Tapas/Small plate style restaurant aka You order multiple plates meant to be shared. They’ve got a good variety to choose from… All plates range from $ 8-$ 16 depending on what you get. For two people, I would say you should order at least 4 – 5 plates for a full meal. We came with intentions of going else where to fill us, so we ordered just 3 plates. We left satisfied and happy. All 3 plates were quality and delicious. It was full on a Friday night as expected and a bit dim/gloomy, but nice nonetheless. I would recommend a time when there is some sun still out and less of a crowd. Service was great and helpful. Menu was different than a lot of the reviews on Unilocal,so just be aware… We were a bit disappointed that we didn’t get to try some of the glory we saw in the Unilocal photos. Overall, a great, quality place.

We went SLC for skiing and found Eva. It is located SLC downtown. We were guided to backside of the restaurant. It looked like an old passage between buildings, but very nice decorated and fancy. Their food were excellent from appetiser to main dish include Crispy chicken, sauted mussels and glazed pork ribs.

We’re in town from Michigan and Eva was recommended to us– it did not disappoint! We shared 8 plates among 3 of us and it was the perfect amount of food to share. The roasted cauliflower/roasted beets were amazing and the French pizza was crispy and delicious. Our waiter was very helpful with our dish selections and staggered our food so we weren’t overwhelmed with all our plates at once. Great experience!

Came in like at 1050 pm on Thursday night. It wasn’t busy at all. There was no host at the front and no greeting. We waited 5 min. The light setting was really dim. Ordered some foods and a glass of wine. They had no plum wine so asked something similar, which I liked a lot ! But, be aware that the glass is mini size and you get like 2 sips of wine. Every food we’ve ordered was tasty! But they were really small portions. Not really sure if it’s worth of money but well. it’s delicious.

Open faced style plates, brought out as they are ready. The Eva Steal was delicious! Highly recommend it, calamari, Brussels sprouts and asparagus were all delicious! For a meal you would need to order 2 or 3 plates. Expensive plates but very tasty!

Wow, what a great experience. We came here with a party of seven people and we nearly ordered everything in the menu. Every plate was simply amazing. Service was solid, although they could’ve came more often to pick up empty plates. I’d recommend the bruschetta, so good!

I don’t go here very often, but I always enjoy it when I do. Though a bit over priced, the portions are perfect. I generally get the seafood risotto with a salad and have some tea for dessert(they have a nice tea selection). I enjoy sitting at the bar in colder months and on the patio when the weather is nice. I don’t recommend coming here with a large group. The space is narrow and quite noisy. The servers are very professional and laid back. I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

This has become our go-to«nice» restaurant to which we bring friends visiting SLC from out of town(particularly during Sundance season). By «nice» I mean it’s classy enough to impress folks from bigger cities who might have access to finer cuisine than what’s typically available in SLC. To be quite honest, SLC is really coming up in terms of medium-to-fine dining, and Eva is just one example of this. The menu is basically tapas(I’m surprised if you don’t know that by now) with a fairly eclectic variety of dishes(not only Spanish style tapas). Some of the normal menu favorites include miso-glazed carrots, pork ribs, and(one of their most popular items) asparagus with a poached quail egg. During our most recent visit, we ordered the 3 aforementioned items, as well as a special on the menu: baked polenta(really perfectly bakes – crispy on the outside, hot & creamy on the inside!) topped with chopped bacon and kale pesto. So delicious!!! We found those 4 items to be filling enough for 2 people. We also ordered chocolate truffle cake to go(dessert only cost $ 8) and wine corkage fee(only $ 10!) for a grand total of ~$ 55! For a certified cheapass like myself, that’s not bad at all for a 2-to-3 dollar sign meal. Please enjoy this Sundance Film Fest favorite.

Eva is so adorable, the aesthetic of the restaurant is hard to see from the outside but once you step in, it’s hard to miss the adorable antique plates on the wall. I also love the semi-communal tables and close seating. The patio is equipped for both winter and summer, as well. They’ve made the most out of the space in the restaurant. All of the dishes have been delicious, especially the meatballs & manchego butter. The Seafood risotto was a favorite as well. The tri tip bruschetta is to die for. Plus skipping dessert here is basically a sin. The coconut donuts and gelato are heavenly. The staff here is awesome! Everyone checking on tables and running food, etc. I love Eva! It’s perfect for date night, as well. Make sure and go with others and try a lot of things.

