I have always wanted to try this place out. Well it finally happened. I went with my almost 2 year old and boyfriend. I got the burger and he got a sandwich, forgot what it was, it had ham, cheese onions and such, and my son a grilled cheese. The burger was amazing, it had a taste combination I had never experienced. A bbq type sauce and garlicy type sauce, it was awesome. The fries seemed home made and was very good. My son loved the fries and a chocolate waffle. I would have to say I will be craving that burger taste again and know the only place I can find it. So I will be back. My boyfriends sandwich was supurb too, although Im not a huge fan of onions, I really liked it.

Tried machine gun sandwich which is excellent. The frites are great and are served with a delicious sauce on top. The waffle monster is great any time but especially good in the summer because of the ice cream. The Luke sandwich is also good and comes loaded with great ingredients. The food always seems fresh and I feel like the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s important to understand that these waffles don’t needs syrup. Asking for syrup is like asking for A1 and a fine steak restaurant. It will only show your lack of taste.

Holy crap. I had heard good things about Burges but hadn’t got the time to go until now. Man, am I glad I came. I had the Machine Gun sandwich and good god. Sooooo good! Consider this a favorite! The fries were cooked to perfection, the bread was nice and crunchy, and the andalouse sauce was on point! The lamb sausages were okay, but this sandwich just made my life a little better. Awesome service, great food, cute little restaurant!

Blueberries and crème fraîche on a Liege waffle – there is just nothing like it in the world. Then of course you have to get the frites and the Andelouse sauce for the full indulgence. I love how unique the menu is, you really can’t to get the stuff anywhere else. I visit the downtown location more, but but this one is handy when I’m up in sugarhouse. If you have not tried it, it’s time!

I have had a waffle in Brugge, Belgium. So perhaps my expectations were too high but I was expecting more. The waffle was pretty good, it was a bit too cooked and a little dry. The cookie butter it was covered in and the strawberries were good. I was just hoping for waffle perfection and it wasn’t achieved here.

I used to visit the downtown location just for the frites and waffles, but they’ve recently added some great sandwiches to their menu too! The sugar house location is worth checking out especially if you’re bored and looking for something new to try.

Summary: Poor Quality Artificial Syrup(not real maple syrup) This time, we tried the conventional(non-liege) waffle, called the Brussels Waffle, with strawberries and whipped cream. It was good. The whipped cream was excellent. Drawbacks: the syrup wasn’t real maple syrup. It is the cheap kind made with corn syrup that you get at ihop /village inn or at a free breakfast at a hotel, in the packets. I had to ask for the syrup. That put a damper on the experience. It’s, with tax and tip, an $ 8.50 excursion. Such should come with at least a small jigger of real syrup. I have had tastier conventional/Belgian waffles at a place in Los Angeles. To my chagrin, they stopped serving traditional waffles, switching to liege. It was crowded, stuffy air, noisy European music(albeit tasteful), and friendly staff. With some modifications invoked, this would be an easy 4 stars: Better batter for waffle Real syrup and include without having to search for Cheaper pricing Open a window Turn down the music

Really enjoyed the torpedo waffle with ice cream and berries. That chocolate infused waffle was delicious! It was a bit crunchy. Wish it would have been a little softer but overall very very good. Restroom Review: 4⁄5 — Although just a oner this restroom didn’t disappoint. Based on the looks of the rest of the building I was prepared for the worst. Boy was I wrong! Clean and pleasant. It wasn’t too cold or smelly. The toilet was a manual flush but the cycling theme really rounded it out for me. Great experience.

Yum! I’m in town for work. My coworker told me, «We need to go get waffles and fries!» I was skeptical, but WOW. Best waffle ever. I had the traditional(vanilla) liege waffle with crème fraîche and strawberries. We also shared frites(fries), and the dipping sauce was yummy(we had zango). All carbs everything, and I’m not upset about it.(Although there is meat on the menu)

This is a rating for the machine gun sandwich, which is the only thing I’ve ever had at Bruges. I want to try the other things, but that would mean passing up my favorite sandwich that makes me feel like I have to go on a diet as soon as I’ve finished it. Totally worth it.

If you live in Salt Lake and haven’t tried this place yet, you need to rethink your life decisions. These waffles are amazing, and the fresh whipped cream can’t be beat! In addition to their awesome waffles, their fries are probably the best fries I have ever had. Gotta visit this place!

First time at the Sugar House location. I went for lunch so I had a sandwich and fries. It was good, but I would probably suggest sticking with their sweet waffles since that’s what they’re known for. Although I’ve heard their machine gun sandwich is pretty delicious, so maybe I’ll have to go back and try that.

