I’m a big fan, my wife and I eat here 2 times a month. We know a number of the servers, fantastic service, most consistent food in the valley. Weekends generally fill up for prime time seating so get reservations earlier in the day on a fri or sat eve.

Great menu, service, and ambience. Perfect spot for pre and post events across the street at the arena.

It has been awhile since my wife and I ate at the Salt Lake City Fleming’s because the last time was such a disaster. But we noticed the higher ratings on Unilocal lately, and figured we would give it another try. First, the good: the food was much better than before. Other than my wife’s bone in ribeye being a bit under seasoned, the dishes were all delicious. I enjoyed the Wagyu New York strip, and both steaks had the proper cook. The sides were also good, especially the Fleming’s potatoes. So why the two stars? In a word, the service. Our server belonged in a Denny’s, not Fleming’s. From the long wait after sitting down, and the repeated long waits afterward, to the incorrect check at the end, it was a disaster. But the real kicker was finding out when settling the check that the wine I had ordered wasn’t available and I had been given another wine with no mention of it whatsoever. And then the server explains that she had«intended to give me a cheaper wine» but then I had ended up with a more expensive wine somehow. Sure, I hadn’t ordered an expensive glass of wine, but this isn’t some wine-out-of-a-box kind of place — I expect to be informed if the wine I ordered isn’t available, and given some options rather this just bringing me whatever there is with no mention of it whatsoever. It looks like the management has gotten some good Fleming’s class back in the kitchen. Now they just need to get that class in the front of the house as well.

Beautiful place. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. A little bit hidden from sight. But amazing.

Everything our entire party had was wonderful. Everything from the pork belly appetizer, to the salad, the perfectly cooked steaks, and each side to share… Make sure you get the chocolate lava cake too. Wow.

Took my GF here a couple weeks ago. First we started with a bottle of wine. It wasn’t in stick and they took the liberty to upgrade us. That’s what customer service is all about. The food was so good! We both go steaks and were cooked perfectly. The mac n cheese to phenomenal!

Used to be an awesome place! Good food, but recently lacking in service. I had to ask for a fork & a glass of water at least 3 times before my waiter actually remembered to bring them & it wasn’t a busy night at all. I have to say, their bread & spreads are delicious. It’s not the usual butter that other places give out. They’re flavored & yummy! Work on the customer service & this would be a great place to eat!

Had the steak and lobster tail as entrees, both taste just SOSO. Doesn’t reflect the price on the menu at all. The lava cake is a highlight. Sweet and well designed combination. Service is fine. But still a very pricy restaurant that doesn’t worth the $$$$. I’ve seen store gift cards at 20%off available in Costco, if you really want to try, go get the gift cards.

Service is still lacking in this establishment. Not sure why the great tasting food and the lack of service? They both can’t go together. Think I will stay away for a while and try out the other local steak joints nearby.

My first time here was good. There were almost too many servers, the manager, etc. interrupting our meal to ask about our dining experience. The food was delicious but pricey because everything is a la carte. Loved the filet mignon, wedge salad, beer cheese soup, hot Parmesan bread with two yummy spreads, and their pumpkin cheesecake brulee. I didn’t appreciate their squash medley with hazel nuts and balsamic vinegar reduction because the rinds were too hard. We used valet parking and were able to keep our car there during the Jazz game across the street. Sweet! This is a nice restaurant for adults/special occasions.

Went to Flemings and was treated so well! Best service I have ever got from a restaurant. We haven’t been in there since we got married and they took great care of us. David Swift and Rick and all the staff are so good. David even remembered I liked ice tea. There always smiling and making sure our meals are delicious. The food is always fresh and tasty. I always recommend this place to friends and family and coworkers. As long as David and Rick there there we will continue to come. It’s nice getting pampered after a hard week of working. I go home happy with a belly full of food and always can’t wait to come back! Just wanted to do a shout out to Rick and David swift for helping me by making dessert for my wedding reception perfect. They made me a whole cheesecake and Rick even went to the pastry store and got a box to put it in. Let me tell you how much I love their cheesecake. It is sooooooo good. And the service there is great. They always treat me like a friend rather than a customer. I always recommend them to our friends and clients. This restaurant goes out of their way to treat us good!

I have been coming here for years. Rick will take care of you if there is any issues. Everytime is a great experience sometimes I do get a bad experience from time to time but I asked him to correct it or take it off the bill. Top notch food fairly decent speed of service and great pricing for the level of quality of food you’re getting. I usually get steak and lobster with Beringer wine strawberry wine is the best.