Loved this place. It’s a little small and intimate but that’s how Tapas should be. Came on a suggestion of a friend a friend and was not disappointed. The menu is pretty diverse and changes to keep it fresh. The dishes I had were the French Pie, Seafood Risotto, spinach and potato gnocchi and a special off the menu. Everything was good and cooked excellent. The scallops out of the seafood rissoto was a highlight. Passed on dessert since we were plenty full. While this is a Tapas place I felt the dishes were a little bigger than usual. No big deal unless you get filled up easily. I would definitely come again and bring some friends.

When we got there, it’s a small but looks like a nice upscale restaurant. Definitely not in the best part of downtown given we had a homeless guy kneeled over for a few minutes while we were getting our baby out of the car. Wasn’t sure what he was doing but when we left the car, he followed us up to the restaurant… creepy. The food was by far the best experience, finely done and well sauteed green beans w/a little kick and their slow cooked short braised beef ribs. The rest of the dishes were just an okay — gnocchi, bread and cheese(don’t bother with this because it’s a waste of $¾ for regular bread and cheese you get at a restaurant). Otherwise, prices seemed decent but the bill was high at $ 60 for two folks who didn’t walk out especially full. We didn’t have any alcohol so if you want to get dessert and walk out full, it’ll be closer to $ 80-$ 90. Overall, good place if you want to pre-eat but bad place if you expect to get full. Service was decent but our waitress seemed out of it and like she wanted to up and run.

I love the ambiance of this place! It’s very intimate and tucked in to Main Street downtown SLC. The grilled Caesar salad was great! Also enjoyed the Pork Ribs-delicious. Au Gratin was amazing! Anything here is just amazing!

I’ve been to Eva many times and have usually had a good experience, I like that they’re open late and centrally located so that I don’t have to settle for fast food after I go out. This time, however, we had a terrible experience, and I know for a fact that I will NEVER go back. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. If I could give zero stars, I would in a heartbeat. We had made a concentrated effort to go here, to celebrate, and the entire mood and atmosphere of the staff effectively ruined our celebration. First when we arrived(WITHRESERVATIONS!!), we had to wait 15+ minutes for the hostess to even come to her station(she wasn’t anywhere that we could see), and a line was forming all the way out the door. When the hostess finally got around to coming back to her station, she told us it would be a 10 minute wait and then told us we HAD to wait outside(in 20 degree weather, nonetheless) while they got our table ready. They wouldn’t even let us sit at an empty table, we had to go outside like animals. We wait 10 minutes and our table still isn’t ready, the hostess has vanished again and not one of the servers or bus staff came to offer to help, ask if we needed help, or find the hostess who’s supposed to be doing this. When we finally get seated(with no explanation or apology for the wait and right by the front door that’s constantly being open and shut), our server takes our drink orders, and messes up the drink order and forgets ice for our wine. Our food took FOREVER, and was brought out by a bus boy with hair past his shoulders, not wearing a hairnet and didn’t have it pulled up, and lo and behold, one of us found a HAIR in the food. We weren’t offered a discount or new food either, surprise, surprise. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had such an awful dining experience in my life. It was gross, over priced, and incorrect, while being treated like some kind of second class citizen whose sole purpose is to annoy the wait staff. If I’m paying this kind of money for tapas, I expect to be treated like a paying customer, not a stray dog. This establishment(I won’t even call it a restaurant), is a joke.

On the way to airport(a couple days early to beat snowmageddon). A great opportunity to explore downtown SLC. Thanks Unilocal, your reviews led us to Eva. Fantastic ambience, great service, 3 perfect plates(Brussels sprouts, beet salad, and lamb kebabs) accompanied by the cranberry bourbon drink special. Each 3 of the fresh beets had a different flavor but and each paired perfectly with the salad’s generous goat cheese. The grapes were soaked in something that we couldn’t identify but contrasted/highlighted the garam masala(?)/mystery spice of the lamb. The Brussels sprouts was served slaw-style: steamed or cooked lightly/and served with hazelnuts. No salt and pepper on the table but none was needed. Trust these cooks. A great start to the vacation. And(topic of dinner conversation) why is everybody in SLC so beautiful?!

