman’s to do the work.

I don’t know how they are as a jeweler but as a supply store they are overpriced and not very helpful. I went to get a piece for a project of mine and they wanted to charge me 3X what I could order it for. So I will order it, pay the shipping and still save lots of money.

I wanted to have a special necklace made to commemorate a big event in my wife’s life, and didn’t think twice about who I would have make it for her. Freshman’s is the go-to place for custom jewelry. Zach was great to work with. He was excited and responsive to my initial idea regarding the design, and I relied on his experience and skills to fine tune the design details. He made some suggestions that I would never have thought of, and they really made a difference in the final design. Zach worked very hard over several holiday weekends to make sure the necklace was completed by Christmas. My wife absolutely loves the necklace, and Freshman’s now has a life long customer.

I have a ring that’s pretty important to me, and I never wore it as often as I should have, because it was too big for me and I was afraid that on the off chance that for SOME reason I started talking with my hands, suddenly, it would fly off my finger and I would never see it again and my heart would be broken and I’d have to explain myself and the fact that I lost a ring with such a history and such a hilarious story behind it and I’d have to tell the boy who gave it to me that I’d lost it and I’ve lost it before but he doesn’t know because I’ve always managed to find it, BUT I didn’t want to lose it. That’s where Freshman’s came in. They made my ring smaller. Now it fits, and it cost a lot less than I had been quoted elsewhere, and the best part… When we were figuring out what size it should be, the nice man at Freshman’s told me that my fingers were dainty and petite. Or maybe I said that and he agreed, but either way… Great service, the job was done earlier than quoted, for a great price, and I’m skinny. What more could you want from a jewelry shop? OH! Vintage jewelry? They have that too! I’m a vintage nerd, and I didn’t know prior to my recent visits, but Freshman’s has all kinds of amazing vintage and estate pieces(rings, brooches…) in a very special corner case. When I grow up I’m going to buy baubles galore from this place.

Well, a swift response and apology from the owner has made me feel much better, in spite of the service I received from the other employees at freshman’s. Basically, They sent me a postcard which I didn’t get. I expected a phone call since a phone call is quicker and I could pick up the Jewelry the day it’s done. The person who answered the phone when I called to inquire about such the chain was really defensive. Anyway, I have my Chain, and it’s good as new.

I had a non-traditional wedding ring that had emeralds in the wedding band wrap. I’ve had it for about 15 years, and over the years the chain-store jewelers I took it to added solder to re-tip the rings and keep the stones in place. I lost one of the emeralds and decided this time I would take it to Freshman’s. They looked at my ring, made some recommendations, and basically re-worked the ring so it was the style and quality it should have been when I first bought it. They gave me an estimate, and they stayed within reason of the estimate(and far less than I was willing to pay.) When I got the ring back, I got into my car and cried — it was perfect and beautiful– better then when we first bought it. These are true craftsmen and I would recommend them above ANYONE else in the state.

This business has been around for a long time, and for good reason. My fiancé and I have commissioned one custom order(my engagement ring) with this store and am just beginning a second. The first piece was done perfectly, after several drawings and changes from myself. I am not an easy customer to please, and I have them a challenge that they turned out beautifully. Now, just waiting to see what they will do for my wedding band…

This is a jewelers paradise. They have everything a jeweler would want in the store. Their showroom is stocked very well and they have pretty much everything. If not they can order it. The service was great and they have always done an incredible job on all my friends wedding rings.