Flemings is such a yummy place! The steak just melts in your mouth, and even though I don’t like paying $ 4 for the rubs they use, however the peppercorn one is well worth it! The staff are super nice and the ambience is wonderful! I love how thwy give you an option on napkin color! My only complaint is a small one: each time ive been my wine glassware had a chip! I find it funny since this place is super upscale and yet a chip both times! I told this to the manager and got a free dessert and multiple apologies. Everyone should make an effort to try this yummy place.

My last couple of visits have been in the bar section of the restaurant, and I’m a fan! They feature nightly specials that aren’t available in the main dining area, but you can order things off of the regular menu if you wish. I can’t remember exactly, but I believe the specials are certain small plates for $ 6 each from 6−7pm and others for $ 8 between 8−9pm. I’m in love with the Pork Belly dish that comes with cheese grits and cherries. I’ve also had the butternut squash ravioli, beef carpaccio, and burger which are also very good.

Salt Lake City, UT: I ate too much, my pants are now too tight, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to die from too-much-yummy-food-itis. Contrary to what the(rather whiney) reviews below would have you believe, this place is well worth the higher prices. We’ve been here many, many times over the years and the food and service have always been deserving of the full five stars on Unilocal. Our meal today was no exception. Each meal at Fleming’s starts with fresh bread served with both a tomato butter and blue cheese butter spread. After scarfing down the bread today, we moved onto the the Ricotta Wild Mushroom Crostini and Sweet Chile Calamari. Mmm! My parents then had the seasonal special — eight oz. New York Strip and crab cakes — while I devoured my Barbecue Scottish Salmon fillet. Of course, no meal at Fleming’s would be complete without the famous Fleming’s potatoes. Because we were all filled to the brim, we also partook in a miniature Chocolate Pot au Crème. Every server who came by our table was lovely; the team assembled here is especially attentive and sweet. Additionally, everything we ate here was delicious. I recommend this place as a definite go-to for a fantastic meal.

What a difference a few weeks can make?! We decided to come back to Flemings and give them another chance. Well, I’m glad that we did! Almost everything here has improved so dramatically! We went for an early dinner and the place wasn’t crowded, so I can’t comment about their hostess/reservation issues. We didn’t order any mussels this time. However, we were informed that corporate was notified of their supply chain issues causing bad product to be shipped to their restaurants and thus, being fixed. That’s great to hear! I had their surf and turf special the first time and really enjoyed it. So, I ordered it again. It’s such a great value for such a high quality appetizer, entrée and dessert. Plus, it makes for a very well rounded and filling meal. However, this time the meal was different… it was better than the last! The size of the scallop was much larger! Although, I personally would have preferred it to have more seared glaze on it, it was still delicious nonetheless. No complaints about the lobster tail or filet mignon either. Both were just as good as the last experience, which is a good thing because the last experience was a meat and seafood lover’s treat! My girlfriend ordered 2 lobster tails and truffle mashed potatoes. Her lobster was just as rich, juicy and flavorful as mine. However, the real star of the evening was their truffle mashed potatoes. If you’ve never had truffle mashed potatoes, then don’t try them because they’re hypnotizing. Their unique combination of earthy, musky, nutty aromas hits you like nothing else! I think in my next life, I want to come back as a pig so I can forage for them on my own and eat as much as I want! Now, to save the best for last, the service we experienced this night was impeccable! Our server, David, was professional, very attentive in a behind-the-scenes manner and the perfect combination of genuine sincerity and polite sophistication. He’s the kind of staff that gets employment at Michelin-starred restaurants in big, international tourist cities. And he’s here in Salt Lake. Fleming’s is truly lucky to have someone like him on staff. Don’t take my word for it, ask for him the next time you come in. He easily qualifies for membership in the«35 And Up Club» –which, by the way, isn’t a reference to anyone’s age ;) And last but not least, the manager was as solid, professional and in-charge as he was during our last time dining here. If the owners read this, then they should be confident having someone as capable as him running the day to day, as well as, being an outstanding and genuinely concerning liaison with their customers. All the staff represents a company but the manager obviously carries that burden the most. And he carries it more than well!

