Barley’s Canine Recreation Center

Wow! This place has it all for dogs! The staff was great and very helpful. We were visiting from out of town and needed a doggie day care for the day. We scheduled an initial visit for the staff to evaluate our dog, which gave us comfort knowing this place would be the right fit for everyone (people and dogs). After passing the initial evaluation, we dropped off our dog the next day and picked her up in that evening. Exhausted from all the fun and excitement throughout the day, she slept hard for the next 12 hours. We were so pleased with their setup and care for our furry little friend. THANK YOU SO MUCH! :-)

We spent a week in SLC and brought our 1.5 year old border collie at Barleys for 3 days while we skied. I like the fact that they did a behavioral assessment before they let your dog come in. The swimming is a great add to the day and our pup came back tired. She didn’t get injured which is a nice thing when they are with other dogs. We had a friend recommend Barleys and I was very happy with the overall experience. The pricing is expensive but they have a nice facility and I would rather pay for quality than a cheaper location with lower quality.

Barley’s is the absolute best. Their staff are fantastic and they take great care of our dog. She comes home exhausted after playing with other dogs and they send us photos of her socializing with other dogs. In addition, she has done a few classes in the pool there and has gotten over her fear of jumping in the water. We feel so happy to have found Barley’s and would recommend them to anyone!

We are soooo happy we found this place. My dog loves going to Barley’s. The price for full-​day daycare is a bit higher than some of the other doggy daycare centers in SLC, but I think it’s worth it. What I like the most is that they have limit of 25 dogs per day, so my dog gets enough attention and supervision. I pull up in the parking lot and the dog’s tail starts wagging, and once we are out of the car she makes a beeline towards the front door. It gets the pup’s energy out and when she comes home, she’s calm and happy. Highly recommended :))

Our doggies have been long-​time daycare lovers and always come home with rave reviews. We thought perhaps we could find a new home at Barley’s since we are new to the area. Not only did they terrify our dogs, but they told us we had no business leaving them in day care. «Why did you even bring them here?» I was really hoping this would be our place, but it seems we need to keep looking.

Our Mimi loves Barley’s and the whole staff. We are new to the area and they welcomed her with open arms. It’s always a good sign when she’s excited to go. Mimi has even been taking swimming lessons in their pool! And we also enjoy getting pictures texted to us when she’s at daycare! Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about Barley’s Canine Rec Center. My little Nipha is usually so energetic, it’s hard to get her to stay still or go to bed. But after a day at Barley’s, especially after hiking, she is out like a light as soon as she gets in the car! She loves Barley’s and usually starts barking as soon as she sees the BCRC sign from the car window.

My fur baby love love loves it at Barleys! Best daycare in Utah. He can’t wait to get inside when I drop him off for the day and we always come and swim on my days off. It’s a super clean, organized and well staffed facility. Everyone is so sweet and nice. Money well spent!

Barley’s is the best resource we have found for making our sweet girl happy and exhausted. Our black lab can’t get enough of the pool, ball playing, socializing and overall attention!

Barleys is fantastic. The facilities are great for dogs with both indoor and outdoor areas. Our lab loved swimming in the pool and came come tired and very happy.
The staff do a great job and they are all dog lovers. We’d highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Dream come true for my pups! Indoor, heated pool where dogs can swim all year round. Lots of pool toys and tennis balls to keep all the dogs busy and having fun. My dogs were beside themselves with excitement and did not want to leave.
The staff were excellent and obviously love animals. The whole place seems really well thought out and designed to ensure dogs can have a great time in a safe environment.
They also have a dog day care from 7a-​7p, but unfortunately these hours aren’t early/​late enough for my job.

My pup has been going to Barley’s for a few months and he loves every second of it. The staff is amazing with him and he loves them to death. I have never seen him so attached to anyone besides his own parents. Their pool is fantastic and great for exercise. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Highly Recommended.

My dog loves going to Barleys! The staff are all great and very attentive to the dogs. There is so much room for them to run and play and there are indoor and outdoor areas. The play areas are all clean. There is an indoor swimming pool that is heated and free of chemicals! It’s a great place to take your dogs to play.

My dog Matilda loves this place. We rotate her around to a couple doggy daycares, whichever is closer to my wife or my work. However, Matilda goes crazy when we pull up to Barleys. It’s like one of those soldiers returning home to his dog videos. When we get inside, she enthusiastically greets each staff member. She doesn’t do that anywhere else. She must love the more one-​on-​one attention? They have a lot of personal attention to give each dog. They also have agility equipment, hikes, swimming, and friggin dog tai chi (just kidding). My favorite part is they are open Saturdays. Usually when Matilda drives home she is restless for food, but after Barleys she is dead asleep.

I love Barley’s! Seriously this is a FUN place to take your pup. You can feel good about leaving your dog here for the day. They have an indoor pool, daycare, dog walking, training, dog wash, agility area, doggie massage and acupuncture. Wow! They have it all.
I dropped off my German shepherd puppy yesterday for daycare. She got to play with «the pack» all day. It is so cool that they have an indoor and outdoor play area, which even had a baby pool. When the pups get tired, they have nap time on couches and dog beds. What a comfortable place! The coolest part is they post pics of your pup on Facebook so you can see how much fun they are having.
My dog has tried the pool too. She isn’t the best swimmer yet. But the staff here was so sweet and patient with her. I really wished this place could have been around when my older dogs were still alive. They would have loved being able to swim in the pool. Towards the end, they really couldn’t go for walks anymore and swimming here would have been perfect.
Now about the staff… They are truly dog people and it shows. The owners of this place are usually there working along side their friendly employees. Always a good sign. Perhaps they are part dog? I can’t say.
As I write this, my pup is still passed out and happily dreaming of her fantastic day at Barleys yesterday. I highly recommend taking your dog here.

We love this place. The staff is great! The facility is a lot of fun and very clean. Everyone there clearly loves dogs. We take our dog swimming and she starts going crazy as soon as we’re in the parking lot.

This place is so much fun. The center is named after a much loved deceased pet and it’s obvious how much the staff adores dogs. I took my 7 month old border collie/​husky to try out the indoor swimming pool as an alternative to his daily hike. When Milo (my pup) and I showed up for his one on one swim orientation, everyone was so friendly and seemed so happy to meet him. I don’t remember the gentleman’s name but he could pass as Christian Bale’s bearded doppleganger. He was beyond patient with Milo’s stubborn little butt and never forced him beyond what was obvious he was comfortable with. He was calm and gentle and kept his voice steady, never once sounding frustrated.

During Milo’s orientation, another staff member snapped some pictures of his debut and posted them on their facebook page the same day. I loved seeing the shots they got of my pup.
Once his hour was up, there was a heated towel to dry him off with and on our way out, we stopped at the reception desk. They have a cookie jar full of doggie treats. Milo forgot his manners and put both of his sopping wet little paws on the counter to ask for a treat. I reprimanded him and got him off the counter only to have the woman at the counter tell me not to be silly, that it’s perfectly alright and then gave him TWO treats.
These people honestly love dogs and it shows. Milo and I will definitely be back.