This was our first visit and there was really only one thing we liked and would probably go back for — The Waffle Monster. The waffle-ice cream-speculoos-strawberry combination was really very good and gets 4 stars. But we went for breakfast expecting at least a few semi-traditional breakfast waffles which they did not seem to offer. So we ordered the Meltdown waffle sandwich which is Brie cheese, Caramelized onions, ham, lettuce, and tomato between 2 thin waffles. First of all, they forgot the Brie! Second, the onions were not Caramelized but barely cooked. The waffle was ok but didn’t really seem to add any flavor and got a little soggy. It gets 2 stars. The coffee was not good and gets 1 star for being hot. This place has potential and I would really like to see it do well, but personally I would like more breakfast options.

I was craving fries and I had been wanting to try Bruges for awhile. So I dragged my skeptical husband there(as usual) and we shared the machine gun sandwich. I had seen it on Man V. Food, and knew I just had to have it. It was probably the best thing I’ve eaten in the last month, and I eat out A LOT!(Yes I love food almost as much as I love my kids) It was huge and a little awkward and messy to eat, but totally worth it. The fries were cooked perfectly, not soggy at all, the andalouse sauce was perfect and the lamb sausage was not too«lamby».(not sure if that’s a word, but bottom line, it was amazing) also, not weird pieces of grissly fat like you get sometimes in sausage. Eww. THIS was on point. And of course I had to get something sweet, so we also shared a liege cinnamon waffle topped with Belgian chocolate sauce and strawberries. Best waffle I’ve ever had in my life! I’m still full right now, but just thinking about it makes me want another one. Check this place out, it’s legiiiiiiiiiit!

The best, most awesomeness, wonderfully delicious Belgian Waffles on the planet. I «used» to visit their ski-in only hut at the Canyons Red Pine Lodge, but since that was taken over by the far inferior generic waffles, I wanted to return to the source and had to make a special trip here on my way to SLC airport. I ordered the torpedo with Speculoos and was in Waffel heaven. * Please come to Florida and come back to The Canyons *

The nice thing about this place is that you can get true Belgian waffles made with yeast instead of baking powder. Other than that the breakfast was just average, no better or worse than your local IHOP. With all the positive reviews I had expected better.

The waffle with Belgium chocolate and bananas was delicious. The décor reminded me of Belgium, and the replica of manikin piss made me laugh and reminisce on a past trip to Brussels. The staff was friendly making the entire experience great.

This place is very wonderful. It has such a wonderful environment. The two people working there are very friendly and helpful. The place was fully decorated to feel like you were in Belgium. The reason why I gave it four stars was that parking was ridiculous. There is street parking allowed, but also a lot of cars taken the spots also. The place was a bit small, so if you have a big group finding seating would be hard during the weekends. The waffles I got was covered in Belgium chocolate and it was super delicious. They were very generous with the chocolate and every bite had chocolate! I also order frites with their most famous andalouse sauce. The sauce was really good and the frites was super crunchy and good. I overall had a good experience.

A friend from Belgium recommended this place so I had to try. Really good food but so rich you probably shouldn’t eat this every day. The Sugarhouse location was closest to us, but heed the parking notes(on the street and sometimes halfway down the block) and also the very small dining room with not many seats and all very close together so you are navigating a bit of a maze to get up to the counter(where you order and pickup your food). Tables are good for parties of 2 – 4, not really larger parties, though there is a long communal table on one side. There are high chairs for kids but not a ton of space to squeeze them in. Nice enough space though there is a television so it’s definitely more of a fast food place(you bus your own trays too). I met some friends here so we sat down to eat and it was pleasant and clean. Tried the menu item they are famous for from«Man v. Food,» the Machine Gun Sandwich(baguette stuffed with 2 merguez(lamb) sausages, Belgian frites, Andalouse sauce) and it is KILLER. The Andalouse sauce is just the right bit of spicy. Definitely rich and an indulgence since it’s served over frites and covered in the sauce/mayo. One friend had the waffle club sandwich which she said was good but not as spectacular as it looks on the website. Other friend had the Freakandel(authentic Belgian marriage of chicken, pork and beef in 1 mild sausage served over frites with choice of sauce) — it was flavorful but a little funky for my tastes. The sauces seem to be where Bruges really shines. They are homemade and all unique. Would I come here again? I wish I could but I may be too health-oriented, but I think I have to return to try their waffles. Would I recommend it to someone else? Without a doubt.