Update: I did send an email to Flemings about the food poisoning and they were quick to respond. The local operating partner of Flemings personally called me and we discussed my experience. He was very apologetic and let me know that they had removed the mussels from the menu until they fixed the quality issue. That was a positive, because I didn’t want anyone else to get sick from the mussels. So I felt like I was heard and that they took the necessary steps to address the problem. They did refund my bill for that night and also sent me a gift card, which was much appreciated. We tried Flemings again last week and it was like a 5 star experience, way better than our most recent visits. We went early to avoid the crowd and were promptly seated at 5:30. Surprisingly they acknowleged my gluten free request that I had put down in the reservation. I’ve been going to Flemings for over 3 years and have always put down that a gluten free menu was requested, but this was the first time someone paid attention to it. So that was a pleasant surprise for this visit. We had a great server named David. We haven’t found anyone to replace Jen after she moved a few years ago, but he’s our new favorite. Very genuine, great personality, wonderful service, and we felt well taken care of. We actually saw the operating partner who told us that they had fixed the quality problem with the mussels and that it was back on the menu. I was still scared to get it and went with the lobster instead. Maybe next time I’ll give the mussels another try. My lobster was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed my meal. The chef himself came out to check on the food and to also apologize for the last experience. That was a nice gesture and showed that they really cared. I also got truffled mashed potatoes which were yummy. I thought it needed more truffle flavor, but I always think that with truffle foods in general. For dessert I got the berry sorbet which was refreshing and delicious. Overall a fantastic experience that was much improved! They definitely showed that they care about customer service and making sure that the quality of their food was up to par. I’m sure we’ll see you soon David!

TLDR: not higher class dining, won’t get what you pay for. Not a cheaper Ruths Chris. What a disappointment. Really. I made reservations for dinner with my girlfriend, and we still had to wait 20 minutes. Granted it was Vday weekend, so people want to camp out, I get it… but check out the other reviews as it seems pretty consistent. I was expecting a more romantic, business — casual setting, but sad to see there’s no dress code enforced as people came rolling in with hoodies, jeans and t-shirts; not trying to be pretentious, but higher-class dining aims at building an experience. I want my date to feel wow-ed, and you just don’t feel it coming in. My cocktail was made sloppy, covered with sugar all over the glass, sticky no matter which way I grabbed the glass. The mushroom ravioli was overcooked, with the pasta being a little tough. Our dessert, the molten — lava chocolate cake(which sounded like our server was just rambling the same scripted recommendation to each table), tasted like it was made with salt and not sugar. The wine menu, via tablet, was more of an annoyance than helping me find a wine to try. Also when they bring your food they don’t get food placement and kind of hurry when placing. That was the bad. The«Great!» was the steak, specifically the filet-mignon which was cooked perfectly, though I wish I went for a bigger, meatier cut; more of a meat preference than a blame. Service was okay; felt like an upscale Olive Garden. I just felt like another customer, nothing special. Kudos to the bussers that kept our table clean though. I think people go here thinking it’s a cheaper version of Ruths Chris… make no mistake. Don’t go thinking you won’t spend around $ 200 for a full meal for a date, which isn’t fair for the atmosphere, service and food you get. At $ 200+ with appetizers, 2 steaks with sides, drinks and dessert, you deserve perfection. Honestly you’re better off going to Ruths Chris — you’ll get what you pay for there. Perhaps I should’ve came to this steakhouse first…

This place had surely gone downhill, few years ago, they were among the top fine dining steakhouse in town, and now they are just hanging off a cliff just like the Gateway mall they are located at. If you never visited them before, the restaurant can be hard to find, since the signs at the mall were not the friendliest, and they are just directly south of the Depot near the fountain. We started with some New Bedford Scallop and a bowl of French Onion Soup, they were just not very good, as half of the scallops were burnt, and one of them charred on the bottom. It was almost as if they flipped them over to hide the burnt side. Side veggie was awful, tasted like frozen veggies. French onion soup was extra salty, and was unlike any I had at other places. For entrée, we got Prime Ribeye and Porcini Rubbed Filet Mignon. I also told them to bring some steak sauces for sampling. The Prime Ribeye was a decent steak, but nothing amazing about it. Quality was on par with the cheaper steakhouses. The green steak sauces went well with it. The filet came default with the white steak sauce on top, and it worked very well with that steak and seasoning. I only wish they did not put the mushroom on top. The sides we got were Truffle Poached Lobster and Diablo Shrimp. The lobster tasted a bit old and mushy in the center, but the shrimps were very good, and the spicy seasoning brought a nice kick to them. I guess Fleming is not what it used to be anymore, a falling star in the fine dining steakhouse scene in Salt Lake City would be a fitting description. The heavy promotion we have last year just confirmed their desperation. The service was fine except for the girl at the front who seemed obviously annoyed for unknown reasons. I see no reason to return unless you are into overpaying for average quality steaks and burnt appetizers.

I’ve been here twice now, and both times have been a phenomenal experience. I can only rate their prime rib, because that’s what I’ve had both times. The reason for this is because on Sunday they offer a complete prime rib dinner for $ 40. This includes a choice of salad, side, and dessert. The Caesar salad is one of the best I have ever had, and the Fleming’s potatoes are fantastic. The prime rib was excellent both times, and the cheesecake is an absolute must! BTW, all desserts are made in-house.
