Color Me Rad 5K may be fun to participate in but THEY make a lot of money. This is a FORPROFIT organization who takes advantage of the kindness of people wanting to do good. It is a travesty that reputable charitable organizations get involved with this company who appear more concerned about their own profit than honoring the word of their agents. They certainly do not care about the safety of their participants/volunteers and are mainly(totally?) interested in their own financial gain. CHARITIESBEWARE. You can make plenty of money without allowing them to exploit you to provide volunteers to help THEIR bottom line. Just TRY finding who really runs the organization. They lie and hide behind a bunch of layers of shells of LLC’s. CHARITIESANDTHEPUBLIC need to be warned that this is a FORPROFIT organization and the release that volunteers and participants sign is to a corporate shell that claims no responsibility for your safety and has their bottom line not the safety of you or your property. The charities get paid per«volunteer» and get a small amount of fee only if designated after costs.

I’m a huge fan of community events like this, runs, biathlons, muddy events like the warrior dash and the mudfactor. I usually like to do at least one event a year to keep motivated for something and to just keep life fun. When I heard about Color me Rad event I was thrilled and it seemed super fun! It’s just a 5k which is 3.1 miles but throughout the course you get colored cornstarch thrown at you and sprayed at you! You end up coming out tied dyed full of colors all over your body! It was seriously RAD! Another great thing about this event was the word rad. It made me like this event even more! What was great was that the people organizing this even were really friendly, personable, and helpful. I had emailed them a few times asking questions about registration and events being held in other cities. Each time they were friendly, helpful, and they responded pretty quickly as well. When the day came for packet pick up, they had a whole bunch of Color Me Rad apparel, extra color packs, and water bottles for purchase. And they ALL were awesome, I especially loved the bright blue color me rad hoodie and shirts. Come race day, the music was pumping, volunteers representing the Special Olympics, which a portion of the proceeds go to, were out there telling us about their cause, and the workers of the race were all getting us hyped up for the event. It was pretty darn awesome! Throughout the run the volunteers were set up to color us down and boy did they do their job well! They were generous with the colors and were really fun too! Water was offered twice during the run in mini bottles, a new site for me on these community events, and at the very end were chilled waters and juices for us to take with us. I absolutely LOVED this event and I highly recommend everyone to participate in it when it comes to their city. I know for sure that I will do this again and again with any of my friends and of course my wonderful boyfriend! Benefiting a cause that helps other people, staying active, and finishing full of color?! My kind of fun fo sho! Registration is $ 35 early and when you sign up as a team. Individual registrations are priced a bit higher. I highly recommend registering as a team, whether is a team of two or ten, it makes the event a lot more fun.