In short: Nice setting, solid but unexciting food. Ambiance: Cute space, small and cozy. Noise level is reasonable to have conversations across the table without straining. Better for a party of 2 – 4 people than large groups. Food: I’ve eaten here several times, and remember liking it more in the past. There is a good selection of different styles to pick from, and all are small plates so you can mix and match. The most recent time I was there I felt that the descriptions sounded more exciting than the food turned out being. Nothing was bad or gross, but there was nothing I felt I wanted more of. Service: As expected wait to place orders, but a bit longer than anticipated to receive food. No complaints. Overall: Solid place with good variety, and reasonable execution. Nothing that will amaze. Personally, I would go if someone insisted, but I would try offer other options before committing.

Loved the atmosphere, quick service and tasty food. Ordered seafood risotto, pear & brie pizza and the seasonal roasted vegetables. The seafood risotto is grossly overpriced! $ 16 for two scallops and two shrimp? Really? Also, while the flavors were great the risotto was actually under cooked. I had to dock two stars for this offense. Under cooked is never okay, especially for $ 16 for a tiny portion. The pear & brie pizza was lovely — the dough was probably the best pizza dough I’ve ever had. Thin, soft, chewy, yet maintained its structure. Really fantastic. My favorite thing was the roasted vegetables — whatever herb pesto they use is AWESOME. I was a bit disappointed that it was mostly potatoes and onions. When I think of vegetables I think of green things. I do think they’re a bit over priced, but overall the flavors they put together are definitely enjoyable.

The best tapas/small plate restaurant in Salt Lake. Four stars for their use of quality and fresh ingredients. They change their menu seasonally which is always a good sign. Their assortment of plates is refreshing and varied. Not the best tapas I have had, but probably one of the most balanced and varied. They offer interesting assortment of flat bread brick oven pizzas, vegetable tapas(including goat cheese beet salads, grilled asparagus with prosciutto, and ah-may-ZING roasted califlour), and lots of meat/lamb dishes(American chops, Arab Kibbeh). Restaurants are a hit or miss here and this is definitely a hit for food. Not a huge fan of their cocktails, as they seemed to go a bit light on their alcohol contents. The waiter would not let us order a second drink until we finished our first? Not sure if that is a «law» in the city or if he felt obliged to monitor our evening cocktails… Definitely try their Spanish cava! Fresh but bold! Great accompaniment to their veggie dishes! Last thing: stays open till late during the week? This is an odd thing in this city as most places close at 9 or so!

Am I the only one that can only think of WALL *E saying EEvaaaaa when this restaraunt is mentioned? I was excited to finally try out this joint and I’m glad I did. Love that the servers are knowledgeable about their GF selections for my celiac’s out there, or anyone with allergies. The food was uniquely delicious and inventive. The brussel sprouts were shredded(brilliant) and phenomenal. Asparagus with a poached egg on top I will crave daily. The specials on the board are also not to be missed. The little«secret» patio out back was right up my alley for the mood of the night. I’m excited to go back and try some other dishes

Thank you to Eva’s for a beautiful evening. I’ve been in contact with them for the last few months planning a 60th birthday dinner for 20 people. Rachel was absolutely wonderful to work with. She made the entire process so simple, was very responsive and so kind. We reserved the patio and had excellent service without being intrusive and the food, as always, was fabulous. The only recommendation might be a fan or misting system on the patio. It was pretty stifling. Otherwise, it was the perfect evening! Thank you from your loyal customers!

3 stars overall. Was excited to try this place, but I don’t think it’s as good as the reviews suggest. I found some good items but nothing blew me away much. FOOD: Brussels Sprouts(1 star): DONOTGETTHIS. Especially if you actually like Brussels sprouts! They shred it and load the vinegar on it. Calamari(2 stars): Chewy. Fig and Pig Pizza(4 stars): Loved the fig on it. I would recommend this. Oink, oink, oink(3.5 stars): Good combination with the apple salad. Pork is cooked well. Seafood Risotto(4 stars): Good flavors, scallops slightly overcooked but it was still good. Chicken wings(2 stars): The«poached egg» on top was basically cooked through. HATE when that happens. If it’s poached, the yolk needs to be runny. The chicken has no flavor unless you cover it in the sauce at the bottom of the plate. SERVICE(3 stars) So there are 3 different kitchens so they don’t coordinate your food. They come out whenever it’s ready so it’s better to share dishes. When our chicken wings came out with the«poached egg» cooked through, I asked them to make another. It didn’t come out till about 20 minutes later, when the chicken was already eaten… so I got one poached egg separately in a bowl.thanks. ATMOSPHERE: Cute restaurant. Got pretty busy. PARKING: Street parking if you can find it at night. Otherwise there is valet for $ 5 a little before the restaurant.
